We were traveling in the Johnson Lake area over the weekend and needed some gas for our trip back…read moreto Omaha. I think we have discovered one of the most quint spots around the lake, the Portside Express. Not only did we get our fuel, but we found some of the best tasting BBQ and Broasted chicken on the planet. I know where we're going to eat the next time we're in the area. Give them a try, you won't go wrong. Oh and by the way, the serve staff they have have are some of the best you'll ever find. Be back again soon!

They also have lots of different sauces for it inside. Well the restrooms are average clean. The most sad part is that all this food was in a restaurant that is located inside the store. I actually wanted to grab something that is very quick to make and eat like corn dog or a pizza or hot dog. But unfortunately that didn't have none of that. Also on the outside of the store , they have semi truck parking for 15 trucks. When interstate 80 was closed I stopped here to grab some quick snacks.

I rented a 20ft UHaul truck from this location to move my family and things to our residence in…read moreMontana. Having grown up in Kearney, I felt safe. I trusted these people in my hometown to take due care of us by ensuring we had safe equipment to rent. It was not to be. Upon our arrival at our home the truck cargo caught fire and EVERYTHING my family (including my elderly mom, a WWII-veteran widow) owns was either burned up or damaged and ruined by soot and smoke. The fire department determined that the cause of the fire was that the exhaust pipe on the truck was pointed upwards, toward the cargo. You can't see the tailpipe on a UHaul unless you crawl underneath because of the skirting on their trucks. We don't think any kind of safety inspection was done at all before we left because they were in such a hurry when they brought it to us. They had to go all the way to Grand Island to get us a truck because UHaul takes your money for "reservations" but they don't actually care if the equipment you paid for is available or not. Now my family is going through an insurance nightmare with Repwest (UHaul's insurance provider who is CONVENIENTLY under the same corporate parent company) and it looks like we may have to go to court to get any kind of just or fair compensation. I will provide updates as our situation progresses.
