Ignite comments This is Mona Holt, Recently, I spent approximately seven weeks in the Ignite Rehab facility in Webster, Texas. There are several people that made my stay memorable. Lorena and Morgan provided excellent therapy. During the day shifts Dina was especially attentive and caring. In the evening Mitzi and Ann took great care of me as well. Mom, 92 yo, arrived from a hospital with a hip replacement; she was walking down the halls from Day1 at the hospital. Ignite put her in a room, left her in bed for up to 14 hours and only got her up to walk in the PT room...no walking down the halls. She was released with bedsores from being left in bed with soiled pjs. When she returned to her regularly Assisted Living facility she was again up and walking, bedsores treated and healed. It was a disaster to put her in Ignite. read more

My mom is staying at this so called skilled facility. This place will leave your loved ones for hours as they do not have but 1 nurse per wing and they need more help as they have about 17 patients to handle with one nurse...I got completely disrespected and yelled at by Cindy tonight without letting me get one word in she proceeded to talk over me and would not even listen to my concerns. She wouldn't stop talking over me but I'm understanding she treats a lot of ppl and patients this way. She doesn't need to be in this line of business if she can't handle her mouth and just do her job. The CNA's work their butts off but they just don't have enough help. At least the physical therapy is well trained and staffed. I need to get my mom to a better facility...I suggest you look elsewhere for good care. read more

I would never send a family member to this facility again. The hospitals may rate it "Five Star," but based on what I witnessed with my own eyes, I have no idea how that rating was earned. My 86‑year‑old mother was transferred here to recover after being bedridden for almost a month. She still has pneumonia and requires breathing treatments, antibiotics, and assistance with mobility. She was specifically told not to stand on her own and to call for help when she needed the restroom. Here is what actually happened: * She pressed her call button repeatedly -- no one came. * Staff promised diapers and never brought them. * She went over six hours sitting in a soiled diaper while I was physically present asking for help. * She has pneumonia, yet not a single breathing treatment was given the entire time she was there. * I watched a man yelling for help with his call light blinking -- no one responded. * As I walked down the hall, I counted five call lights going off with zero staff responding. * Meanwhile, several staff members were standing in the hallway laughing, chatting, and scrolling on their phones. This is not a "busy shift." This is neglect. If this is how they behave while family members are present, I can't imagine what happens when patients are alone. I am removing my mother from this facility first thing in the morning. I'm sharing this so other families can be aware. No one deserves to be treated like this -- especially our elderly who cannot advocate for themselves. read more

The worst medical place I have been to . I would say people go there to get better but many times they get worse. It would take too long to list the gross incompetence of the staff and the administration. I would not be here now if I had stayed. Run away as fast as possible. read more

They do not do lab testing correctly. They do not take care of the patients like they say they have the experience there was terrible and we ended up losing my mother after two weeks of their care. She was rushed back to Clear Lake Regional Hospital. read more

My wife was at the Ignite Medical Resorts for 6 weeks. She received physical, occupational, and speech therapy, which were outstanding. When she was admitted, she couldn't stand, but when she was discharged, she was able to walk with the aid of a walker. Caleb and Melanie worked really hard with my wife. Prior to her admission, a staff member visited my wife in the hospital (standard procedure) and said that since my wife was a fall risk and unable to feed herself, I needed to agree to some additional support, since their staff was not able to provide that much individual care. As a result, I stayed with my wife from 8 am to 4 pm and hired Visiting Angels to watch her from 4 pm to midnight. The aids (especially Dina and Nia) took excellent care of my wife, but as other reviewers have noted, they are understaffed. Nurses Rhonda and Emily were also very supportive. The food was mostly good, but being there six weeks saw repetition in the menu. My wife had her favorites but also items that she didn't like. The staff obliged by providing fresh fruit and soups with her meals. They would also substitute sandwiches, if there was a meal that my wife didn't like. The staff was very supportive and friendly. Overall, the facility did a good job helping my wife get back on her feet. The biggest negative is the staff shortage, which often resulted in long response times to the call button. read more

I wanted to acknowledge Tiffany my wound care nurse she's gone above and beyond treating my wounds everyday coming in happy kind considerate thoughtful and just just makes my day a little bit better so I thank you Tiffany and I go home tomorrow I'm going to miss you and everyone else read more

Staff is so short handed a CNA told my mom she had hurry up and get done with her because the CNA needs to attend to another person. One of the nurses seems too preoccupied with record work to make rounds at least once during her shift. Sandy has a Jekyll & Hyde attitude issue. Attendance to patient needs is incredibly lacking, food offerings are so limited that we have had to bring Mom food so she'd even eat something. Sam, the pill pass girl, is insufferable and won't allow a patient to take their pills a few at a time. Have you ever had to choke down 18 pills all at once? This is inhumane to sit and watch someone suffer through consuming a meal worth of pills twice a day. Now there are excellent people working there: Nelly, Rose, Sandra, David, Brandy, and Carmen. These people need a pay bonus for being true to their medical profession! read more

My Mother is currently a patient here and we have been here for 3 weeks. She is 87. I will say upfront that I am writing this review from the perspective of someone from the family being here with my mother just about 24/7. The review could be different if that were not the case. Honestly, I think no place you go to is going to be perfect and it is always going to be a better experience if a family member can be there with a patient at all times. In light of that, overall, we have had a good experience. We are so grateful for the private rooms as that has made a big difference for us. The rooms and bathroom are spacious and the bed is not small and we really appreciate the railings at the head of the bed. My mother has had a stroke so that really helps her getting in and out of bed. Overall, we have been very happy with the therapy people and many of them are very caring and competent. The food is about par with anywhere you would go in a medical setting, but I will say that the food service people are very gracious and caring and ready to help. The nursing and care staff may at times be a little shorthanded, but we have had a good experience with many of them. They have been caring and efficient. There certainly are some that we have not had as good of an experience with, but that is probably gonna happen most places and that is why it is so good to have a family member overseeing the situation. Our experience in particular has been such that, if needed, we would come here again. I hope this helps because when we were trying to figure out where she should go, no matter where we looked online, everything was negative about all the rehabs and it didn't help me much so I do hope This is productive for someone. read more

My father was recently a patient at Ignite Medical Resort. They called 911 when he was having a medical emergency, however did not contact anyone from the family until TWELVE HOURS after the ambulance took him to the hospital. My father passed away in the hospital, we were not able to see or meet him at the hospital since Ignite did not call the family. When I went to Ignite the following morning, we were told that no director, case work, or manager was available. The only person we could speak to was a director of hospitality. They talked to us in a supply closet/office. They would not share their policies. They stated they were not available. He had been at Ignite for several weeks and overall had good care. Keep in mind we had his paid caregiver in the room with him also who did a lot of things. We were told at one point they were out of Kleenex and to bring some for him. I waited at the nurse's station one day while his nurse was playing Candy Crush. The care on the weekends is not good at all. My father would not be taken out of his bed on the weekends, when we asked, they would tell us, "oh, we will do that later." It has been almost a month and to this day, not one administrator has reached out to us. They still haven't told us the policy for contacting families. The nurse told my sister that she was "busy and was unable to call us any sooner". She was working the overnight shift. To this day, Ignite still has not let us see their policy on notifying family members in case of an emergency. The facility is very clean and if you are just recovering from something minor I would recommend. If you are elderly and need lots of assistance, I would not recommend. read more

y mother was at Ignite after she had a fall and was recovering from a brain injury. it looks great from the outside and when you walk in the lobby, but after she was there several weeks, I realized giving them responsibility for her care was a big mistake. it was extremely hard to communicate with the person in charge. I left countless messages on a phone system that I later learned was not monitored. They are way under staffed. Mother pressed the call button, but it was at least 30 minutes before any one responded. Her clothes were lost in the laundry system and they did very little in physical therapy. it's a little thing, but she never got hot coffee in the morning. it was always cold by the time she got it. Please don't entrust your loved one to this facility. They will not get the care they deserve. read more
