You should definitely call and make reservations as part of your pre-planning. At this time, the cost per head is P4500 for the package deal, which includes the 4x4 ride up and down from the springs, the springs (really a series of pools), a sand massage, a full body clay mask, and lunch.
The 4x4 ride is the funnest part of this experience as you go on the water stream and semi-tough terrain. The pools were alright. The water is hot...but I'm pretty sure it's not a natural hotspring. But there are a lot of pools to lounge in, and the breeze keeps you cool. There's some Japanese inspired architecture for some photo opportunities.
After you're done soaking, you 4x4 down to where you get sand massages. They'll give you a change of clothes to sweat in. Then they'll ask you to lay in the sand while they cover your body (not your head!) with sand. Workers will walk around with fans to keep you cool. It's kinda like a sauna -- sweat is key! You can give your phone to the workers so they can take photos of you. When it's time to get out, you'll find sand is stuck to you. The workers will give you a brush to swipe the sand off. Then, you'll be guided to a row of pool chairs where you'll lie back and get covered in a clay mask. It is a full body mask so the women who keep their shirts on should expect the (female) workers to apply the mask underneath their clothing. Not on privates.
After letting the mask do its work, you 4x4 back to where you started and they lead you to the washroom where you'll shower and change back into your clothes.
Afterwards, you have lunch!
Overall pretty good for the Philippines. I just wished the wash rooms and toilets were a little cleaner. And the staff must have assumed that we didn't speak the language because someone made a weight joke and another staff member might have commented on someone's appeal. read more
