I preferred this Publix in Wilmington more than the first one I went to in Wilmington. They had more deli options, hot soup available in the deli, and had a liquor store beside it. I selected white wines I was not familiar with - both were good. It was near our beachfront hotel and a pleasant ambience. Service was helpful there and tried finding me the free crackers that come with the soup. There was none available yet I used a substitute for crackers in my snack cache. We came here after moving to our second hotel in Wilmington to spend some time on the beach and be closer to our family. It turned out that the grocery store was closer to our beach hotel than the one in downtown Wilmington. Will mark this as the grocery store to come to when we stay at Wilmington again. read more

I made a quick stop here for an item. This store appeared to be the cleanist and most organized I've ever seen. The products on the shelves were militarily situated perfectly on each isle. Not to mention they were fully staffed, several employees were stocking and organizing, and there was still cashiers at every sinlge checkout and additional employee at self checkout. I could not find the itemI came for. I asked an employee that was busy stocking shelves where the item was and he happily without hesitation told me what isle and walked me directly to the isle and down the isle all the way to the end where the item i was looking for was. We have bought pre pattied burgers 2 separate times. One time it was turkey & tonight we got beef patty burgers. Both time the patty's had a terrible consistency- have no idea what they add to the patty's- they're rubbery & very dense. Why can't they just patty the meat without adding some strange filler?? Never again will I buy a pre pattied burger at that store! Otherwise the store it self is a nice store with good service. read more

The biggest positive for this location is the friendliness of their employees. I am so impressed by the kindness and helpfulness of the workers here. They had enough employees working to keep the store clean, organized and running smoothly. They had an ample amount of cashiers working hard to keep shoppers from having to wait in line. The bakery/deli department is impressive. The seafood department is as equally impressive. Everything in both departments were fresh. The meat department was well stocked . Many of the individual departments have sanitation grades posted. The produce department has a 99.0 and the meat department had a perfect 100.0! Some of the prices are a tad higher than the area lower quality stores but they offset that a bit by having sales throughout the store. They also in-store coupons exclusive to Publix. If you compare quality of the area stores Publix is by far the best. read more

The young lady that works in the deli named Taylor must absolutely hate her job. She bashes other customers to other customers and she won't help you unless you ask for something. She won't acknowledge any customers that are waiting at the deli. If you are going to this store for something at the deli I would suggest asking another employee. Managment must not care because she has been doing this for a while. 100% stay away from the public deli in carolina beach if she is working. read more

My all time favorite grocery store because of the employees and cleanliness!! It's the employees that make it so enjoyable to go grocery shopping because they are all in a happy mood every time and each of them greet you with a smile on their face as you're shopping if you're passing by them. As you're checking out, there's usually someone there to bag your groceries and then they ask you if you need help caring them out to your car. I have never in my life been so impressed by the kindness and helpfulness of a grocery store staff, or maybe any staff in general. I was at the beach for the past week and had quite a few grocery trips to make. I think I went a total of 5-6 times to get a few forgotten or needed items. They had everything I needed, including delicious Filet Mignon that was great quality. I mention this because I am very particular about produce/fresh meat and fish. The rest of the items were great as well, but besides chicken and beef, it was all snacks, sandwiches, drinks, etc. My first trip was quite the trip. Let me preface it by saying my boyfriend and I decided take the pup with us since he was just becoming acquainted with the beach house, and it was too hot to leave him in the car, so I told him to stay in the car with pup and I would power through like a Supermarket Sweep champion, and that I did. Keep in mind, I usually shop at Harris Teeter or Lowe's back home, because there is not a close Publix. Due to this, I was pretty lost. However, with the help of the Publix superheroes, it was a great experience. In 45 minutes, I had two overflowing carts. I left one at the front with the help of an employee, and after my second, I was finally at the register. Oh wait, I forgot a few items. Not only did they put all of my items on the checkout conveyer belt for me, they bagged everything with the most fun, positive, and helpful attitudes. I was sweating by this point from this grocery run, but it was a great experience. The next few times were not as intense, but the same customer service was provided. These folks know how to have fun and deliver exceptional service. Throughout every isle and every checkout, you are asked if you need assistance in the most friendly manner. These people were literally recommending how many bags of potatoes, different varieties of orange juice, etc. We were joking about how we should just stay at the Publix next time. I will definitely do my grocery shopping at Publix again while in Carolina Beach. read more

The Publix staff gets 5 stars. Every person is friendly, helpful and goes above and beyond to help their customers. The store is clean and currently everyone follows COVID health regulations. Bakery has a wonderful selection of freshly baked bread (on site)! Deli section is good as is the meat section. I've purchased some great ribeye and flank steak at Publix on the island. Selection in the fish section gets 2.5 stars- every time I go for some fresh fish (salmon, tuna, halibut or sea bass), there is none. Most of the fish has been frozen or is a bottom feeder (catfish, tilapia). That's really the only disappointment for me. Keep the staff happy- they are the biggest reason we like to shop at Publix. read more

RATS!!! Ordered and waited 25 minutes for an eight piece chicken box. The guy came out with four boxes and gave them all away. I asked where mine was, he said that will be another 25 minutes.I left my buggy of groceries and headed out. The two guys working the deli were laughing as I walked out. This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a Publix. They got me. It will be a long time before I shop at a Publix again. Buyer Beware!!! First time I have ever been to a Publix and I am thoroughly impressed. My cashier Reagan and helper Rachel were super helpful and friendly. I was checked out in a timely manner and was even asked to have my groceries taken out for me which is something you don't often get asked. I was also impressed by the young blonde boy who cleaned my cart for me before I used it. Overall I am very impressed with the sanitation and customer service, I will definitely be shopping here from now on and suggesting my family do the same. read more
