Either I'm wrong about that or Parisians are paying out the nose eight times for their whimsical gift items. Still, the shop is well-stocked and very fun to browse. You can find a huge selection of action figures and little toys related to various areas of pop culture - animes, video games, movies, cartoons, etc. I enjoyed a whole set of wands from the Harry Potter movies, as well as uniforms and Hermione's time turner. There are Twilight trinkets too, of course. An army of figurines from One Piece line a glass case, and Matt B. and I found a trove of Barbapapa toys. I almost bought a Raving Rabbid before deciding it was way too expensive. Of course, there are comic books too, and plenty of other random knick-knacks. The vibe of the place is just fun and conducive to a long browse. It's located near the Sorbonne, so I'm sure it gets student traffic. I know I would spend some time here if I were a student and it were in my path.

Historically, many BD shops offered exclusive exlibris to entice customers to buy the album from them as opposed to their competition. Only a few produce exlibris anymore, but Super Heros still does! So if you are looking for a particular album, you might as well check to see if this shop is offering it with an exlibris.

I was then told we needed to give them 1 euro to look around. I told them we only had card and they kicked us out. Located near St Michel metro, the store is very close to the Latin Quarter as well as the Jardins de Luxembourg. Dealing in more than genres, Gibert has the ability to find you browsing for hours as you move from Reggae to Rock to Avant-Garde to Celtic to pretty much anything else. But it gets even better, as they also stock a lot of very well-priced 2nd-hand music and also deal in hard-to-find music magazines (such as Punk Planet) at very reasonable prices. Worth setting aside an hour or two for during your visit to Paris if you can, Gibert is one place you'll remember fondly long after leaving the city.

La Rubique a Bulles is hands down my favorite Bandes Desinees (French comics) shop in Paris. I've…read morelived in the city for three years, and these guys are the first shop I found, and are still my favorite. They introduced me to various sci-fi, fantasy and adventure series when I first started learning French. Even three years later I find myself always going to the shop. The guys who work there are super cool, always remember your recent purchases, and always have great staff picks. They also have a fidelity program for repeat customers. Their shop is small, but always stocked with the best choices. I also recently was able to order a hard-to-find Mobius BD, that I failed to hunt down online. Lastly, they stay open until 20h30 (Mon - Sat) so it's easy for me to pop-in and grab a volume after a late day at the office.

I also visited two of FNAC's other bookstore locations in Paris, but nothing quite compares to the one at des Halles. The reason why I'm not giving five stars is because the employees were rather perfunctory. Still, I gladly spent a small fortune on books each time because of the great selection.

I don't speak French so I naturally wanted to solve this problem by email or text since I can translate things.. It's impossible to get an answer. They don't do anything to help you and their rules are ridiculous. I even bought an issurance for the concert ticket and they are not even willing to reply to me. I'll never buy anything there again.
