Each person taught me something different and useful. You can't go wrong with any of the PTs here. They really helped me through a difficult and painful time after I tore my ACL. I feel much better now and have learned skills that I will use in the future. The PT assistants and front desk staff are also lovely and helpful. The acupuncturists are also amazing and I high recommend. Extremely gentle and helped tremendously.

I had discovered this PT place on my own based on some reviews and also the way the modality was…read moreadvertised. I was working on recovering from a ligament issue and among several other modalities I chose to explore this one. I called to check on their technique and approach. The PT seemed annoyed that I had questions. He wanted me to rely on the website description only. I found the communication style very strange. I thought that this may be a stylistic thing. One can overlook stylistic matters if the competency is there. During my 1st visit I realized that the therapist had a very rough demeanor. I tried 2-3 sessions over the course of 30-45 days and I must say that I have yet to come across such a brazen and rude service provider. I have come across far more knowledgeable people who guide their patients and have decent communication skills. They also advise them what to do after the session or in their day to day in terms of exercise and so forth. There were no instructions provided to me except for repeated confrontational conversation. In addition, if I will ask a question instead of a response I will get a convoluted drivel with no head and tail. Before a session, he would ask questions and then refute his question. That is his technique of refining his questions and improving himself. To give an example, I was asked after my 3rd session, "how do you feel?" I responded, "much better". Since I had been taking my other personal exercise classes and practising other modalities that were helping me out I was feeling much better Rather than being pleased with my progress as well as self work to improve the condition, I was told, "how do you know that?" When I responded, I was told that's not what he was asking. He constantly refutes himself and would waste your time in conflicting analysis / rude commentary and unrelated analogies / examples. It's like someone is engaged in loud self talk and in unbalanced. On my very recent visit, I decided to cut my trip short when I saw the past few visits' trend repeating. I have previously tried several holistic therapy places and have come across extremely competent and decent holistic service providers who know how to communicate. Here, I was left with a very distasteful experience.

Out of all of the different physical therapy locations I visited, none actually caused any amount of pain relief other than Manual Physical Therapy. I used to leave PT with more pain but not with Nachum. With each appointment, I left with better results. To be honest, initially, I was shocked because reducing my pain hadn't been an easy task for doctors and therapists alike. Nachum did it with such ease, my one wish is that I was told about him earlier. Thankfully, I was recommended by a family member who had similar results. Her unbearable bone pain was GONE after a few sessions with Nachum. As an experienced patient who has seen plenty of physical therapy offices, if you're suffering and in need of an excellent physical therapist, don't pass this place up. You won't regret it.

This actually happened at the facility in Chester but I was told all the Kesslers use the same…read morepolicies and I can't find a way to review the Chester location. WARNING if you use Kessler for in-patient rehab for yourself or a loved one (or any rehab, as this could occur elsewhere). If the patient has joint surgery, especially hip or knee, or is otherwise at high risk of pulmonary embolism and should be wearing IPC devices (alternating pressure cuffs) PLEASE CHECK with Kessler, before agreeing to discharge there from the hospital, that they will put the cuffs on within a few hours. They accepted my family member from Morristown Medical Center, where she had the cuffs on, and their own doctor ordered that she should continue wearing them to prevent PE. But unbenownst to me, Kessler has a policy of doing a doppler before putting the cuffs on-- even if they've already been on continuously at the hosptial-- and they admitted her when they would not have technician available. They left my family member laying immobile for 15 hours without the devices and she died of presumed PE before they ever got around to it. I wrote them and asked them to change their policy to either put the cuffs on patients without doing a doppler like the hospital does or to delay admission until they have doppler technicians available-- i.e. to stop taking patients who need the cuffs and leaving them without the cuffs for longer than recommended. The president of Kessler called me today to say they'll look into it but "I'm not going to tell you if we change our policies." I have no idea if they're going to change anything. IPC cuffs can significantly reduce PE risk for immobile patients in the days after surgery. So please, DO NOT go to Kessler after a joint procedure without confirming they'll use them if the doctor says the patient should wear them. In fact, confirm IPC device use with any rehab prior to discharge if the hospital is using them and the patient is still in the high risk period. Kessler Foundation also sent a donation request addressed to my dead family member weeks after she died there and weeks after I'd written the complaint asking them to change their procedures. Addressed to the patient who died there. Asking her to send them money. The president did agree this shouldn't happen and said he would try to prevent it from happening to other people. What he did not agree to do was stop accepting patients who need IPC cuffs during times when they have no intention of putting them on.

I cannot tell you how pleasantly surprised I was by the care I received by every single person on my team, from the moment I arrived to the moment I left two weeks later. I can actually envision myself walking better than I have in years, thanks to the PT I received at Kessler. Special thanks to Rob and Emily, whose approach gave me confidence to push myself during daily 3 hour PT and OT sessions. I had very low expectations, and something of a chip on my shoulder, believing being forced to endure physical therapy would likely cause more pain. However (and I realize even Ivy's dedicated and talented therapists can't fix what needs to be surgically repaired), Ivy has managed to reduce my pain to the point where I can now actually benefit from the medication I was prescribed to reduce my nerve pain! Prior to physical therapy, I needed pain medication to sleep, as the muscles in my legs and feet would twitch and cramp all through the night, as nerve pain radiated down from my lower back. Ivy's treatment has profoundly reduced my reliance on pain medication, even the OTC kind. I very much want to reach a point where I am medication free! I plan to continue attending PT sessions at Ivy right up to surgery, and resume as soon as possible post surgery. My exposure to the knowledgeable and upbeat therapists at Ivy has convinced me that proper therapy IS a vital part of pain management, and the path to being medication free.

From the start, everything was so easy, the staff was so kind, and the therapists not only experts in what they do, but also empathetic. When I first called to book an appointment, their office manager took my insurance information, called them herself to verify my coverage, and then called me back to give me the rundown. I had my initial consult and evaluation with James, who walked me through his recommended treatment plan to address an old shoulder injury and diastasis recti. He's incredibly patient and knowledgeable and provided me with tips and tools outside of therapy, so I could continue down my fitness journey, without causing reinjury to my shoulder or exasperating my diastasis recti. Because of schedules, I alternated therapists and saw Paige, as well, who was equally as attentive and knowledgeable. I highly recommend James and Paige for your physical therapy needs.
