It sticks in my mind because some girl decided that she didn't want to hang around with her mum any more, and wanted to hang around me, and the fact that my French is pretty bad didn't really disuade her. Anyway, yeah, it's a pretty nice pub with good service and decent beers, which I definitely appreciate.

The owner, I believe speaks Spanish and English and not Swiss German but she was wonderful and ran the restaurant alone when it was completely full. When I tried to order in very poor German, the girl was accommodating in switching to English, but I have to admit I did want to practice my German ;). The panini was by far the best panini I've ever had in my life. So unexpected, but I stand by my claim and I will be thinking about the crunchy ciabatta bread and fresh ingredients for a LONG time. The sausage and bread appetizer was also marvelous. When it came out and I saw that we get to slice it with the fun little machine, I was ecstatic. We had such a good time making little meat slices and they tasted delicious. The beers were also the best beers that I had in my entire Eurotrip (10 days) and the wheat beer is up there with my favorite beers of all time. After we finished eating, we played darts for a while and had such an amazing time. As weird as it sounds, my evening at Avocado Bar was PROBABLY the highlight of my short little Grindelwald trip.
