I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. It is great to see Publix expanding beyond the boundaries of their home state of Florida and spreading throughout the southeast. Publix hardly ever disappoints, though I have had issues with specific things in the past. In any case, ordered a birthday cake for our upcoming visit and went to Publix to pick it up; however, we went to the wrong Publix! The person who helped us in the bakery was very nice. He said that people get the two Publix's mixed up quite often, specifically since they are on the same road. He proceeded to call the other Publix to make sure they had our order, which they did! So there is an app for your phone called Fetch Rewards where if you scan any type of receipt and you are rewarded cash. We scan every receipt we can. While in Publix in Cocoa Beach we went through the self checkout and there was quite a few receipts in the trash cans. These receipts become abandoned when the person leaves them and they are trash. An employee named Evelyn got extremely mad when she saw us in the trash and ripped the trash can out of my husbands hands and said we could not use them. They are trash, they choose not to shred them. They will end up in a land fill eventually so what is the big issue? We will never go back to this store. They need to establish protocol for the abandoned receipts and teach Evelyn some people skills read more

Staff assist cashiers with bagging your groceries and will help you to your car if you need assistance. Store is always clean and stocked. Worst Publix I've ever been too. Still gets two stars because, well, it's still a Publix. It's set up opposite of most I've been to, making it hard to find things. Produce section is small. The staff is friendly, when you can find someone. The store itself looks old and is really needs a makeover. The standard things Publix will do for you if you ask, like breaking a package or a custom cut, it is nearly impossible to get this store to do. I have asked for a custom order at many other locations with no problem or hesitation. This store just doesn't want to follow the Publix way. Sad. So I went to this Publix 2 more miles down the road after my experience at the Cornerstone one where a cashier picked her nose while checking out my groceries. I called ahead and Yay they have self check out and they said it would be okay for me to go through with my big order. It was the first time I had been grocery shopping in 2 weeks. It was a most unpleasant experience though. I waited in line and the attendant of the self check out was very annoyed that I was going to check out my basket full of groceries instead of going in the line with the cashiers. Half of the self checkouts were closed. I had $420 worth of groceries in my cart. I was willing to take the time to check them out myself. And bag them myself. I requested for him to get me another cart and while he was doing that a Publix employee went to one of the self checkouts, sneezed into her hand, and then used the keypad. I spoke to her about it, and she just looked embarrassed, as well she should. I asked the attendant then to wipe down the self checkouts. Again he is annoyed. It was very stressful, And I know it is very stressful for your employees. But I do think there needs to be some educational programs for them or they should wear something over their mouth and nose. It may prevent them from putting their hands there. And they should respect the fact that people are trying to be so careful to not spread this and to not get this Covid. I had on a mask and had Lysol wipes for everything. I am 62 years old and I have asthma but otherwise I am in good shape. I take care of myself. However, I watched my dad die of lung disease and that is my worst fear. I will not be put down by an uneducated grocery worker. These two stores are in Cocoa Beach, Florida. I live here permanently. One of the sweetest folks work at this particular Publix. I tell them when I come in that they are simply an extension of my beach apartment! But towards the back between the hot meat department guys and one of the most knowledgeable seafood women that knows more the Ariel herself from The Little Mermaid reside is this very unhappy sushi chef who is the worst excuse with an attitude that makes me want to put him on a "Time Out" every time I see him. The rice is never cooked all the way, lacks the sweetness from the rice wine that is suppose to give sushi that unique Yin/Yank uniqueness. Yet, the people in Brevard not only buy it...but EAT IT!!! Some of my neighbors found out I was a chef and YES..sushi and I go way back to the early 80's when it became chic to put what was once in your kids fish tank, wrap it in what contains the mot minerals on the planet earth, add short grain rice with a sweet rice wine, use to wooden sticks and mmmmm. Depending who rolls it, is how this roll is accessorized.
