Publix used to be the place to go for some great sales. Guaranteed clean stores and helpful staff were their hallmarks. Clean stores and helpful staff are still there, but the sales are somewhat suspect and often lacking. A few cases to highlight these issues: * They occasionally have my favorite IPA beer on BOGO and since I get the sneak peek ads a day before the sale starts, I know enough to hot-trot it down to the store at 7:00 am on Thursday (the day sales start). This is what I usually will find: 1) They'll have just one carton of the beer and no more. Really? It's a BOGO sale and you have just one carton in the store? 2) They won't have it at all, just a green "apologies" sign with a note to see customer service about getting a slip allowing for a BOGO in the future. Problem is, local laws don't allow for those future slips on beer or tobacco products. * Or they'll have an item on BOGO but the initial pricing appears grossly inflated. In a recent case, they had a BOGO on a name brand peanut butter. Essentially, two for $9.99 which means the first one is close to $10. Yet Winn Dixie sells the same size and brand for just $5.99 everyday. True, I'm saving a couple bucks overall but something seems a bit off on the pricing. Things that make you go, "hmmmmm". * And then comes the matter of BOGO sales. Notice that BOGO stands for Buy One, Get One, right? So why do you have uneven numbers of those items in stock? If you have 15 items in stock, that means 7 customers get the prize, the last one gets screwed. * Then comes the store brand pricing. If the name brand sells for a certain price, what makes you think the Publix brand should sell for more? I recently noticed that on a soap product where the name brand was 50 cents less than the Publix brand, for the same size and quantity. * At one time, if something was in an ad all Publix stores carried it. Not anymore, apparently. Recently I went to a store to get potato chips on sale only to discover that this Publix didn't carry that brand at all, yet the store about 2 miles away did. So, I went back to the ad only to discover the small print at the bottom, "not all brands are available at all stores". If you think I'm going to drive to different stores, you're crazy. Gas is too expensive for that hassle. I guess that leaves me with Winn Dixie, Harveys or Aldis. read more

I have been to this location multiple times and I feel like every time is a toss up on whether it's good or bad. Publix really needs to consider upgrading this store tbh because the other publix's in the area have already been updated and a recent one just opened not too long ago. I would love to see this location turn into a Greenwise if were being honest. read more

The staff here is great. They are very friendly and always ready to help. The fruit is always fresh.

Approximately at 1:30P.M. On December 12,2024 I was purchasing lunch for my boss, and co worker I did a separate transactions obviously and bagging and separating everything making sure I'm organizing everything correctly, I went to self check out, whoever was there I felt like I was being watched heavily, the worker even blocked my way out I saw as if I was trying to steal something, which I was not, I worked retail security for many years and law enforcement so I felt insulted especially for hot food I just ordered. I was being watched heavily and it made me feel uncomfortable and on top of that I was being blocked in and I haven't even finished my purchase. Meanwhile other customers who were white weren't bothered at all or looked at as heavily as I was in this moment, I felt very uncomfortable and as if I'm being watched because the color of my skin, which is sad. So wring the review in warning TO ANYONE WHO GOES TO THIS PUBLIX AND YOUR NOT WHITE! YOU WOULD BE HEAVILY WATCHED OVER AND HOVERED OVER! I would go to a different Publix location. Extremely racist and sad that because of the color of my skin I get heavily watched over meanwhile everyone else who is not of color at the time(white) was able to peacefully shop and do there own self check out peacefully. read more

This is a pretty solid Publix. We stopped in to get a sandwich on our drive from Orlando to St. Petersburg and it's really big and clean. I wasn't that into the sandwiches; I think I'm spoiled in California as it was surprising to me that none of them came with bacon or avocado, let alone both! So, I opted not to get one. My boyfriend got the Asian BBQ one which he thought was OK. There wasn't anything 'Asian' about it he said; it was just normal BBQ sauce. I opted for the potato wedges which were gigantic, but weren't very warm; you could tell they had been sitting out for awhile. I had no idea what a potato ball was, so I had to try that... I love potatoes. It was OK. The breading was a bit too much and a bit hard, and the mince meat in the middle wasn't very good. I do think the general idea of these things could be really good if done with better quality ingredients. I could definitely see this at some hipster restaurant with like braised pork belly or something. We also got a package of deviled eggs which were straight up gross that we couldn't eat them. The rest of the supermarket seemed really nice and bright and cheery with lots of options. The bakery section looked really cool too. I loved the turkey-shaped cake! How unique! read more

I just love Publix, their products and the great customer service I always recieve! I'm here in Lakeland, I call this the Publix City because there are literallly blocks, and blocks, and bloooooocks of Publix warehouses and the infamous Publix Cake that graces the sky. This location is no different than the ones in Jacksonville, Tampa or Miami. The store was clean, all of the employees I encountered were courteous and I was in and out in no time. Thank you Publix for knowing how to hire people that represent your brand well. read more

I had a surprise birthday party for my wonderful Fiancée on 02/26/2017. However, it started with the cake(s). I called Publix Bakery at this location and spoke to Mr. Jacob. Jacob was great and accurate with his information. It was a pleasure speaking to him, even when I was a little indecisive. I ordered 2 birthday cakes for that special day. The first one was a 7" inch carrot cake with purple writing that stated "Happy Birthday J_____. The second cake was a regular vanilla with butter cream frosting quarter sheet cake with purple and blue roses that stated "For the rest of us." The cakes were ready for pick up on time. They were beautiful and my fiancée and family were totally happy with them. Many thanks Mr. Jacob for making my fiancée's birthday a great success. Everyone knows that people come to a birthday party for the cake. Oh, by the way, the cakes were just as delicious as they were beautiful. We used to shop at this Publix until it turned into a ghetto store. A lot of the clientele are rude and nasty. It reminds me of the old Wabash store. When going to other Publix stores and telling them of our experience, without saying what store it is we are talking about they automatically say "must be the Griffin Rd. store". The employees are great and I feel sorry for them having to deal with these rude customers. read more

Good place. More quality food than other places here. Sushi. Only bad thing is this location is north Lakeland and some of the North Lakeland white trash are just rude and some dangerous. I stay out of lesser places because of this. I may have to shop at a better address. read more

Why do they even have a 10 item or less checkout line when they constantly let people with 15 or 20 or even more check out and slow down those lines? The sign us right there! Why can't they say to people politely that they need to go to the regular line? Or just remove the line. read more

The white old guy in the seafood dept is so rude!!! I called to place an order to have snowcrab legs steamed. Before I could finish my sentence he yells at me that everything was put away. This is not my favorite Publix. I often stop here as I am back and forth to Kathleen. I find there are less offers to aid in taking my groceries to the car, (a big help when you have disabilities). The store is laid out differently and the people that work here are not as friendly with smiles and attitude that are sorely lacking. read more
