I can't hype up Craft Lake City enough! Over the years I've taken several of their artisan…read moreworkshops including embroidery classes, relief printing, macrame, sugar scrubs, and so many more. They host several workshops a month and always mix up the locations as well. Sometimes their events are more intimate 21+ events at Alibi, and sometimes we're using a space at NHMU (and getting a complimentary NHMU ticket for the evening!) or the Valley Fair Mail. Every class is so much fun, and it's a lovely community of people from all over the valley. I've met so many wonderful people at these classes. The artists that host them are so talented. I've never considered myself very crafty or creative, but after taking these workshops, I've realized that I have so many skills and interests that I never knew I had! It feels like every workshop honors the creativity of my inner child :) In addition to their workshops, they do a million other things that benefit our local community and foster creativity. They host two large events - the DIY Festival in August and the Holiday Market in December. Their staff is always friendly and helpful, and every event I've attended has been fun and well organized. It wasn't especially cold, and we were dressed appropriately with warm coats, snow pants, hats, and gloves. I was surprised to see many visitors who weren't dressed for the cold. Although you can warm up at the cafe, it's best to dress for the cold because it can be frigid. Over the years, we have visited Zoo Lights many times, and it's always a fun experience for our family. I was surprised this year, however, to see the decorations have been scaled back. Zoo Lights is smaller than in previous years, and areas that were open in the past are now closed down. Our boys loved Zoo Lights and enjoyed visiting Santa and riding the carousel. Thank you for a fun evening, Hogle Zoo!

The professional behavior and the lack of respect or help to those who want only to make the fair a success means that this fair is a slipshod shantytown on its way to the bin. Am I upset yes. But that doesn't change the facts. The owners have used me and my family for years and the only thing I have to show for it from them is hate and vitriol spewing out at me non stop. They even banned me from the face book page for trying to speak out against the fair so that I couldn't have my voice heard.

I haven't tasted anything less than exquisite from them. Another booth you can't miss is Amano. Their dos Rios bar is phenomenal. Caputo's May even have a Zokoko bar for you to purchase if your really lucky. This is an event where you come in and in most cases are treated to a sample of chocolate or cheese from a large number of vendors. After your finished tasting they usually have the product for purchase as well The museum is open to you after you finish. The dinosaurs are great for kids.

There were over 100 plots of sidewalk sectioned off in 2016, and a wide variety of skill levels were on display. The idea of sidewalk chalk art seems a bit frivolous, but many drawings easily hold their own among other gorgeous works of art across categories.
