Hello.I recently resigned from store number 760 .I was racially harassed and the cameras can prove it. I was constantly coached on things I had already learned.Today on the date of 08/05/2018, I was called into the office as soon as my shift started at noon by Courtney the deli manager, Jen the newly promoted female manager, and Anne the assistant store manager. They gave me a coaching based off the biast and racially segregated opinion of harassing employees and paid absolutely no mind to the good that I have done with the customers. My mental health was so attacked, I had to leave because the predominantly white employees were so arrogant ill equipped to deal with someone genuinely willing to learn, yet not willing to "play dumb" for them to feel better about themselves. I had had prior experience, and was learning quite well and can not stand my good training not being noticed. Which brings me to the training: there was none for the most part. The people who were supposed to be training me obviously (that is,if anything Courtney,Jen and April were saying was true) clearly had a knack for being lazy and instead of telling me what I maybe did wrong and correcting me professionally, they prentended like nothing was wrong and later on when I was not looking wagged their tails back to the managers so I would look bad, and they would shine since all of them are clearly fighting for a higher position. Kiana was supposed to be my trainer and apparently "I am untrainable" according to the all white manager deli department. I wanted to be in Custumer service originally, but at this store that is only privileged for the sacred white people, save for one token black representative. I hated it here and they took no mercy out on me at all when I called out ONE TIME BEFORE MY SHIFT EVEN BEGAN, they were so mad they put me on for 2 days worth of work, ignoring my plea with Jen that my rent is almost a thousand a month with the apartment I share with my dad. This was disgusting behavior to me, and Anne even had the nerve to tell me rudely "not to dare play the race card", as if it is not blatantly obvious to everyone who walks into this publix the sheer segregation and ill treatment of newbies as well, especially of color. They are despicable human beings and I will jump through all the hoops necessary to ensure no "new meat", as the white employees so rudely put it, have to endure the same thing. There is a strong line between "playing a victim" and BEING one as history shows. Please fight for equality out of the goodness for humanity and equal treatment. Thank you and godbless. read more
