It feels odd reviewing a testing center, but from personal experience, being a ball-of-stress before taking a high-stakes exam, I'd rather have some familiarity with the testing center to have one less thing to worry about. I've taken several standardized exams through the years, but this is the first time at a PSI location. The location was easy to find; I'm glad the address states it's inside the "Crossroads" building. When you enter, its on the third floor, towards the left side of the elevator. Though the address they give you says Ste. 361, you pass by I think 359 that also says PSI, where my proctor was, when I got there, and then walked with me to 361. FYI, This location does not provide headphones at their stations. Some additional tips: Tip 1: This location is only open on Thursdays Tip 2: They have NO lockers, so leave everything in your glove compartment/trunk of your car. Only bring your ID, confirmation letter, and car keys. Luckily I heard of this from someone else, otherwise, if you brought a bag or anything, you have to run back out to your car, and put stuff there. Seems like it'd be a pain, if you are taking an exam that is a few hours long, as you can't bring snacks or anything. Tip 3: They lock their bathrooms, so you need to get a key to open it. My model forgot her identification and was embarrassed about it and the lady was purposely embarrassing us in front of everyone. When the majority of people testing for the Cosmetology Practical are retaking it because they were ALL given a failing grade by the SAME INSTRUCTOR, it says something. (Side note: if you get stuck with the light skin lady at this location, your chances of failing are extremely high) I would recommend taking practical exams at another testing center. read more

If you are required to take a test here be prepared to be treated like a criminal and a cheat. You will be forced to empty your pockets, remove over shirts and hats. You will be told which seat to sit in in the waiting room. You will take the test in a room with a surveillance camera at each testing station. Despite the cameras, a worker/warden walks through the testing room to glare over your shoulder every 10 minutes. No food or drink is allowed! If you need to use the bathroom you will have to sign out and in; you must return within 5 minutes. The room was oppressively hot. If you can't tell, I didn't pass the test. I don't do well when I'm treated as a criminal, a cheat or a sub human. If you can use a different testing center I'd highly recommend it! read more

I almost went somewhere else to take me exam because of the bad reviews on here but I had a great experience. I came here to take my Insurance exam, this location is closer to my home. They were very professional, organized and have pandemic safety precautions in place. They have a coat rack to hang your coat (I left mine in the car because one of the reviews said you could not bring items inside and I wanted to be sure I did not have to go back to my car), they have a bag for you to lock all of your personal items inside and place on the back of your chair. Again, I left everything in the car but , I figured this information could help someone else. As long as you power off your phone you can put it inside your personal items bag. The testing room was pin drop quiet, they even have ear plugs if you need additional sound barriers. I took a test at a location in Dearborn before and it was too distracting, I heard people walking around and moving, but this testing site was very quiet even with a lobby of people coming to check in to take a test, as soon as I went inside the testing room and closed the door I could not hear anything, Soundproof. This was my third time testing with PSI all being at different locations and this one is by far the worst. Saying that the woman working here was unprofessional is an understatement and would be doing her a service. She was purposefully rude to me for no warranted reason. Didn't greet me. Scolded me for bringing in a bag (the two other locations provided lockers so I didn't know). I had to go back to my car to drop off my bag. When I came back she scolded me again saying I should know better. When I sat down for the exam I began writing on the scrap paper what I wanted to remember for the test. She entered the test room and snatched it away from me. When I confronted her she said I needed to start the test already and threw away my paper. To my knowledge I wasn't breaking any rules as I've done this before and it's how I start any test. She was just looking to attack me. Again. People go here to take important tests and are already stressed out and nervous. She took my stress to a whole other level creating the worst environment for taking an exam and, from reading the other poor reviews, others feel the same. She should not be working here. read more
