    Beautiful Day!
    Michael S.

Wonderful golf course in the Western part of the Piedmont where there is rolling countryside and the peaceful quietness of nature! What was once an old dairy farm, now it's a beautiful open concept golf course! With an old silo or two that's in the middle of the fairways, the charm of this course is unmistakable! Over the years of playing this course I can say, if it's been raining for a couple of days, this course can be quite mushy!

There was no one in the tee box when we were told to skip a hole to speed up play.

A very nice manicured course and yes there are areas under repair. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer course anywhere for the value.

The clubhouse and range where nice, but it was not until I rolled some putts on the putting green that my hopes started to rise. They had bent grass that was smooth and blazing fast. The staff were all great. Very friendly and everything you'd hope for at any level course. The course is fantastic. I'd say it has about 3 semi weak holes and even those were fun to play. The overall condition was excellent. The green were amazingly good. The sand in some of the green side bunkers were just ok, but in every other respect this track was so enjoyable to play. The views were stunning. My only regret was my choice of tees. I'm a low handicap senior. I chose the blue tees, which would have been fine with summer roll, but the course proved a bit too tough for me given the softer fall / winter conditions. Don't make my stupid mistake. I can't wait to return to this terrific golf course.

Land on which 6 of the 18 holes were set have been sold to a developer, so the course now has a "Farm Side" 6 holes and a "Lake Side" 6 holes, with an additional set of tees on the Farm Side so that you can play a standard 18 holes if you wish. We recently played 12 holes on a cold and windy February afternoon and had a good time. The course was in winter condition so we just had a good time and didn't worry about rolling in 20 foot putts on the reglar. The lake only comes into play on one hole but provides a scenic backdrop to many. Many holes run through mature woods providing definition to the fairways and a bit of intimidation. There is a bit of up and down but the course is walkable which is a plus. We paid $18/each to ride 12 holes on a weekend. The facilities are nice. The pro shop is not overstocked and has the essentials you need to play the game. The dining room is newly renovated and spacious. We enjoyed a hot dog and tater tots from Boone Doggies Hot Dogs which has expanded there from their Yandkinville location. All in all this is a nice, relaxed, and affordable course for beginners, ladies, kids, and hackers like me that don't need the stress of trying to carry 200 yards over water or navigate a bunch of bunkers. Looking forward to our next round when it warms up a bit.

The location is very easy to find just off I-40 in Bermuda Run. However, I took backroads since I was come from Lewisville where I live. I provided my name and organization when I arrived at the gate and they directed me where to go. The clubhouse is in the center of the golf course which is bordered on one side by the Yadkin river. As you drive to the clubhouse, there are many houses on the streets that back up to the fairways and greens. The clubhouse is very large but I did not explore. There is a nice pro shop. Our work meeting was in the Diamond room which was a perfect size for our group of about 10. The meeting was very good and ended with lunch served about 1pm. Lunch included a side salad and your choice of chicken or salmon. I chose the chicken because I am not a fan of seafood. Everything was very timely and allowed us to continue our conversations. The chicken was very tender with a creamy sauce. It was on a bed of Ditalini pasta with a side of grilled veggies. After lunch, we were paired up and placed in teams of four. We proceeded to our carts and played nine holes. Some of our group continued on for 18 holes. The course is well kept with lots of traps around the greens. We had a dedicated drink cart and server keeping our group hydrated. We did get a short drizzle about hole 6 but there was not thunder or lightning. Overall this was good experience, the grounds, facility and service were great.
