I've been a patient with Dr. Amir Khan (Pulmonology) and David Mason (Thoracic Surgeon) since 2012. I initially began seeing Dr. Khan in an effort to manage my Tracheal Stenosis. Over time, my respiratory health continued to de line and he referred me to a Thoracic Surgeon for further treatment. Over the past few years, I have had several Broncoscopes with balloon dilation. This year, I was forced to make the hard decision to install a permanent tracheostomy. My trach has increased my quality of life ten-fold. I am able to truly live again and not be tied down at home on continuous oxygen therapy. As a matter of fact, on January 12, 2020 my family and I will board the Carnival Freedom for a seven day Caribbean Cruise to the Bahamas. Absolutely horrible. Took them 6 months to do a sleep study, get me approved, and get my apap machine. This is no exaggeration! Today they called ME telling me I need to schedule a virtual visit due to insurance requirements and was told a virtual appointment for me for todayat 2:45. Well, I never got the link they said they'd send and no one ever called me and it's now 4:30. Apparently insurance doesn't require this too badly or they would have scheduled it as they said. I don't like being lied too!! If you say you're gonna do something...do it!! And good luck getting through. EVERY time I call, noone ever answers! I'm tempted to take the machine back and say forget it!! I can't sit and wait all day until you decide to call, which never happens! Such incompetence at this place!! This place was great until all the Drs stopped practicing in the clinic and now you will only see the physicians assistance so if there's anything severe, they just talked to the doctor I was told and come back with the answer not what we signed up for in the beginning. read more

I stopped going to the Waxahachie clinic as appointments would run 1-2 hours late. And when you do get taken to a room it still takes 30-40 minutes for anyone to see you. Didn't ever really see a doctor, usually a PA. Reception staff were rude and inefficient. read more

I am a current patient at Pulmonics Plus in Waxahachie. Right off the bat---I had an appointment for a sleep study. I was to arrive at 9:00pm and ring the doorbell. Nobody was there. Another person was also waiting. He also lived about 50 minutes away. I called all the phone numbers I had but none were answered. I did leave a message reminding them of their policy of charging $200 for no-show patients and asked if I should charge them for their no-show staff. The next day they rescheduled me for about a week later. Even though I am a Medicare patient with Plan G medi-gap, I had an issue involving a payment that was due. The young lady I talked with was not able to understand the issues. Finally I gave up and told her, "you are not listening to me and don't seem to understand so I need to talk with your supervisor." She put me on hold and said her supervisor was fixing to go into a meeting and would call me back the next day. Of course, she/he never called me back. I finally made some phone calls to clear up the issues but I should not have to do that. It was her job but she would not do it. The Nurse Practitioner, Brenda, is delightful and very professional. She is probably why I have continued to go to this provider. Also, I have had one telephone visit with the Pulmonist and he seemed very nice. I guess to summarize my experience with this group, be prepared for some surprises. Healthcare is simply not what it use to be when I was younger. read more

When you can actually speak to someone, they can SOMETIMES help. My last 5 appointments have been 1.5-2hrs late. I've had to cancel due to how late the providers are, and half the appointments are televisits. The other half, I drive 45minutes to get to the clinic only to wait an additional 60min to even get back in a room, and then 30-60 minutes for the doctor to come in. When I do get to see one of the providers, most convince me it's a me problem that I'm not getting good sleep and that the c-pap is the only solution, when it's clearly not working. When we go over results of my sleep studies, they ask me what prescriptions, sleep masks, and machine settings I'm using when THEY are the ones that prescribed them, and they supposedly have "remote access" on their end to see the results they are asking me about. When I call to get medications refilled, it usually takes two weeks and a daily call from me to get them to send my medications in. Then, they 10/10 times send it to the wrong pharmacy and you have to go through the process to get it fixed on the pharmacy end. They're website/app is absolutely useless, not updated , and you can never get ahold of anyone through the messaging. If you have the option to go to another clinic, I highly recommend it. You are just a number here, and they do not actually care to help you with your issues. read more

I have been coming here for asthma for a couple years. It's always easy to get an appointment and they have a lot of staff and a lot of capabilities in house. They also do a good job of listening and taking my questions seriously. In fact they even take payment upfront and have never sent me a surprise bill which I can't say for any other doctor I've visited in my life. We should model more medical offices after the people here. read more

I've been going to Dr. Khan for over 2 years now, and he's amazing! He's extremely knowledgeable, personable, and the has helped with my asthma and allergies tremendously! The only reason this isn't 5 stars is the front office staff; they're inconsistent in their customer service frequently. There are two nurses that are incredible every single time, Sabrina and Hannah. Sabrina even asked about my Memaw (who is a new patient) today. Another thing I love about Dr. Kahn is he's a teaching Doctor! There are interns that come in to learn from him, which is awesome! Overall, go see Dr. Khan; he will help whatever is ailing you! read more

After seeing several Pulmonologist and getting no where but the run around, I came across Dr. Amir M Khan, after reading his reviews, I was quite impress and decided to give him the opportunity to help me. On meeting Dr. Khan," I must admit i was a little skeptical", but, right away I could discern his fervent spirit of zeal. We set the date for biopsy of my lung. Took about 30-35 min. Took samples of my lung tissue. Everything came out great. We set a time to monitor every several mos. He surely, in a metaphorically sense" a Panther. Dr. Amir M. I did a 1-month externship at Pulmonics Plus in august 2021, and I really enjoyed the valuable time I spent here. The staff is very polite, friendly and co-operative and I really felt at hime during the externship. There was a lot to learn during the rotation, and the Pulmonics team made sure each patient left with a smile on their face. Dr. Khan was a very brilliant teacher and humble person, and I am glad I had the opportunity to shadow such an innovative and caring doctor. I went to Dr. Ijaz for a cough that just won't go away. He was amazing. He spoke with me for at least 30 minutes and actually asked questions to find out what might be wrong. He was very caring and very thoughtful. I highly recommend him for any pulmonary problems. read more

I have given this doctor's offices great reviews in the past but today, it was one of the worst scheduling I have ever seen. Not only was I there 1hour and forty minutes past my appointment time, the waiting room was filling up again with people much sicker than myself and people arriving after me were getting seen ahead of me. Finally, after over an hour and a half past my appointment time I had to leave because the office was filling up again with people much sicker than me and I had another appointment. This is totally unacceptable despite the pandemic other doctors run their offices much more efficiently. These people have to take a realistic look at the time it takes to adequately treat a patient and stop living in some utopian reality. This is a shame because I like Dr. Kahn and his assistants I would hate to start over with someone else, but I'm afraid I have no choice if I want to be treated form my pulmonary disease in a more efficient way. read more
