I have an outside unit that I've had here for a few months. They almost immediately raised my rent to higher than I was paying for a climate controlled unit somewhere else. I store boxes of holiday totes and my Christmas tree in a bag. I went to get my holiday stuff in November and EVERYTHING and I mean everything was completely covered in rat poop and pee!!! My Christmas tree bag was chewed through and the light cord in the tree was chewed. Disgusting. I'm so mad!! read more

3 months before moving out to our new house, we went to check on the storage and had rodents. There was poop everywhere; most of our items got damaged and we had to throw away. I have been having back flashes of poop falling on my head and how gross our unit was. Even the manager told me my unit was the nicest, most organized unit she had seen, and this was after 3 attempts of having them do something about the rodents. They did not let us keep our stuff there while I try to get it resolved with Public Storage, so most of our stuff we had to throw away. Imagine moving your 3 month old mattress which was covered in plastic for protection and mice are coming out of the plastic or moving a box a mice are running around. They tore all my new clothes and tore into boxes. Please watch this video to take them to Small Claims. I have been with this storage property for a few months, I recently stopped by to check on my things and I found rats! they damaged most of my things in storage! I reached out to management and they did an absolutely nothing. Then tried to ask me for the next month bill! you offered no help with your infested facility and then expect me to pay the following month bill is ridiculous. Stay away from this place! read more

I just wanted to update my review of Public Storage. I maintain that Lisa Reed, the manager at this property, has remained extremely helpful. We had a rate increase on our unit and although Lisa could not help us specifically with that, she did a great job helping us get the answers we needed from corporate. We went in with the mistaken impression that our rate was fixed as long as we rented the unit. This was not correct, and corporate verified that rate increase occur typically about once per year. Please also be aware that according to the lease agreement, Public Storage can increase your rates by any amount at any time, so long as they send you 30 days written notice (a small postcard). I just wanted to put this information out there in hopes of helping others. It's a rather long lease agreement to read. We still have a good rate (for now) and have been happy with our unit thus far (6+ months). read more

My review of the Public Storage on Nasa Rd is very good, Lisa the on site manager has made it easy to do after the 1st employee was in training and having to continually ask for help on setting up my acct. I have never used storage before but the house time lines were off by 3 weeks and out of 1 and wait 3 weeks for the remove.My son in law uses this company and told me they were good and secure places to store and with on site mgr. it seems all good. Well, it will start out Ok; the place is old and not that clean but the initial rate was good and the items I was storing were not in need of any TLC so I THOUGHT a good value. After just 3 months they raised the rate 20%; then after a year, they raised it by 100% -- YES DOUBLE! And with just an obscure Email notice. So, if you want to do business with bait and switch criminals go here otherwise I would go elsewhere - Terrible management; the people there cannot do anything. You must call corporate, leave a message, then they call the local place back (NOT YOU) and make them call the customer back. That should tell you everything. I made an reservation for a 5x5 unit 4 days prior to the move in date. Appt day comes and the lady shows me the unit that was supposed to my reserved one. It was very dirty. I asked it they could sweep it and she said they should of done it already. Ok. So she shows me a second unit. Turns out it still had items left from a previous tenant. She shows me a third unit. This one too has left over trash from previous tenant. She shows me a fourth one. This one is dirty like the first one and there was no cord to turn the light on. So she shows me a fifth one. This one was the worst. It had four dead roaches just laying there and this one too was missing the cord to turn the light on. I'm upset by now but I still agree to see a sixth one. Finally there was a unit that looked decent. Somewhat clean and it had a light cord. So we go back to the office and start the paperwork. Apparently, it is now required to have insurance on every unit and when I made the reservation the previous week I was not told that. I'm not going to pay $18 for the unit plus $11 for insurance for a tiny unit smaller than my closet. I left. I was only storing Christmas items and my tree. I'm not paying insurance for that. Overall a total disappointment. The lady was quite embarrassed about all those units being so dirty but they were showing on her list that they were ready. There is clearly no communication between the staff. read more

I have rented a storage unit here for about 3 years now. I chose this location because of price, but it is a little ways away from my home and it is not open 24/7. Every time I go to my storage unit it is filled with spiders. I actually nicknamed my storage unit "spider land" and usually bring a broom with me when I have to go there. I only rented their smallest size unit available and it suits my needs well. I needed a place to put my plastic bins from moving and my Halloween/Christmas decorations, so this place works out great. There are fancy storage units all over Houston that are in-door climate controlled etc. but they cost so much. I'd recommend this place if you are looking for cheap space to store something. read more

Very shady operations. Paid for a lock and because I was late one month they cut the lock and want me to pay again. Does not say they are cutting the lock. No idea if anything is even left in the unit. They put a different lo9ck on the unit. Will NEVER use public storage again. Definitely, recommend looking elsewhere for storage. When you get there you find that you MUST also buy their insurance which the cheapest is an additional 11.00 per month and you MUST BUY THEIR lock for over 20.00 with tax. So the price ended up being double the posted internet price because they require you to buy insurance. However, even with that, I'm still paying $10 less than the next best thing I could find. They also require you to buy their $20 padlock and try to sell you stuff to put on the floor to prevent moisture. The manager is friendly and professional. The property is reasonably well kept and the security seem solid. Expect to pay at least $11 more per month than the posted price and to spend $20 to buy their lock. read more

The property manager is very helpful, every detail was explained to me. The location is very convenient. One thing a learned was that the property manager lives on site which gives me a peace of mind which means my belongings are being watch for. With the insurance included, I'm still paying less than what the competitors charge. read more

This facility was absolutely horrible. The units were old, and musty, the sheet rock walls were busted and batter much pest the plague the grounds. The roof leaked allowing my furniture to be damaged by water, mold, and rot. On top of that 1/3 of my contents were stolen from the unit likely within the first month of occupacy. This I figure out after moving out in putting in a claim. I thought the moisture cause stacked boxes to topple over but that was not the culprit in totality. It was due to someone prowling around. How does that sh*$ happen in a place that is suppose to be secure with cameras. WELL IT DID!! Put in a claim storage insurance won't cover theft cause it was an inside job. Theft totaled more than $10K in goods. Again how does this happen with management that live on premise less than 200 feet in plain sight of my unit??? Presently still dealing with storage's Willis Insurance super slow stall tactic on water damage. Hoping to recoupe on the obvious with damage of goods but that wont cover personal items damaged or funiture itself much less item stole that was secured by PS lock.... mmmm. Staff is friendly and nice but that facade don't make up for the BULL SH*$ of dealing with them and them taking no action or being pro - active when issues were brought to them from the time of noticing. Then all the contracts they have you sign releases them from liability even though they know they false advertise security such as cameras when they have none(which I would think should be class action law suit). And this, I just found out are all PS facilities have no cameras. Your best bet is UHAUL storage they maintain their properties and have cameras and management that is attentive.
