My husband loves their craft brew selection. There are always great choices for beer and wine.

I was staying at a house just around the corner for Gobble Gobble and everyone said "Nassau…read moreLiquors"!! Don't go there! It is sooooo overpriced! But it is just around the corner, and so I could not resist a stroll to at least just check out the prices. Indeed, all standard reds and whites, supermarket varieties that you can find in any store in New England, were uniformly 3-6 dollars higher priced than what you could find just a mile away at the McCaffrey's. Some higher-shelf bottles were overselling by $10, so be well aware of how lazy you are before you buy wine here!! On the other hand, the beer was totally reasonably priced, modest selection, and even less than what a gas station would charge you. Funny, this back-country Mainer was surprised to find out that, no sir, you cannot buy alcohol in gas stations in this township or state. Did not check the pricing on the spirits, but I bet it would trend in the wine rather than the beer direction. Summa summarum: If you are staying east of Maple Street than you might come here and wince a bit but get your booze real fast. If you are staying west of Maple Street, then head up to Varsity Liquors up by Chestnut St., which, though not much less expensive, is much better curated and has upfront bottles for $15 or less that will impress your palate with novelty.

Small, egregiously…read moreoverpriced, thinly stocked and sporting a level of hostility rarely seen in retail, Nassau Liquors is bizarrely unsuited to serve actual customers. I went in for a browse and left amazed that in a pearl clutching, PC paradise like Princeton this level of retail hostility not only exists but endures. Color me amused.

What truly sets the shop apart is the team: the staff are warm, knowledgeable, and eager to guide you to the perfect pairing, whether you arrive with a detailed brief or just tonight's dinner menu. Laurent, the owner, leads by example. His genuine passion for wine and hospitality creates an inviting atmosphere where you never feel rushed or out of your depth. Talking with him is like getting a mini masterclass, and his recommendations consistently impress. The store doesn't always have every bottle back in stock, but you can always discover an equally exciting alternative for your meal or occasion. My only request is for the city to convert the permanent parking spots directly in front of the shop into a 5-10-minute loading zone reserved for Princeton Corkscrew customers.

A WINE SHOP THAT SELLS NO BAD WINE!…read more One of the mottos we wine drinkers have frequently heard is "Life is too short to drink bad wine!" This is the credo of the Princeton Corkscrew. This well researched and mindfully assembled "wine library" has best representatives of even the tiniest microclimate where wines of note are produced. The associates working beside the owner Laurent Chapuis are well-studied connaisseurs who can talk intelligently about every bottle in the shop. Before a new bottle is placed in the racks it has been tasted and discussed by members of the team. Laurent, himself, visits the winemakers and the terroirs to select only the best examples and best vintages for his shelves. Open tastings invite we consumers to meet the makers and taste their wines including vertical samplings which educate us. I've never visited a better educated shop than the Princeton Corkscrew. And I have never bought a wine that didn't live up to its portrayal. Good advice. Good information. Good pricing. GREAT WINE! Merci Laurent!

They sat us in a corner, no breeze and learned their AC and fan has been broken for years. Couple next to us sat down said its too hot and left in less than a minute. We stuck it out and was glad we did. Their take on an amaretto sour was very tart and vibrant, a new favorite. Reisling was nice and sweet. Main course was papardelli, fresh pasta. Fully enjoyed that. Friday special ia chicken parm, was cooked nicely. However when we discussed dessert we just were too hot to have another drink and have dessert which is a shame. Not sure why they haven't fixed this know air issue, they are loosing sales.... What kept it 4 star for us was the wait staff. Jordan was extremely friendly and efficient, as well as the other staff that took care of us. Would love to go back, but maybe in late fall/winter unless they fix their fan/ac issue.

Let me start off with the pros: ease of making reservations, service, seating time, ambience,…read moreplenty of parking, nice presentation as you walk in. But, I wasn't blown away by any of the courses, unfortunately. The only dish that stood out as being really good were the rice balls. Everything else was just average-and that makes me really sad because I have been looking to try this place FOREVER, especially since we had our wedding reception at their sister restaurant that closed almost twenty years ago--and their food blew me away. Collectively, we ordered calamari- bland, arancini-delicious, crispy eggplant-bland and dry. I ordered the crab agnolotti which was just, well.... bland. My mom's salmon seemed to be cooked well, we asked for medium and that's what she got. The tiramisu was good, and I am not generally a fan. The mocktail that ordered-basil gimlet was a nice balance of sweet and sour. Overall, really giving it a 3.5 but based upon comparison to my other 4 star ratings, I had to bring it down a bit. An overall nice experience, but since the food is the star... I'm not sure if I will return.
