While stuck in Olney, we decided to venture out to eat. My husband wanted to eat at the HV's Food…read moreand Spirits (https://www.yelp.com/biz/hvs-food-and-spirits-olney) the restaurant next door, but he never objects to Mexican food. We ended up here as a last minute decision. I noticed the $2.99 blue margarita special as I walked in, so guess what I had? You guessed it. At first I was hesitant on ordering the drink special, because commonly places premix the featured drink special and they end up weak. Not here! I'm happy to report, the blue margaritas were on point. I ordered the Mexicano Burritos and requested cheese sauce instead of the red sauce. Although it was tasty and I enjoyed my meal, the beef inside was more like pulled beef, pot roast maybe. The menu described it was beef tips, so what I received was not what I expected. The worst thing was the service. I was finished with my drink before the food arrived, and still hadn't spotted our waiter even after I finished my burritos. Finally another waiter walked by and I asked for our waiter, instead he graciously got me another blue marg. Then we spotted our waiter walk in with his coat on. I'm not sure if he left, or just went outside for a break. Whatever the case, he went MIA on us.

The vibe is all over the place. You can either go casual or go for prom/date night! It's got a nice rustic elegance to it that is perfect. There are some traditional items along the wall based off the last time I was in here and it was always nice to look at. Every booth has something unique to it so if you got seated somewhere new you'd either have a new item or painting to really admire. Overall I give this place a 10/10 because coming from Florida this place has the most of traditional Mexican foods here in the Midwest!

Los Jardins We…read morevisited Los Jardins on a Sunday evening, as most other restaurants were closed on Sunday's in Robinson. We were seated right away and greeted by our server quickly. The extensive menu contained typical tex-mex fare. I chose the beef burrito plate with rice and beans. The burrito and rice were OK, but the beans were a bit more liquid and soupy. Just OK tex-mex food.

The last time i went in and ate the service was quick and timely and not rushed. Everyone was nice and never saw a rude person there. It was also clean and fairly up to standards, however there were some tables that were not cleared from the time I entered to the time I got my food. So the pace of the cleaning could improve, but this was a couple years ago so it could have changed since then. The style is very different from the other Mexican restaurant in town. It is more modernized, with tiles, but also more chatty. I gave a 4/5 because of the starting statement. Overall not bad at all and if you want to take your family out to eat I suggest this place for Mexican food and for date night the other place.

The service was a bit slow, both to take our order and to serve our food. However, the food was good on both occasions. First, I had the tamale dinner. It was good, but not the best tamales I've ever had. For the second visit, I had the Javi's plate. It was combination of shrimp, chicken, and beef, mixed with vegetables and cheese sauce. It was excellent. Definitely will be back if I'm in Robinson again.

I like Golden Corral because, for their breakfast, they have an eggs to order station but, unfortunately, the entire time we were there, no one was manning that station. Scrambled eggs are on the buffet, but they are usually "bag eggs" -- not really scrambled in a skillet. They have grits which is a plus for me -- these had an odd taste and I suspect someone added sugar to the pot. The ham was very tasty. The biscuits were warm, but hard. Pancakes were great. Our server was wonderful, keeping our cups and glasses full. It was close to the lunch change over time, so there were plenty of food options. We would probably stop again when traveling, given the very limited breakfast options in Effingham.
