Purdum's is the greatest produce around. I have been getting produce there for 12 years now minus the year they didn't have it. I sure missed it and I'm so glad they are back. Las weekend I was in the Boise area and wanted to make fried green tomatoes. Stopped at a Farmer's Market and some stores, no one had green tomatoes. We stopped at Purdum's in a last-ditch effort. No tomatoes on display but, I decided to ask anyway. Two young ladies jumped in a truck, went out to the fields and a few minutes later came back with six beautiful, large, bright green tomatoes which fried up perfectly. Along with the tomatoes we bought a lovely bouquet of flowers that are still amazing a week later, a flat of raspberries, some green beans and purple peppers. Everything was exceptional, especially the customer service. This is a business that not only supplies high quality produce but understands the true meaning of customer service!! I was asked to go to Purdam's Produce to pick up some little pumpkins which they had offered to donate to a non-profit group for a Halloween party. Growing up in Boise my whole life, I don't get out to Fruitland very often and had never been to Purdam's or even known this produce stand even existed. I was pleasantly surprised how friendly, nice and helpful the staff was and what a huge selection of produce they had. I love peppers and chilis and the assortment and quality of peppers that they had was shocking. I could not resist after loading up the donated pumpkins, I walked back to the cast assortment of Habanero, Jalapeno, Serrano and Poblanos. The Size of these peppers and the quality was amazing. I loaded up my donated pumpkins and returned to the stand to purchase about 15-20# of peppers, potatoes, garlic and onions. I spent less than $19.00 on what would have easily cost over $40.00 at one of the big-box grocery stores and the quality of Purdam's Produce is much better than what the other stores have. I was told that most of, if not all of the produce that Purdam's sells is local and grown right in the area. I was so also informed that they offer Pepper Roasting and depending on the size of the bag you have, it ranges between $2.00 and $5.00. The young lady checking me out said I should come buy earlier in the season when they have a wider variety of peppers, chili's, cilantro and anything you can think of. They are very helpful, the prices are amazing and the quality they have is simply worth the drive to Fruitland from Boise. I will be going back there much more often and plan on checking out the entire selection earlier in the season next year. Check out Purdam's Produce and you too will enjoy the atmosphere, quality produce and friendly staff.
