Conveniently located at Hwy 7 & Woodbine (across from Costco), Pointers is a Canadian scrapbooking,…read morestamps and card making store. They have a large retail & online scrapbooking and stamping store featuring many scrapbook and stamp products - w/ tons of different papers, stamps, cardstock, inks, etc. I can easily spend over $100 if I don't stop myself... The store offers many classes throughout the month (jewelry, scrapbooking, great impression cards, etc.) . I especially enjoy Florence's 10 cards in 3 hours class. *Hint: come 15 mins prior to class, do the glueing at home & only finish the essentials in class or you will never leave! Also 15% off on all items you purchase the day you take a class. The store also make gift baskets for all occasions & custom wedding invitations. Pointer also has a reward card program. Everytime you purchase an item you will be able to accumulate & earn $25 reward in products. I joined their VIP Club as I purchased much of my card making items from them. The annual fee is $25. So what do you get?... - 10% off all purchases - 20 % off one entire purchase during birthday month - two friday night crops free - take 3 classes and get one free - special coupon every month (sometimes there are 40% off coupons) - VIP member specials on special events. My fav product from the store would prob. be the Zip Dry Paper Glue. Perfect for paper crafts as the glue will not cause your paper to wrinkle. Stock up if you are an avid scrap/card maker. Lots of parking at the back.

Stop me from coming here. Seriously. I cannot spend more money on craft stuff I don't use!!!…read more Pointers is a scrap booking and paper crafts store and more. They have a lot of variety and choice on papers, stamps, everything. It's a little hard to find when you're not actively looking for it, but it's in a pocket plaza on the side. Working at Michaels, I do quite a few comparisons while shopping at both. - Michaels is a lot more expensive when not using a coupon, while Pointers offers good and affordable deals. There's also a clearance/sales section that is super cool. - Michaels only offers the big name brands and their own line of products. I find that Pointers has a lot more variety in stamps and everything related to scrapbooking - While Michaels is not super modern, I do find that Pointers offers more traditional and "classic" products. Not knocking it down, but I do not like ugly illustrations with curly type that says "you're brighter than a star" on my stamps (I made that one up, but I'm pretty sure I can find something similar to that) I did a lot of comparisons, but I think it is a good way to illustrate that Pointers is an amazing place. I frequently recommend customers here when they can't find what they're looking for at our store. Service is very nice and I notice that they have a lot of classes and loyal customers. Definitely recommended for all your scrapbooking needs.

I recently came across fluid bears on social media, and it looked like such a fun and unique…read moreactivity. My friend and I booked through an Instagram direct message and went during their "buy one, get one free" promotion for the fluid bear. The bears come in many sizes, and prices increase accordingly (keychain $22, 7" $58, 9" $68, 13" $108, 21" $168, 1 mini bear and canvas $38, and 2 mini bears and canvas $48). On the website, it also lists how long each project is expected to take. They also have pom-pom canvases and bags. The pom-pom canvases are: 8 x 8" $58, 12 x 12" $68, 18" x 18" $88, 18" x 23" $108, 23" x 23" $168, and 40" x 40" $328. The pom-pom bags are: A4 $88, A3 $108, and B5 $68. When we arrived and checked in for our reservation, an employee showed us the different-sized bears, and there were even some that were sitting or leaning back in addition to the standing ones. He gave us some time to decide, and then we also chose paint colours. We weren't sure what colours we wanted, so he showed us photos of previous customers' projects. We were set up at a table with aprons, our chosen paint colours, our bear on a tray, and even given a hair tie if we didn't have one with us to keep our hair out of the way. The employee showed us how to pour and mix our different paint colours and then pour them on our bears. The first pour was definitely the best one for me. The colours and patterns were astounding. Sometimes the paint doesn't completely cover the bear as it drips down, so they provide a plastic spoon to fill in those spots. The last thing before paying was deciding whether or not we wanted the bears to have a matte or gloss finish. Also, there's no tax if you pay in cash. We were informed that our bears would be ready for pickup in two to three days, and I did get a text informing me that our bears were ready within two days. I wasn't sure how to transport my finished bear home. It turns out that they put them in a case for you.   Overall, my friend and I really enjoyed our fluid bear experience. instagram: https://www.instagram.com/whitebear_trt/ website: https://www.whitebeardiy.com/

This event took place on June 22, 2024. The event was free. There was an early bird deal where you could purchase a $20 ticket ($5 off the regular price) to get VIP access. It meant that you got a timed entry slot to arrive instead of waiting in line. You also got an exclusive Happy Cute Mart tote and a plush keychain. I went for VIP access. My timed entry was between noon and 2 pm. I had no problem driving over to Thornhill Community Centre. I have passed by it often over the years, but had never dropped by until yesterday. Parking was busy due to this event, along with community centre activities and folks studying at the library. I managed to nab a parking spot near the west entrance of the community centre. I then headed over to line up. The south entrance was the entry-exit point for this event. I had bought my VIP ticket so long ago that I forgot that I didn't need to wait in line. I bolted out of the lineup once I made that realization and hit the right side of the south entrance. A man greeted me. He let me know that the table with the yellow tote bags was where I'd get my VIP ticket's QR code scanned. Nice! I got my ticket scanned. I got a cute tote bag with a small plushie keychain in it. I got confused when the two women said that I could buy merchandise further down the table. I declined and went in. This event had over 85 vendors. There were snacks and food for purchase when I started. I wanted all that towards the end of my stay. The variety was great, but everything sold out quickly. I was shopping and browsing, doing my thing. I heard my name. It was Queenie who spotted me from a distance. It's pretty cool when you have a good relationship with a plushie pusher... haha! She wanted to say hi. She could tell that I got VIP access holding my cheerful yellow tote in hand. The vendor variety was amazing. I can't list all of them, but I will list those that I ended up making purchases, in buying order: - Flair Fighter - waterproof stickers (BMO, Hello Kitty, Keroppi, and Ditto) - Paige Draws - crocheted bear - The CroChic Shop - crocheted keychains (Grogu, R2-D2, and Patrick Star) - BathBunny - Miffy plushie and keychain - YenYen Design - penguin stickers - Honograms - kewpie mayo plushie - The Little Bird Designs - gummy bears belt bag - Sterling Six Threads - McDonald's popsicle characters t-shirt - Little Bakes of Kindness - colossal cookies and mini sausage buns - Queenie's Cards - Penny the pineapple bun plushies This event was well-organized. It did get a little congested with customers standing there while others were trying to pass by in the middle row. Otherwise, it was great speaking with new vendors and saying hi to a couple of familiar ones. Queenie had a Kickstarter for Penny the pineapple bun plushie. Her Kickstarters generally exceed the targeted pledge goal because her designs are cute. Shipping was factored into the price of each plushie. However, those who were coming to this event could opt to pick their goodies here. I did just that. She asked me how many additional Penny plushies I wanted, to make up for the shipping cost in my pledge. I wasn't greedy and opted for one. Before I left this show, I asked Queenie if I could pick up my plushies. She didn't give me two. I got six. Holy cow! It was incredibly generous of her. It also speaks volumes on how great our relationship is. I will keep two. I need to give four away to good homes. I'm extremely happy with my purchases. Some other highlights: - My gummy bears belt bag has two pockets in addition to the main one. The strap is also long. I love it. It's the perfect belt bag for me because I wear it more as a crossbody bag. - The mini sausage buns were on the secret menu. I originally wanted a box featuring mochi cookies and pineapple buns. They were sold out when I returned. I did get two colossal cookies. Both the sausage buns and cookies were delicious! - The three folks at Paige Draws were all undergraduate students. There was a sign that said to support them through university... haha I had a wonderful time. Now, I'm poor! I'm pleased with my purchases and look forward to this event next year. (241)

My application was rejected but they allowed a vendor from Calgary to fly-in and vend here in the same category simply because she is Asian. Just mention in the application that is your policy so other people can save their time and energy in application. I would support events that allows local vendors to vend. Think about the environmental cost of flying-in to vend! If every race starts limiting events to their own race people this is not a mosaic you are creating!
