Someone mentioned to me on Friday as we drove passed: There's a small recycling centre in there…read moresomewhere. They were very wrong. There is a massive recycling centre in there and its excellently organised and run. I didn't realise I would be visiting Ballyogan Recycling Park the very next day and what an experience it was. The place is setup brilliantly for people to drive in, park and dispose of their recycling. The different bins or collection boxes are clearly marked for what they accept. And the place is spotless. My sister tells me the same person is there always keeping the place tidy. A few things to note, you can bring a car load of garden waste here too and it will cost you we think 7 EUR. More if you have a car trailer. For this you will need to turn left as you come in the front gate and pay the lady at the barrier. Another thing to note is all the WEEE waste is in a separate section to the regular recycling and for this you also need to go through the barrier to the left as you come in. The nice lady at the barrier will give you a receipt and let you in with no charge. Just drive passed the garden waste and you'll see the WEEE section further on. Again this place is setup perfectly with everything clearly marked as to where things should go. For a recycling experience, Ballyogan Recycling Park is as good as it gets.

You have had a fantastic party last night and its fantasticness (made up a word there to show how…read morefantastic it was!) is evidenced by the amount of empty booze bottles lying about the place. Now you could be lazy and just throw them in the bin, I mean you probably have a hangover after all, OR you could be very green (in the environmental sense! not the pukey sense) and store them all away for a trip to the bottle bank. this is a great bottel bank too because its in a carpark where there is lots and lots of space so you can pull up beside them and then deposit your bottles without having to drag them any distance. this is a great way to release some anger or frustration too, throwing the bottles into the giant bins and hearing the smash is ltos of fun and you can really get into it and go wild! jsut dont miss the bin opening! at the end of it all you can pat yourself on the back and congratulate on doing your bit for the environment! yay for you! lets have another party to celebrate!

One of the ways to save colossal amounts of cash in these times of less than plenty is to find ways…read moreof doing stuff for less.... Well done Q, now point out that you need a light to see in the dark. OK, yeah, its obvious but I didn't realise just how much we were spending on bin charges till I started making regular trips to the recycling centre and this is definitely one of the better ones. Rathmimnes makes it easy, everything is separated into the correct bins - plastic, paper, cardboard, glass, paint, batteries and garden waste. They are open virtually every day save Christmas day which means there is no excuse not to do it...

But since teaming up with a person with a car we now bring our glass in bulk somewhere else for recycling. On this occasion I decided to come to my old recycling haunt as I was carless, also had some batteries that needed disposing and I was catching the 18 bus nearby afterwards. The place is still perfectly organised and clean. Clean as a recycling and waste disposal place can be. The one way system for cars is excellent and the parking spots in the recycling yard very organised. For all your recycling needs in Rathmines this is your go-to place, as long as they accept it! Check my pics, one photo outlines what they do accept. I'm glad my 1000th review is a five starer :-)

After cancelling the service of an 80 year old lady I asked for bins to be removed. They demanded…read morea fee to remove the bins so I said dont bother, just cancel the service. They said they would get cancellations to call me. No call and on Tuesday, a month later, they ring me to say there are arrears for the last month (which is cancelled). They claim they did call me (they didn't), then they said they would call me "tomorrow". This is now two days later and they still didn't call me. I tried to call them instead, at 3pm, and got an answering machine to day they are closed, opening hours are 9 til 6 (or whatever) An incredibly incompetent company.

My experience with OZO 24/7 Collect & Recycle is absolutely shocking…read more - Prices aren't transparent, they enter you into a contract without informing you on the website. - The invoices you initially receive do not correlate with the invoices they send you when you complain - They continue to charge you even if they suspend your account for not having any credits for lifts, which the terms and conditions say nothing about. - Staff have attitude and leave customer service to be desired. Right now, I wouldn't be recommending them to anyone.
