Today I would like to shine the spotlight on Into Action Recovery Center (Houston, Texas). My…read moreexperience, although I am not proud of the reason I had to come, was one of the best decisions I have made in my life by far. I was treated with the upmost respect and kindness while still understanding that I was there to get well. From the receptionists, to janitorial staff, they all played an important part of my recovery. I have to give a shout out to Zac the V.P. who counted it not robbery to come out and fellowship with his clients, rather it was planning a 4th of July event or hanging out with us a the Movie Theatre, he was all in! Into Action Recovery Center (Houston) planned events that nourished our minds, souls and physical bodies. So from me, Dan Jackson you receive three thumbs up and five Stars!!!!! Last but certainly not least, I have to make mention of IARC's phenomenal Medical staff who very patiently nursed me back to health, and my two guardian angels, Nurse Lori and Nurse Lisa who watched over me at night over on the sober side of things. Nurse Lori who always had a song in her heart and a warm smile no matter what day or time, and Nurse Lisa who was always willing to listen even though she knew that half of the time we were making stuff up, but she never stopped loving and listening. Again, from me Dan Jackson to IARC, Three thumbs up and Five Stars. Sincerely, Daniel Jackson, Sr.

Ignite comments This is Mona Holt,…read moreRecently, I spent approximately seven weeks in the Ignite Rehab facility in Webster, Texas. There are several people that made my stay memorable. Lorena and Morgan provided excellent therapy. During the day shifts Dina was especially attentive and caring. In the evening Mitzi and Ann took great care of me as well. The care given by these people is what made my stay at Ignite a successful one.

Let me start this by saying that I don't think there is such a thing as a good skilled nursing…read morefacility. There is okay and bad. While this place looks nice and I will say the facility is kept fairly clean, it isn't all that it's cracked up to be. A little back story here. My dad had a brain bleed in July and was released from Ignite in Webster today October 2, 2026. Since July he has been in two hospitals and three rehabs/ skilled nursing facilities. Ignite was the better skilled nursing facility but, my lord did we have our issues. There were multiple times where my father had to call me because the staff either wouldn't or couldn't answer call lights in a timely manner. One of those phone calls was at 1 am. Another time he called me because he couldn't get anyone to help him transfer from his wheelchair to his bed. Both times I had to call the nursing station to get them to go in and help him. Both times it took multiple attempts to actually speak to someone. Wednesday September 30, I went to visit my dad in person and speak to the members of his care team. I knew that his was release from this facility was coming up and wanted to speak with them to make sure my dad was ready to be discharged and that everything was in order home health wise. My dad is a below the knee amputee. My major concern with him being discharged was whether or not he could adequately transfer himself to and from his wheelchair. When I brought up my concerns, I was told this "Maybe his new baseline". When I asked if he could transfer unassisted, I was told he needed assistance. Meanwhile my dad is in the room this conversation is happening in and stating that he believes he can transfer himself. The director of physical therapy was present, and I asked her he had been allowed to attempt this she said "no". The PT director went to go get a physical therapist (I think) to see if my dad could attempt to transfer from his bed to his wheelchair. We waited about 30 minutes, and no one showed up. He was able to transfer by himself just he and I in the room. (lots of waiting for someone to decide to finally help you here). Thursday October 1, my dad calls me a little concerned. His discharge date was either going to be the 2nd or the 4th, which we knew but it was never clarified with me (his ride home). One this phone he states that he has to be out of his room by 11 am Friday. I had a preexisting obligation that would have prevented me from picking him up at that exact time. So, I text the person in charge of care transition and explain that I would be unable to pick him up until noon. Then the bright idea occurs to me that "hey it's Thursday and he has to be out of his room by 11 am Friday. My husband and I can go pick him up Thursday evening". Right? Wrong. I was informed that insurance doesn't cover day of discharge and if I picked him up Thursday, he would essentially be self pay for that day. Alright fine, I'll just go pick him up early Friday morning and be on our way. This is where everything went horribly wrong. Friday morning, I get there early manage to get his discharge done. We are one the way out and had to stop to get a medal for his completion of his rehab (HA) and get out the front door finally. It is just me, my dad and his nurse. I pull the car around he goes to get in and wouldn't you know with the whole whopping hour of rehab he received a day he can't transfer himself into his own car. That kind of transfer was never covered during his stay. The nurse goes to get to get her assigned cna. He tries to get in his car again and is unsuccessful. The cna and nurse are both trying to get someone from PT to come help. NOONE FROM PT WOULD COME HELP. My dad gets stuck in between the dash and the front seat of his car. The nurse, cna and I tried unsuccessfully to get him into the passenger seat. It took me banging on the door that all of the management was having a meeting in to get PT out there. All in all, it took roughly FORTY minutes and 6 or so people to get him in his seat to go home. Once he was on his way out they didn't seem to care anymore if they did at all. But, I mean I'll give them this they're a little better than Laurel Court
