In June a friend of mine found a mama and 5 kittens outside her home. She contacted me for the best rescue to take them to. I highly recommended AOS. My friend stated that she wanted to keep the mama but was advised by AOS that the kittens could not be accepted without mama and that their best chance for survival was to keep them together. She did the right thing and gave them to AOS but made it very aware to them that once babies were medically ready she was going to adopt mama. Well just this past week babies were ready and my friend was ready to bring home her furever fur baby. That did not happen, favoritism was given to a volunteers niece. My friend submitted the correct paperwork for the adoption, showed up at Petsmart with her new cat carrier only to find out that someone else was taking her home. Now mind you, I was told the night before by the volunteer that she explained the situation to the niece and the niece understood that the cat belonged to my friend....that same niece was at Petsmart and due to being friends with the adoption counselor she ended up with the cat. My friend stood there with tears in her eyes and and empty cage. If you feel you want to adopt from such an organization be my guest, but apparently their word means nothing. Plenty other honorable rescues out there, I suggest you go elsewhere....if you scroll down you will see other stories similar ...guess it's about who ya know rather then keeping your word

They responded pretty quick and told us the pups were going to be at an event they were hosting. They gave us the times, days and location. We went and got to meet him and ask any questions we had and then were able to make our decision and follow thru with the adoption. The process was very easy and they walked through all the steps wonderfully. It never felt rushed. We were able to get our pups paperwork and vet records up to that point. The rescue covers the cost of the neuter/spay if the pup is not yet fixed which was very nice. The process of scheduling that was very simple. The team and K9's4u is so helpful and kind. We love our pup so much and would definitely recommend adopting thru this rescue!

I called afterwards for some information that my landlord needed about her vaccinations and spoke directly with the vet, and she was very kind and informative about the spay procedure that she performed and the vaccinations that my cat received. I may use this vet's regular office for future services but she is kind of far away. I love the work that she does for Fat Cat and all of the other local rescues that she works with! I went to the appointment and was taken in the cat room. Only one cat was loose. All the other cats were in enclosures. I asked the age of the cat I was interested in. The young Women said 9. I said that's great because my cat at home is 8. Then she said the cat has to be the only cat in the home. The cat's bio on their site said he is good with cats. Another Cat I asked about that was said to be friendly she said he bites and I cannot look at it. Cat looked friendly to me. Not one cat in the room was adoptable. When I asked why I was not told in my interview about the cats she said the people that do the interviews don't know about the animals. I feel I was discriminated against because of my age. They took the time to understand my dog, educated me throughout the process, and helped find a dog that was a much better fit for our home. The foster mom was great and you can see how much they care about the pups. When you adopt from them you join a community.

They are rude when trying to donate or foster for dogs, they do not care…read morethat the dogs go to loving familles who are more experienced with the breed they rather send their dogs to their own (My assumption is that they make money some how off of it) or they just do it for clout and attention to get more donations. Prices are relatively on par with most raw/ freeze dried/ natural pet food but they do have some deals and punch cards for free items (eventually) which is nice! I cant afford to go in too often as I am on a strict budget but as soon as I can, I plan on visiting for more raw snacks for my boys! also to add- they gave a scale in the store which is really useful to weigh in your pet without going to the vet!
