Just needed a few items to finish holiday baking and prep for brunch tomorrow. Today the produce looked a bit better than it has. I bought red grapes a few days ago and they already turned moldy. Trying green ones today as they felt firm. There's a nice selection of Holiday baked goods available uf you're not baking your own. The poinsettas were a decent size for $13.99. Better price than other local stores. Service was good. And folks were being patient. A few touches of Holiday decor was nice to see. read more

Every experience at this particular Publix has been very disappointing, I've shopped at Publix for years and now with this last experience, I will take my business elsewhere, I ordered 2 subs for my family and the brea was hard as a rock, so hard that it scratched the inside of my daughter's mouth and thats despicable. Got a 20 piece wings and it is the most disgusting set of wings ever. At least 5 of the drums were nothing but fried bones, no meat whatsoever. Another one was some unidentifiable bigger piece when bitten into was basically raw. Will never get chicken wings from them again. This small publix is well stocked and generally not crowded, which I love. I can often find everything I need here and love being able to get in and out without worrying about running into a business colleague. It has a few seedier stragglers from the beach/partying crowd, but everyone sticks to themselves. Checkout people are always nice and polite, which is not always the case at other Publix's in the area. It's a good hidden gem. They also stock a ton of prepared lunch options. read more

I come here often ever since I moved from California and have never experienced racism and rudeness from anyone until today. This black older cashier lady was so mean and rude to my wife for no reason. I'm a Hispanic person and my wife is Italian and we were blown away by her. I don't think she should be in the front dealing with customers with a attitude like that. I'm a business owner and i would fired my employees for that kind of behavior. Went in tonight and was in express checkout the lady was very kind. Ashton on the other hand was slamming baskets and clearly having a bad day taking it out on the cashier trying to check me out, making comments as she walked back and forth multiple times.... This publix is strange. The layout is so weird. But that probably just means this place hasn't always been publix. All the good stuff Publix is known for except much smaller. Great place to make a stop when packing a picnic for the beach. Getting out of the parking lot and back on beach blvd might require a little patience though. read more

Got a deli sub and the girl put RAW whole slices of bacon on my sub. Didn't microwave them put them in the toaster or anything fully cold bacon looks like just came out of the pack. So gross I used to work at a sandwich shop and even if the bacon is pre -cooked you still have to microwave it and the fact that the girl never asked me if I wanted it toasted/heated or anything just slapped cold ass bacon slices on my bread is disgusting ??? read more

While this isn't the best location around, it is up to Publix standards for sure. The store is kept super clean.... The staff is always friendly and you can always find someone to help you if you're in need.... Clean, great service levels and very convenient. Parking is adequate, and, they have a bike rack (hooray) for when I pedal over there to get just a couple of things. However, it's a small store, and the meat and vegetable selection is not great. What's there looks to be pretty good quality, and I have no complaints regarding the meat and vegetables I've actually purchased there, but there just isn't that big a selection. Prices seem a little higher than Winn-Dixie, and they're definitely higher than the Wal-Mart Super Center down Beach, but then you have to go to Wal-Mart, right? So, I look for the deals they have occasionally, and stock up accordingly. read more

Don't get me wrong - I LOVE PUBLIX! Heck, I even worked there for a few years when I was a teenager, but this model is my least favorite. I love that they have options for smaller markets & footprints, but the super tall/long aisles are just weird to me. They end up grouping things together in an aisle that you wouldn't necessarily see together in another Publix. I know the beach area missed their Publix when it moved from Pablo Plaza to Marsh Landing Parkway, so like any Publix opening, this one was welcomed with open arms. For a quick stop, it's perfect. For a full shopping trip, I tend to go to one where I know where everything is. read more

I stood there for about 10 minutes before I finally interjected and demanded their attention. They were still super slow and rude to me afterwards. Made me feel like a burden. Been to Publix for years, all over Jax. This store is BY far the worst as far as cashier customer service. For the second time today, this particular female cashier was rude to a customer - right in front of me. A woman had her groceries in front of him on the conveyor belt, still dozens of items left to be rung up. The guy set his basket with a few things on the belt, after the lady's stuff, and said he would be right back. A second lady came up in the 30 seconds he was gone, and the cashier removed his basket with his items and let the third person start unloading her items. The guy came back up - mind you, the FIRST woman's items weren't even all rang up yet - and the cashier said "I can't let you hold up the customers - you can go to the express lane" (which was were I was right next door). The guy was young, mixed race. I won't come to any conclusions, except to say if it was a white guy in a business suit, his basket wouldn't have been removed. Welcome to Atlantic Beach, where rich and white apparently trumps. I see a post here from a guy a few months back where they basically ignored him - probably for his less than conventional appearance. That's ok. Publix is a dying company. Trader Joe's is already killin the store south of here. read more

If you can find parking, good luck getting to the entrance without someone asking for money. Although this is out of managements control, opening more than three registers at 5:30 on a weeknight is not. Cutting labor to reduce overhead is understandable, but not at peak hours of operation. Consumers are already paying a premium to shop here. If we wanted to wait in line, we would go to a lower tier grocery for their prices. Do yourself a favor and drive a mile down Beach Boulevard to another Publix. It is abundantly clear that this location is not concerned with making shopping a 'pleasure'. read more

The deli is beyond slow. What is the point of ordering half an hour in advance online if you get there and stand for ten minutes--after the scheduled time, and still don't get your order (which is one sandwich)...? I realize work is tiring, but every deli employee here moves as if death is knocking at the door, sapping every ounce of energy they have available--with still 4 hours left until close. This is the only publix I have ever had this problem with, and many of the other employees there are wonderful and helpful. I still didn't get my sandwich, so I left. I cook 6 nights a week, and this has put quite the damper on my one night of enjoying food for which I don't have to wash pots and pans after... I called firehouse subs as I was walking out, and the most amazing thing happened: the sandwich was ready when I arrived there five minutes later. read more
