While I understand people's complaints about this dealer you must remember you are buying a used vehicle "as-is". I bought 2002 Dodge Ram they told me it was a state owned fire vehicle so I know it was used to its capability. With that being said the truck is awesome had to do the usual tune up and shock replacement. The only thing that got me was broken leaf springs but, and I stress this, I didn't look at the leaf springs before buying the truck. The sales people are great and fun to chat with while you wait for your approval to come through. Just make sure you know what one you want before the credit app so you don't have to wait longer like I did, haha. I believe that they honestly want to help people out and get them in a good vehicle. Sure there are things they could do better. Inspect the vehicles closer, be a bit more forth coming on the cars.com descriptions. Let you know ahead of time you have to drive to Eden Prairie to sign papers. All in all it was a good purchase, just make sure to do your checks before buying. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! This was by far THE WORST car buying experience ever! 1 star is WAY too much to give them! My 17 year old brother found this place online while looking for a Dodge truck to buy. This was going to be his first car purchase and was very excited...if only he knew the terrible month buying a car from these people would bring us. The truck my brother found online was a 2001 Dodge Ram. Nice truck from the looks of it, no rust, clean interior and all that, but the check engine light was on. After talking with the sale woman, Jenny, and Steve, the owner, they assured us that it was only the O2 sensor and that it was a simple fix and very inexpensive. We were assured, via writing on the contract, that if it was not the O2 sensor, we could bring it back and they would fix whatever was causing the light to come on. On the drive home, an hour away, the truck started to "jump" around for lack of a better word. My brother immediately brought it to a local mechanic, who after looking at the engine and doing a compression test, in not so nice words said we were complete idiots for buying this truck. The engine was in terrible condition and this truck should have never been sold to us. We called PTL Auto and were told we could bring it up to have it repaired. We brought it up on Dec 31st of 2015. We were told by Jenny that it would be moved to the front of the line in repairs and we would have it back in a week, 2 tops. Not sure why she was even giving us a time frame because every time we called to get an update on the truck, she said she had no affiliation to the garage and we needed to talk to Steve. This is where it starts to get very frustrating. These people never answer their phones, never call you back, and constantly lie about what is going on with the vehicle and have no idea what they are doing. After a week of the car being there we called to get an update. The mechanic hadn't looked at it yet but would do so in the morning. Nope, nothing. Calling again we were told that the mechanic was out sick and that it would be a bit longer...a few more days...still nothing. Its been 2 weeks and we have no idea what is going on with this truck. Finally after 2 1/2 weeks we get word that the valves need to be machined and the engine head it cracked. They are getting new parts and we should be able to pick up on Thursday. Wednesday comes and the car is still not done. The mechanic is out for a family emergency. It has now been 3 weeks and my brother is having a hard time getting to work without a car so we drive up and get a POS loaner. The doors don't shut, it doesn't shift, and its disgusting on the inside and had NO gas in it. FINALLY, the next Friday, Jan 29th, a month from drop off, my brother gets his truck back. Steve, the owner, is unethical and unprofessional. He spends all his time at car auctions buying these piece of crap cars and then selling them seemingly without even inspecting them. This truck with a cracked head should have never been sold to us. Jenny, the sales woman is a complete hack too. This company is in the business of making money and they don't car how they do it, even if it means completely destroying a 17 year olds first car buying experience. Please stay away and tell all your friends and family to stay away! I also called the MN Attorney General and left a detailed complaint in their Consumer Rights Department and I also called the MN BBB and left a complaint with them. These people should not be allowed to sell cars! read more

This place is a joke. I bought a 2004 f150 from them and they day I got home with it the truck I noticed a tick. A tick that you can only hear when the engine is warm and at operating temp. So I brought it in to the ford dealership and it was cam phasers and timing chains. It cost me $2434.70 to get this fixed. They also told me that there was no way PTL didn't know that it had this problem. I tried contacting them because the warranty they gave me wouldn't cover it because the problem was pre existing. The lady at PTL said she would call the warranty company and see what was going on and get back to me. They won't return my calls now or even answer the phone. This place is a scam. BEWARE THEY WILL SCREW YOU. read more

MY wife and I found a great truck online that PTL had listed. It was an older Ford F150 with a very low price and even lower miles. We were both skeptical as it seemed to good to be true. we drove all the way from Lakeville to test drive it and ended up buying the truck. We were still a little nervous because it was such a good price. I took it to my mechanic in Lakeville and told him to go through everything. In the end he couldn't find anything that needed to be fixed and told me i got the deal of a lifetime! Jenny was the woman who sold us the truck, she was fantastic! The only reason i didn't give them five stars is cause I wish they where closer. Thanks Jenny! read more

The place went out of business and the owner/ sales person never turned in my paperwork to the DMV. So I had no title to give to my insurance company. Went to the DMV and had to to a bunch of applications to get a title to my car! Still working on it! read more

Very happy with my experience at PTL. Test drove an older vehicle and was interested in it but the AC was not working. Told the folks and they said give them a day to get it fixed. They called the next day and I drove it home that evening. Loved the no pressure sales! Less than 2 weeks later the AC was out again. You could see the oil dripping out of the compressor. Called them back, and this was the real test, they said bring it in and they would fix it at no charge! Great customer service. Assuming no more AC issues the 5 stars will stand! read more

I will start by saying that this review is 100% truthful. In other reviews I see Steve, the owner, replying that the customer is lying, exaggerating or leaving out details. I bought a truck with cash 10 months ago. It is still at PTL after breaking down every time I brought it home. I have yet to use it other than back and forth to the dealership. My calls and texts are constantly ignored so i have no idea why I'm not getting it back. Aside from that I don't even have a title yet. (Supposedly a duplicate was sent about a month ago) To go more in to detail...10 months ago, December 2016, I purchased a 2005 F150 with 138,000 miles. I have a 1 year warranty that covers 4x4, engine and transmission. After all said and done I paid a little over $10,800 in cash. When I got home I looked through my paperwork and there was a paper that said "no warranty, as-is". In the morning i called the dealership. They apologized and said they would email it immediately. After a few hours it never came so i emailed them because they didn't answer. Later I called again and the receptionist said the owner was writing it up as we spoke. I never received anything. The next day they didn't answer my calls so I drove 45 minutes to the dealership. The owner asked the receptionist to write me up the warranty quick. They hadn't even started one. My 2nd time driving my truck it broke down. I brought the truck to the dealership where it stayed for a month and a half getting "fixed". When I picked it up it broke down again on the way home. I brought it back for the 2nd time. After a few weeks they sent it back with me and it seemed ok driving home but the next day it broke down again. I asked Steve for a refund and he said because of the length of time he couldn't do that. The length of time?! The entire time it had been in HIS shop broken down. After I brought it back to the dealership for the 3rd time I was told that I needed to replace all 8 spark plugs and coils out of pocket because my warranty didn't cover that. (At this point I started asking for loaners because it was getting hard to find friends willing to drive 45 minutes each way to bring me home. I've had 3 different loaners and they were all junk. One literally didn't have working brake lights or blinkers and the brakes were very unsafe. None of them had working air so summer driving was miserable) After replacing the coils and plugs it was still breaking down. I brought it back and the dealership for the 4th time and they replaced the camphasers/timing chain. When driving it home it was still breaking down. In March, for the 5th time in 3 months I brought the truck back to the dealership. They discovered a bent valve and said the mechanic did the timing chain incorrectly so when i drove it home it caused engine damage. Since their mechanic caused the damage it should have been paid out of their pocket, but instead they fought with the warranty company until April to get them to pay for the repairs, which they did. I was under the impression that my warranty was only covered at PTL. I learned that i could bring it to any mechanic, but the warranty company said PTL had to do the work because they were already paid for the bent valve. I have yet to see or hear any updates on my truck. So it has been 7 months just since the most recent time I brought it back. My texts and calls have been ignored. A few months ago I drove there to demand my money back and Steve was gone so the receptionists called him. Over the phone he said he doesn't have the money to pay me back. He decided on a date that it would be done by otherwise we would deal with it in court. That date came and passed with no word. I contacted the attorney general. They contacted him 3 times with no word back. I held off writing this review earlier because I was nervous that they would hold my truck longer or not actually fix it, but it can't get worse than this. Today I sent in my papers to go to court to get my money back. I have endless examples aside from this review that I have been scammed by PTL Auto. Buyers beware! read more

I dont even want to give this place 1 star but Jenny, the one who sold us the car is very nice and personable and the other employees/owner are nice as well. My main problem is the integrity of the sales made and their inventory. My husband bought a truck, after test driving it. It ran fine but had a hole in the catalytic converter and needed a new O2 sensor. The agreement was he would purchase the truck full price if they fixed the issues with the truck. They patched the hole and replaced the sensor before we drove it home. We live 30 minutes away and by the time my husband got home, the truck was dying whenever he stopped. My husband replaced the distributor cap thinking that might help because it was corroded. It didnt. He got a quote for all the repairs that needed to be done and it was only $300 away from what we purchased the truck for. He contacted the dealership and they agreed to replace the catalytic converter because the patch had blown off. We dropped the truck off and heard nothing for 4 days. My husband called up there to inquire of the progress (we were left with 1 car when both of us drive to work) and spoke with Jenny who told us they were having a hard time finding a catalytic converter. There is a Napa Auto Parts a mile away, mind you. Repeatedly he was promised a call from the mechanic but no one ever returned his call even after being told each time he would receive a call back. My husband even offered to pay for the catalytic converter if they would do the labor. Nothing. We were frustrated so we drove up there on the 5th day. No one knew what was going on. We were lied to about the catalytic converter having been ordered (more on that in a minute) and offered a "rental" car off the lot, which we appreciated. We were also told we wouldnt have to pay for the catalytic converter for all the trouble. As soon as my husband pulled into a parking spot at home, the brakes went out in the "rental" truck- luckily a curb stopped him. If he had tried to park in the garage, we would have had a ginormous truck in our kitchen. My husband contacted the dealership and I believe the owner drove out another truck for him and brought the one with no brakes back up to the dealership. Meanwhile, my husband had called O'Reilly Auto Parts and Napa and located reasonably priced catalytic converters. He told the owner and the owners reply was to the likes of, "Ok, I'll just stop and get one from O'Reilly". They never actually ordered one, Im not quite sure what was taking so long to do. They replaced the catalytic converter within 24 hours and we had the truck back the next night, but they also tried to charge us $150 for the catalytic converter after just being told that charge would be waived. It didnt fix the problem. My husband tried to contact the owner about it and still we havent received a call back. His truck still dies anytime he comes to a full stop but we are through trying to deal with them. To sum up the story: we were sold a defective vehicle, lied to, given the run-around, graciously given a death trap of a loaner vehicle.. the only thing that doesnt make his truck a Lemon is it didnt come with a warranty. How convenient. Otherwise, we would be taking legal action. Save your money and go somewhere else. Avoid this place like the plague and tell all your friends. Funny enough, we thought it was a Christian run dealership. But PTL must not stand for "Praise the Lord" read more

My wife and I just bought a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup and it was a tremendous buying experience. The truck is very clean and in great shape and was fairly priced based on Kelly Blue Book. We took it to our mechanic before purchasing and the mechanic found a few things that could be fixed (it is after all a 12 year old truck). When I showed the list to Joe, our salesman, he said they would fix them. As it turned out their mechanic was unavailable, so they reduced to the price to cover the repairs. We found Joe and PTL to be an extremely friendly, low-pressure and pleasant place to do business and I will recommend them to anyone looking for an older, fairly priced vehicle. Thanks!! read more

This place is Shady AF. The people here will tell you anything to get a sale for their POS cars. They tell you they check all their vehicles out before they put them up for sale, well that is B.S. The truck looked real nice, and drove good. (04 avalanche one owner) Was told there was no rust on vehicle by the salesman and the manager assured me I would be very happy with it however; upon closer inspection I found that the rockers were rusted off, with new ones put over them and the back portion not connected, the rear fender painted and repaired not professionally, The radio had one speaker working with the antenna broken off, the Tire pressure monitoring system had faulty sensors. Spare tire holder was broken, Trailer hitch was a rusty mess, gas gauge didn't work properly, back lights on half the dash were out, and the tie rod ends were worn, also the bed mat was missing and the removable rear window frame / holder was broken. Also not pleased about the implication of the place meaning Praise the Lord as is commonly associated with, and the facility being so poor and the employees being obviously taken advantage of and not happy. read more
