The eggs in this store are always expired over a month. All the other dairy products are close to expiration date. Prices do not fit the quality of product. Staff is not professional. Mentioned a few times to them to keep track of their expiration dates. Better drive a little further for decent groceries. read more

It was an unusual injectable, and when I picked it up she gave me precise instructions how to draw from ampule and then how to inject intramuscular. Publix pharmacy will always be my "go to". This is for their bakery. I received a custom cannoli cake. It looked and tasted outstanding. The cake was decorated to the 9's. I couldn't believe it came from a grocery store. Love the store, bakery really let us down. First of all the woman on the phone when ordering acted like we were bothering her. When we asked should we call back another time she assured us no. We ordered a very simple Chantilly cake, something they make all the time and sell in their bakery every day. This time we requested to have it decorated for our 1 year old grand daughters birthday. The bakery really went all out, we received NOTHING. She wrote Happy Birthday on the cardboard in basically the same color as the cardboard. NO effort put in at all. Thanks to Ingles we were able to purchase the decorating items needed to make it a little more of a special day. If your going to sell this service in the store I suggest you start putting some effort into it. read more

The ugliest birthday cake ever - 3 drabby balloons and HB in the middle. Don't ever let PAM ever take your order at the bakery if you call ! It took them 10 minutes to even find the cake, nobody could remember taking the order or making the cake. Somebody finally found it in the "back". I will NEVER order another cake from you again - what a waste of money and a disappointment to the birthday boy! I should have left the cake at the store without purchasing - really Publix I expected more from you. Wish I had read the other bad reviews on your bakery first so I could have spent my money elsewhere. Please hire some decorators that care about doing a good job ! read more

This store is the cleanest grocery store I have ever Shopped in. All the people that work there are extremely friendly and very helpful. Their produce is beautiful although it is priced rather high. EXCELLENT customer service. Mgt. is always available and friendly. The store (the whole chain, actually) will give you an item free if it does not ring up with the advertised discounted price. One time, I got an item that the weekly flyer said was on sale. But when I went to pay for it, the sale was not applied. Management went and checked and the sale was not posted on the item and it didn't ring up as on sale, so they didn't charge me for the item. Also, if you're a coupon junky and the store is out of an item, they will give you a rain check that honors that coupon amount, even after the coupon has expired. The men who work in the meat dept. are fun! They'll sit and chat with you and have plenty of recipe advice. The restroom has ALWAYS been clean in all the nine years I have shopped there. I shop here about once a week. They have really good sales! My favorite thing about shopping here is the store associates. They are very welcoming and always ask if you need help and they are always smiling. Some of them even know me by name! It really makes all the difference in my shopping experience. This is just over all a great store. I usually do not purchase beef or poultry here as those specific items are always overpriced in comparison to the competition. So this definitely is not my one stop shop, but I wish it was! read more

The best major chain supermarket in the area by far. Most of their private label goods rival national brands. The sub shop in the Deli is excellent. Purchased several birthday/occasion cakes from the bakery - perfect transactions. Well thought-out merchandising make it possible to get the basics and they usually have what you need for that off the wall recipe too. read more

This is definitely the place to pick up a more gourmet dessert and beautiful flowers to make a lovely romantic evening! The customer service is exquisite! No matter how many bags I maybe taking out to the car I always get asked if I would like any help taking my groceries to the car. The store is always clean and if someone cannot answer your question they will find someone that can! However, the past few weeks have been disappointing and not sure that we'll be going back there to pick up our weekly wing night. I love Publix. It can be a little pricey but you can't beat the buy 1 get 1 free specials. Plus they have excellent customer service which you can't put a price tag on. They always let you sample at the deli and the kids love the free cookies. The guys bagging my groceries insisted upon helping pack them in my car. No other grocery store that I know of does that. Went to Deli yesterday and waited for over 10 mins. While that was happening I was observing the mess right in the sub making area. Old looking lettuce, knives with mayo inside a lettuce container, dirty glove sitting on cutting board. Just not what you would expect at a Publix. When the staff finally came over, she seemed like she did not want to be there. I asked for three subs on wheat and her response was they didn't have wheat bread. When I asked a question about how long to get more bread, she replied 2 hours with attitude. I am visiting this city and unfortunately have had a bad experience everywhere in terms of food. I used to live in Lakeland, FL and it was a pleasure to shop there but ever since I moved to SC and started visiting the Publix Poplars Plaza has been a horrible experience. The main department with the issues is the Deli Department. If you go in person, the employees are rude and you feel like you are bothering them. I love shopping at Publix and like to get subs on Sunday's before the game but the past few trips have been really disappointing. The setup is really inefficient, especially if two people are working, which you need when it's busy. It looked like a manager was working the station but she was visibly not in a good mood and when I ordered my sub, roast beef with lettuce and tomato and onion and vinegar, she put on my vinegar before the lettuce and originally loaded on onions as if they were lettuce until I asked her to lighten it up. I love the fact that they have a sub station, but if you're going to work it, take pride in what you do. Clearly that's not how you make a sub and it's very frustrating when you can't build the sandwich yourself so you are forced into having to put it in the hands of someone else who isn't really interested in making sure it's good. I still love Publix and won't stop shopping there. Just wish they cared a little more about the sub station.... later when I unwrapped my sub, I found a raw mushroom, so... read more

On August 11th I hosted a party for my brother and new wife in Inman,SC. I knew this party was going to be difficult for me to plan since I live in Stockbridge,GA. I chose to drive 30 miles out of my way to shop at the Duncan,SC Publix. I knew the products I needed would be quality based on my experience at the Stockbridge Publix. I ordered a 3/4 sheet cake with instructions to make it look as much like a wedding cake as possible and a croissant sandwich tray. My plans were to also purchase shrimp and deli meats as well. Little did I know about the customer service I was going to encounter when I arrived after traveling from Atlanta. It was not good, or awesome.....it was over the top amazing!!!! The gentleman in the seafood dept explained to me how to thaw the shrimp as well as display it on my buffet to ensure its freshness. The lady in the bakery seemed to know who I was even before I inquired about my cake. The cake decorators went the extra mile on this cake. (wish I could attach a pic). It was beautiful as well as tasting so good~ As i walked through the store every customer and employee commented on the cake! The deli was just as amazing. My platters were waiting on me and the young lady who waited on me was so patient as I ordered different meats I needed sliced for the buffet. She even went through a list asking if I had condiments,drinks and ice! Next came the manager. He opened a special check out line for me so no one would bump the cake. Additionally he ensured that I had someone help me to the car in the pouring rain. I cannot say enough about the Duncan location! The store was clean and the employees were great!My party would have been just so so........instead the party was a huge success thanks to the caring employees at the Duncan Publix! read more
