Sadness

I'm so sad. this is my favourite restaurant and I started coming here but at the king E location. this location is a dump and they don't have anything, won't make anything you ask for like the basic schnitzel and they gave me all stale and freezing food. I came out of my way to stop here and I was excited but this sucks man. it actually ruined my day. they don't care at all here. my salad box I ended up getting was cold pasta that tasted like it should've been warm (it was red pasta sauce not pasta salad) and it was mixed w the 'beet salad' which is just huge beets that are so overbearing to eat even one scoop and then they gave me chicken and it's cold too. and it's all mixed together disgustingly in the same box. then the icing on the cake is that I ordered fries on the side bc I didn't want it mixed and they gave me stale fries. when I asked for their hot sauce (which is why I get the fries-- it's amazing at king location) they just gave me franks and all together I paid $27.52 for this piece of nastiness. also when I asked what's wrong with everything wrong here they said they just want to close and they closed at 1:30 but why? That's not closing time? How are they so poor at their jobs and not care so much and they only even worked like maybe 6 hours max? Y'all ruined my fav restaurant. When I tried to call no one answers phone. I wanted to show the chef or manager without confrontation by I'm shy and I understand ppl have bad days but damn. Can't believe I wasted almost 30$ and left literally sad and threw out the food. This ain't right. Please contact me if u can give a refund. My number is +14374434466 And my name is Luka.

Was walking by from TGH/Mars Discovery District and was feeling a bit hungry from missing breakfast. Pumpernickel is located in the basement of Mars Discovery District. Took a quick glimpse of the menu they have mounted on the wall. Didn't feel like splurging on a big meal, luckily there is a holiday special they have going on for Breakfast and Lunch. Good thing today is a Thursday and the special is a egg, avocado, bacon and cheddar on a sandwich with a coffee or tea. The lunch special looks promising from what I took a look at the daily special, I'll probably come back and check out what to expect..

My friend introduced me to the breakfast $5 specials. They change up monthly. For $5 I got a great breakfast sandwich with a tea or coffee. This week they changed the menu and it was a burrito. I wish the burrito was a tad bigger but still good value for the price. And it seems to be real egg none of that fake stuff like Subway. They have $10 lunch specials too that look good

Got this for $12(tax included). Picture taken after a few bites - still quite a nice portion

After merely two visits to the salad bar at Pumpernickel's college, I've decided it as my new go-to place for work lunch. The richness of fresh flavours in their salads had me impressed. I probably haven't tasted enough salads in my life to say this - but how can a salad be so good? Despite previous comments addressing the portion issue, I personally find that they fill up the box quite well! I guess it could depend on the employee. I was lucky enough to have positive experience both times. On my first visit, the employee even suggested to add more into my box, since "it's still got some space". As for the second time, I asked for one scoop of each veggie and ended up getting a heavy salad box with enough portion for two meals. They literally pushed the food down to close the lid - that's how much food i got. Their low rating on yelp surprised me. The only thing I didn't like was how early they're closing the store - on the website it says "open until 5pm", but today at 4:30pm, I cheerfully went downstairs just for their salad, only to find out that the store was already closed. Salad 5/5 Service 5/5 Early store closure 4/5

He takes great care of listening on what you want and present a wide variety of options that cater to your needs and your budget. The food is to die for as it is a unique experience and there are many dishes that I have never seen before. He has catered for groups ranging from 10 to 90 which is quite a range especially since he has only a few helpers. You can tell that he loves sharing his food with others and takes great care to ensure the experience is enjoyable. I would definitely recommend anyone wanting to try a new unique catering experience to try him out. If you are thinking of attending the Junk Food Festival in Mississauga, pass by and try his offering. He had a booth during this past weekend's Toronto version of the festival and it was a big hit with the crowds. Make sure you get there early so you avoid the lines at his booth. He took great lengths to make sure the meal was perfect by cooking it fresh.

We hosted our annual meetup group BBQ at Wasaga Beach this past weekend, and due to the large…read morenumber of attendees (90 people), we realized that we might need to consider outsourcing to professional help in preparing higher quality bbq fare,in addition to the regular BBQ food offerings we normally provided. We searched and found Rice Box and obtained their services to help us with their on-site cooking catering service. Based on our budget and our goals for the event, they proposed a customized menu that was suitable for what we were looking for, it Included Cucumber lemonade, watermelon salad, pulled pork sandwich, and lemon tart. After comparing to other proposals from other catering services, We came to the conclusion that Rice Box had the best cost/benefit ratio, and decided to try them out. The result at the bbq was much better then what we had expected, and was very well received by our attendees. The food quality was excellent and freshly cooked on site, and it had visibly improved the overall perceived level of quality of our event with an elevated touch of upscale dining fare. The end result was that we were glad that we had outsourced this part to Ricebox, they've handled our lunch group of 90 people with flying colors and we would definitely use them again in the future. Jordan was easy to work with, and was flexible in accomodating to our needs and what we were trying to achieve for our event. They've also indicated that they can also do wedding and bridal shower party catering as well, would def consider them if we ever have that need in the future.

I helped with a wedding with several hundred guests catered by M&O. Jordan as a person was a clear…read morecommunicator. The food was delicious. However, the set-up (name cards/place settings/centerpieces) was at a glacial pace such that there was no time for wedding helpers to verify all hundreds of name cards were placed at the correct seats by M&O staff. A second consequence was that guests were unable to mingle in the reception hall any earlier despite the ceremony having ended early, and some guests were forced to wait outside despite the cold. Jordan attempted to offer alternatives, but the set up staff did not speed up the set up process, and guests continued to wait outside the reception hall in a standing room only lobby area (and expressed frustration about that). Name cards were swapped/the opposite of what the bride outlined in the seating chart, so that at long rectangular tables a husband/wife were sitting at opposite ends. The staff potentially were not from M&O (potentially outsourced from a different company) but some did not clarify seating, and as a result, mixed up all the food orders. Some individual waitstaff were quite good about verifying name card placements but others did not verify them at all. Hopefully no one had a severe allergic reaction that night, as the seating chart from the bride and the reality of where names were placed were completely different for some tables. M&O also took boxes of glasses filled with water one by one to set up (instead of wheeling out several carts which would have expedited the process) and set everything up extremely slowly. Staff also served only 2 plates at a time, with about 6-8 people being served at a time. At a large wedding, this was disastrous because it took more than 40 minutes for them to serve the main course to everyone. This threw off the whole schedule of speeches so in the end we were more than an hour behind schedule. They also expressed a preference for people to be seated while the courses were being served due to the tight space (the tables were quite close together because the venue should not have allowed so many guests in that particular hall/room), which is a tad unreasonable at a wedding with several hundred people. In the end, guests couldn't enjoy the photo booth nor mingle as freely, and the schedule was extremely behind because speeches couldn't go on while people were in the middle of being served. Not sure if M&O outsourced their waitstaff to a 3rd party company that night, but would not recommend to anyone unfortunately despite the food tasting good.

But as a guest, I found the food to be delicious and beautifully presented! The servers at the wedding were attentive, friendly, and very professional. Always making an effort to serve on the left and clear on the right, tidying up our napkins when we stepped away from our seats, making sure we never had empty drinking glasses or wine glasses, etc. Really wonderful meal (salad, braised beef with veggies, and molton lava cake for dessert).
