We originally found Kris through Rover and used his services regularly for our dog, who had been going to him since he was a puppy. At the time, things went relatively well--we felt like we had built a decent relationship. However, things changed once Kris transitioned away from Rover and began operating independently. That's when the red flags started.
With Rover, there were clear protocols and safety guidelines in place. Once Kris started running his own business, it became clear there was far less oversight and structure. Unfortunately, our dog was bitten twice while in his care. The first time was minor--Kris acknowledged it and said the dogs were just playing too rough. But the second incident, which happened last summer, was serious and traumatic. Our dog was badly bitten on the thigh and leg, had a ruptured blood vessel in his eye, and was on antibiotics for weeks. The vet confirmed our dog was not the aggressor, meaning this attack happened while the dogs were left unsupervised.
This wasn't the only concerning issue. Multiple dogs--managed to jump over Kris's fence on separate occasions. A one-time incident is understandable, but multiple instances show a clear lack of supervision and safety. He has also kept the dogs in hot garages, which is extremely dangerous in Southwest Florida's climate.
I asked Kris to pay the vet bills, but to this day, he has never responded, apologized, or taken any accountability. From what I can tell, his business appears to be permanently closed--but just recently, a friend unknowingly boarded their dog with him and their dog was also bitten. That leads me to believe he may still be operating under the radar.
Please be cautious. This situation was deeply upsetting, and I would never want another pet owner to go through what we did. Your dog's safety is too important. You can clearly see in the screenshots that "he did not notice", which someone responsible for watching the dogs would have observed.
PLEASE NOTE: He has received multiple reviews on various sites claiming similar negative experiences. He often tries to defend his poor behavior, such as he did in this response once again NOT taking accountability and lying, but it's important to note that he is frequently high while caring for dogs. If you don't believe me, please do your own research. It's not a matter of IF something will happen to your dog, but rather WHEN it might occur. read more
