These are honest people here to just offer a service, they're not there to royally f*ck you over like the big guys. I've wandered all around the U.S. for years living in a vehicle and have always held a storage unit SOMEWHERE to keep things I don't need with me all the time, and A-1 still remains my favorite - I'm just not around the Eastern U.S. much these days.

That's with us throwing boxes and items in four loads worth of cars to save time. the price I expected to pay at the time of booking ended being only a quarter of the cost I paid. and then they encouraged us to tip them on top of it. They came late meaning we didnt get a good start to the move until after noon. they came with two guys but one guy did pretty much all the work. they knocked chunks out of the wall of the old place that I know is going to come out of my security deposit. they shrink wrapped and blanketed every thing whether it was needed or not and charged for how much they used. I'm talking a few extra hundred dollars worth of supplies that the quote had said would be included. over all I expected to pay maybe $600 and then ended up paying 1500+ since it took them the entire day to make the move

From the sleazy "used car salesman" approach by multiple employees when setting up the appointment to the complete lack of respect and disregard shown in canceling my appointment on the day of my scheduled move. Every employee I spoke with was located at a "call center" and not even at the actual place of business. The supervisor at the call center who called herself "Jana", then changed her name to Melissa was the worst! I had a contract for services, paid a deposit and was canceled with no explanation. I relied to my detriment on this contract to fulfill a scheduled move on a specific date and time. This is by far the worst company I have ever encountered.

CitySpace on Main Self Storage is a good place to get a storage unit. It's a huge space (as most self storage locations are), but I found it easy to navigate. It's gated, and locked from within, so it seemed very secure. I helped my friend clean out her storage unit, organize everything, and dispose of many unwanted items. We had no issues pulling everything out of the unit, as the hallways are quite large. I really like that aspect of this location, because many other storage spaces I've been in have much more narrow hallway spaces, making it more difficult to move items in or out. I have also had experience with storage units where the doors are accessed from outside, so I like that in this location you have to enter through a gate, and then go into the building to access your unit. If you're looking to get a storage unit, I think CitySpace on Main Self Storage is a fine place to do it.

I've had a few storage units over the years for a variety of reasons, and I can say that CitySpace…read moreon Main is one of the nicest facilities I've seen. The storage units are inside and climate-controlled, which will be particularly nice when I have to get into my unit and move some stuff around in the winter and summer months. You can also pull your car into the facility to load and unload it -- again avoiding the high heat, cold, sleet, snow, rain, zombie apocalypse, what have you. The whole place is very clean, and the lady at the front desk has been nice and helpful. CitySpace is downtown and close to my home. Plus you can pay online. And I just learned that CitySpace also serves as a K-9 training center for the Louisville Police. Crazy stuff. The rental prices seem comparable, skewing a little high -- but again you get a lot of amenities for you and your stuff. The one thing I don't like is that I can't access my unit 24/7, but, then again, if I need into my unit at 3 a.m. something is likely very wrong ... or I've just procrastinated in some way.

People needed to call the off site manager (his number was not readily available) who would tell you to hold your phone a certain way and walk 10 ft from the elevator and other ridiculous things. I was given a smaller unit than I had reserved and they didn't have a bigger one available. My movers were coming the next day so I had to take it. My furniture was smashed into the smaller unit and a great many pieces of furniture were damaged. This storage unit fiasco was one of the mosts stressful parts of my out of state move.

The nicest thing was that I was able to book a place online. As soon as I reserved, I had it. It was mine. Oh yes, it was mine. Then, I got a phone call from the agent there confirming my reservation and asking if I had any questions. Great customer service. There is 24-hour access to the storage units (which is nice, since I keep a weird schedule). There is restricted access - you can only get into the units with a code that you designate yourself. Plus, there are cameras everywhere, which is nice for a security feeling. The rates really aren't that bad either. A little less than I was expecting. And they have the option to bill monthly to a credit card, which is great for people who don't want to think about bills.

When I stumbled upon 24 hour self storage, I had doubts and didn't trust that anywhere I went, nowhere could be this good to be true. Right?? Boy was I wrong!!! Not only was the cost about half of what I'd paid in the past, but I had a larger unit. I definitely took note that the grounds and units were exceptionally clean, as well as quiet! The staff was incredibly kind, attentive and helpful. When it was time to move my belongings out, and to our new home, it was almost bittersweet!
