We were traveling through Florida and stopped at the Publix on Old Dixie for a restroom break and some snacks. Place is on the smaller side, but it's extremely clean and well kept. The deli had a grab and go section... so we scooped up some tenders and a couple of the bites they had. Not the usual stuff from my Publix back home... they had a cheddar bacon potato bite and a mac and cheese bite. Both hit the spot. Bathrooms were clean, cashier was nice, and I grabbed a lotto ticket up front. Everyone we dealt with was professional and friendly. Cool Publix that is located in Halifax Plantation. Not the Publix I normally shop at, but I do stop here from time to time. Very friendly staff, and it is always clean. This store is smaller than most Publix stores, and they do not offer a self-checkout option. Still, a good place to grab what you need. worse pharmacy ever!!!!! do not go here if you need medication for chronic pain because it's very normal to wait a week plus for your medication here the staff is completely unorganized unprofessional and quite literally don't know anything that they're doing or talking about. I have not once been able to just walk in and get my medication and walk out. It's always some BS and frustration. They'll have you waiting in the store an hour and a half of your medication just to tell you in the end that they actually don't have it on them at all and they will order it for you but that takes a week plus .... Ever since I switched to this pharmacy, they literally make life miserable dealing with them..... never again will they get my business read more

Very disappointing experience at my local Publix today. I waited in line at customer service while two Publix employees - Cece and Debbie - went about their business. Cece was helping a customer while Debbie counted change and made change for a cashier at a check out line. That's all fine, but when two people came up to buy lottery tickets the second Publix employee, Debbie, stopped what she was doing to take care of them and ignored the people already in line. When I said that I didn't realize people buying lottery tickets got precedence over people waiting in line CeCe just said she was very sorry. I asked to speak with the store manager - Kevin Martin - but was told he wasn't in the store. Publix, if you're going to give preference to people buying lottery tickets over other customers needing help that are already waiting in line you should post a sign saying as much or have a dedicated line for lottery sales. I've found the employees at this Publix very nice and helpful in the past. I hope my experience today isn't indicative of things to come. read more

One of my more favorite locations. The employees all seem to really enjoy being at work, they're friendly and can be fun. The stock always looks awesome as if there are fairies coming through doing the front facing. It's very rare I need to dig for anything. read more

A smaller Publix location, complete dead zone for your cell phone and they didn't have the Sushi, which is what I was looking for. Luckily another Publix location wasn't to far away. On a positive note, employees are nice and the store is well stocked. read more

I was there this morning browsing in the wine section and I seen 2 rats run past me into a hole under the one of the shelves. Out of all the times I have been there i would never think they have rats. Im still in awe about the whole thing. read more

Deli department is SLOWWWW. We waited for 20 minutes for the guy to finish all the online orders first, completely ignore us. Then he condescendingly said to us that he had too much to do before he could make our sandwich. Unreal. I was shocked at the lack of fairness and customer service. This is a nice Publix by the beach. They have the most amazing sandwiches ! Check out the deli. Publix also has the best bakery around and I come here whenever I am visiting the East coast. The prices are higher than other supermarkets but it is so worth it as the quality is much better as well. If you are visiting Florida definitely come to Publix. read more

It's a grocery store that got wicked over hyped to me. I can't give you a pros and cons list because it's a grocery store, like Target grocery without the other part of Target and more groceries. It was clean, orderly (like most grocery stores) and the staff is out of their way friendly. Other than that I think it's more of a sense of pride for Southerners or maybe it is an upgrade for Southerners as perhaps a lot of the other grocery chains are really dirty and gross? Being from LA I didn't notice a difference between our grocery stores and Publix. It actually looked larger and more intimidating like a Costco to me. Major commitment in the South to shop for groceries. I gave it a 4th star as my wife is from the South and would not be happy with a 3 star review from me. I have been going to Publix since I was a child with my family in the early 1960's and this one at Roscommon Drive in Ormond Beach is the most poorly managed and run store I have ever shopped in whether it be grocery or other, Publix, Winn Dixie or other. It is often out of stock of the most common items, the milk and many other perishable items are often close to the expiration dates, the wait for deli products is interminable, the managers in the past would be smoking at the picnic table at the entrance to the store and some employees continue that tradition, checkout cashiers are often involved in conversation with one another while ignoring the customers, many items are not on the shelves but can be found in the back storage and just don't get moved into the store in a timely manner, the aisles are often cluttered and impassable due to displays in the middle of the passageways and to employees stocking shelves or standing around having conversation with one another, and on and on and on. Unfortunately we live in Plantation Bay and can't always drive the extra miles to get to the other Publix's or Winn Dixie. read more

The pharmacy is a nightmare. Everytime I go they get my order wrong. Even when I am right there telling them what I ordered, someone manages to screw it up. Not wasting another minute with them. The only perk is that the supervisor is quick to fix the mistakes. The rest of the store is good. read more

Publix definitely wants to monopolize the food store market in South Florida. Overall the private label products are good quality and bang for the buck. Stores are clean and organized. Maybe it's good we don't have a lot of choices... It keeps this organization to keep its bar high to maintain its market share! read more

This store is a JOKE. Just did my weekly shopping and you were out of half the things I came in for. Way too many empty spots, I cant wrap my head around it. Do you even do inventory and check what what is out of stock? I went to meat dept for a custom cut, which you are known for and was given an attitude for inconveniencing the butcher. This was after I witnessed a similar attitude when a customer before me asked why they were always out of an item. At this point Publix is Comparable to Walmart, actually I will go out've my way to go there for now on. I wish Trader Joes was closer, at least everyone there is always in a pleasant mood and has what I need. Very disappointed in Publix nowadays. read more

Clean, newer smaller Publix- I've been a regular Florida Publix customer since moving to Sarasota in 1989. Usually much better than Winn Dixie- Cleaner, free wi-fi and generally feels like a step-up. I've been shopping exclusively at this Publix since October after moving to Plantation Bay. Most employees are friendly and professional as one expects. However, if I could give Zero Stars to their Deli operation, I certainly would: It's general chaos, even when not busy. They never use the number tickets- NEVER. Half of the employees back there are fantastic, the other half snipe at each other, ignore you when you've been standing there patiently waiting, allow others to cut in front of you in the sub line by simply moving to the hot meals case (where they serve you right away) and ordering a sub from there (nice trick pulled on me last night). I was the 3rd person in the entire area when I arrived last night- I was being served in the deli, the other was ordering subs and I wanted a sub, so I stood behind the first person in the sub line. Then about 5-6 people form a line behind the hot meals case and as soon as the girl assisting the deli customer was through, where does she go? Right to the hot meals case despite the fact I had been standing there at least 15 minutes in the sub line (the one person ahead of me in that line was ordering multiple whole subs, including steak and cheese which take forever to make). She then proceeds to take care of everyone in that line, including the aforementioned woman who had the smarts (and gall) to realize the sub line was for losers like myself, orders a chicken tender sub from the hot food case and she proceeds to make her a sub right in front of me. After 20-25 minutes of standing there like an idiot, fuming mad, listening to the useless guy preparing chicken tenders comment to his co-workers, "gee, they really messed the schedule up tonight"! Hey dude, how about stopping what you were doing and ask if you could help me? That would be novel, he only looked at me multiple times during this ordeal. When It's finally my turn, no apology, no acknowledgement that I had been standing there 25 minutes, NOTHING. I took the subs (at this point, I'm 30 minutes time spent there) and asked to speak with the manager up front, something I have never done at any grocery store, ever. He was nice and said he'd comp one of the subs and would speak with the deli manager (nowhere in sight the entire time I was there) right away. Can't fault his response and I'm really appreciate of his actions but they absolutely have to fix this department. If you're not going with the numbers system, know who is next (or at least ask), teach your employees to drop what they are dong when there's a backlog, stop making a simple trip to the deli a tiring, tedious chore. read more
