When the work was finally completed, we were left with no grass, no flowers and no plants - pretty much a barren wasteland that looked horrible. As we put the word out to landscape designers, we started to get contacted by several companies wanting to quote the work. Steve from S & L was the first to respond. He was punctual and professional at the estimate appointment, COMPLETELY understood the assignment as we described what we wanted and provided a very reasonable quote for the work we requested (he even provided us with a thorough sketch of our vision the very next day!) This was a marked difference from the other companies - some wanted to charge us just for their plan (!), some had to be chased down for a follow up, some missed their scheduled appointments and others were ridiculously high with their estimates. Throughout the planting/installation process, Steve and his team were in constant communication with us, asking us to check their progress as we moved forward so that we were all on the same page (even offering GREAT suggestions). My wife and I could not be happier with the results. We have a beautiful lawn of new sod, several beds of native Florida plants and trees and dramatic uplighting that makes our home look like it was photographed by House and Garden. Our project was significantly overcharged, including instances of double billing. The company used low-quality materials that did not match what was agreed upon: the sod was low-grade and brown, the Agave plants were frostbitten and rotten, and no weed-prevention matting was installed, leading to immediate weed growth. The final result is worse than our original garden, and we now have to hire another contractor to fix the damage. Additionally, because Steve failed to pay his suppliers, the sod company has placed a lien on our home. Please exercise extreme caution if you are considering working with this contractor. They are unprofessional, rely heavily on subcontractors, and mislead customers regarding the quality of their work. We fully agree with the negative experiences previously shared by others, such as Jessica H., Alex K. they did the same things again used materials off of their old job. We wish we had seen those warnings prior to hiring this company. We are sharing our experience to help protect others from these dishonest practices.

Nicole made several suggestions and we settled on a gorgeous flowering tree that would attract butterflies and bloom from spring to fall. Her kindness and helpfulness were so greatly appreciated. After using Keller for five months, I cancelled their service. They are pricey for what you get. When I signed my contract with them, they informed me that pest control would come by on Wednesdays, but for the past five months, they've come inconsistently on Mondays and Tuesdays. They also informed me that the lawn mowing guys would come by on Thursdays, but they frequently stopped by on Fridays. Having two dogs that use a doggie door, their inconsistency was a big inconvenience. On the administrative side of things, they are extremely unresponsive. I would send them an email and it would take Kendra two weeks to respond. I would call their office and get no answer. I would ask them to trim my trees and it would take them nearly a month to get someone out to do the job yet they sent me the $800 bill within 24 hours. They are understaffed and completely unreliable. Buyer beware!

I'm not a fan of paying for a service and then not receiving it--or not even getting a simple message letting me know they aren't coming. If I don't work, I don't get paid, period, so I expect at least basic professionalism from any business I hire. When I asked about switching to pay-per-service instead of paying upfront, I had to send two follow-ups just to get a response. The only reply I got was that they would "get back to me after speaking with their partner." That was in mid-October, and I never heard from them again. They stopped showing up, removed me from their schedule without notice, and ignored my message asking whether I was still a client. I paid on time every single month, up front, and never complained--not once--until it became clear I was being completely disregarded. I was not rude in my messages either. A friend who referred them also had issues and warned me they were unprofessional, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, they proved her right. It has now been over a week since my last message, and even after sending a follow-up acknowledging they might be busy, I still received no reply. That isn't just unprofessional--it's disrespectful. I never write reviews like this, but future customers deserve to know what they may be walking into. If this is how they treat a reliable, on-time, and easy customer, I can't imagine how they treat others.

We're hiring somebody else who specializes in millings/asphalt who will have to re-do all of the work we paid for, and we will be sending Local Sod the bill. Also, we paid for 3 sickly pallets of grass of which they laid and it died. The Owner knows we took great care of it, but it was just bad grass. We shall hire somebody else to take up this mess, lay new grass, and send Local Sod that bill as well. I shouldn't of accepted that grass when it was delivered but that's on me.
