The facility is great, the staff at the cafe is filled with youth on their cell phones. Unfortunately, they care more about conversations with each other vs the guests. But I don't go there for the snacks, I go because of the gym. The gym itself is great! I can't speak for other sports outside of volleyball, but it's clean, well-managed and organized. I sign up my child for several summer camps but won't be back for spring break camp. It was a snoozer and by snoozer, I mean literally her volleyball coach was asleep at the table when I checked my child in. Live and learn, but don't bother going for spring break if you have another choice, take it. read more

During a basketball game... They made both teams forfeit because a lady took a drink from a beverage and didn't immediately pull her mask up and then another gentlemen was trying to figure out why the technical was called initially (for the lady not pulling up her mask quick enough) and he got a technical and they immediately called the game. They didn't communicate that the first technical was for a parent taking down a mask. The gentleman barely pulled down his to inquire (very nicely) as to why the technical was called. The ref IMMEDIATELY became visibly aggressive and demanded to know what team his kid was on. She immediately called the game (they were just about to start the second half) and walked off the court. Of course people chased her down and wondered why the game ended and she said that it was on the coaches to make parents aware of the rules and that a second mask violation would cause a double forfeit. The lady referee was obviously power driven as well as displaying extreme anger issues, she was extremely inconsiderate of the children. They ARE NOT there for the kids. read more

I would like to share my story in hopes that it will alert any other unsuspecting folks and guard you from this same dilemma: Be aware if you pay a coach directly, PSA IS NOT LIABLE! We paid our coach directly, and he did not sign our son up for the rec team nor the select team as promised. PSA has no records of our son paying for either team even though we paid the coach $220. When we realized this team wasn't a good fit he refused to pay our money back. PSA has no protection from this coach's decision. They just tell us they are sorry it happened. Now we have to file a small claim if we want to fight to get our money back. Beware of the potential for this! Select coaches that ask you to pay them directly do not have accountability from PSA to return funds! For a year, my son was asked by a woman who works at his school to join their Little Rebels team. They are currently playing at the 4th grade level. We found this season would work for us, so we said we would join. Immediately they asked for $119 in jersey fees. They said they needed to get the order in right away. So we obliged and gave them our money. They only took payment through Zelle, which I later learned offers me no protection, because it shows I chose to give them the money. Next they asked for $220 in team fees. They said they wanted our son to play on both the rec and select teams, so that's why the team fee was higher. We paid the coach as requested. The day of the first rec game, the coach text my husband and asked us to not come to the game. Unsuspectingly, we obliged. The next day, we came to the select game as requested, the coach put our son in for 1.5 minutes and pulled him out. He sat for awhile and put him in another 1.5 minutes. He played a total of 3 minutes. After that game, we realized this team wasn't a fit for us. We notified the coach about this and asked for a refund. The coach and his wife said they didn't have the money and would have to ask the team if they would like to refund it, he also promised to refund the jersey money. Our money has not been refunded. We contacted PSA. They emailed the coach and told him he violated PSA policy by asking us not to come to the game and that since he went around PSA and had us submit funds to him, he would have to refund us. We received a second email from PSA after talking to the coach that they can't refund us, because we paid the coach and not them, and they hope we can work it out. They reassured us that they told the coach of his policy breach. The coach still refused to refund us, both for the jersey and for the team fees, so we decided to stay on the team to not waste our money. Now the coach is texting us defaming and dishonest accusations and saying the team has voted to remove us from the team. We still have not received our funds back. We planned to stay on the team unless our funds are returned, but they've removed us from the roster. The coach text recently the team does plan to return our team fee, but we've still not received any funds. Also, we paid for a jersey we never received. Please be warned about this potential for a coach taking your funds and PSA saying they can't help. read more

Money pit and the most disorganized place I have ever seen. It used to be decent about 5-6 years ago but now all they care about is $$$$$. They put tons of kids on one team as free agents so they can get more money and not have to make more teams. Communication is terrible too! You are lucky if someone emails you or calls you back. If they do eventually it may be like a week later or more. We will not being playing here ever again! read more

If I could give zero Stars I certainly would. There are so many awful things about PSA but as a business professional I don't have time to sit here and list all of it out. As other reviewers have said avoid this place like the plague. Find somewhere else for your kids to play sports, regardless of what sport they play. And if you're like me and decide to try to help other kids by volunteering your time to be a coach, just know that your kid is not going to play for free ( which is ironic considering that this is a non-profit organization in need of parent volunteers but there are ZERO incentives provided by PSA for volunteering) you are not going to get communication from psa, you will probably have your games canceled without any notification, the staff will try to argue with you about what they have on their computer system versus what information you have been given in your own portal, and the Uniform Shop is a joke so find somewhere else to go to get your jerseys. During regular seasons they are disorganized and wait till the absolute last minute to assign practice times and games. Not sure who is in charge here since there's never a way to actually get ahold of someone on the phone, but whoever it is...you missed a few courses in college. The ones that matter. The scorekeepers and refs are asleep at the wheel half the time giving points to the opposing team for points your team deserves. Way to build the energy and completely ruin a sport for your kid! Now, during Covid everyone understands that there are policies to adhere to. But that is not to make some people follow and others not. I couldn't attend my daughters last volleyball game because I had my other daughter with me and it's one player with one parent allowed in. But what about another player who went in with her dad and grandma AND sibling?! Not to mention the countless moms AND dads that were watching their player. Cool. Discrimination is totally in fashion these days. We will NEVER be back and I will let my vast circle in McKinney know to find another place to sign their kids up for their sports. read more

Worst management run operation in all of North Texas, the audacity of the people working here like they are the police of McKinney is unbelievable. PSA as a whole is inconsistent across the metroplex in how they run their facilities, it use to be a great organization but in the past 5 years its just continues to go down hill. I watched for over 2 years this facility turn people away with their kids who just wanted to watch their sibling play a sport and then the management would go around and harass people who had their baby with them or another child who had a game before or after their sibling. I will never give another dollar to PSA. One time a guy taking temperatures at the door wanted to fight a dad for refusing to let them take the temperature of a newborn in a carrier, just unbelievable. read more

Great facility! My daughter loves the summer camp and their Flexi-pass you can't beat. We are not in town all summer and the flexi-pass makes it convenient to drop in whenever we are here. We've been coming the last two years and want to attend again! They also provide lunch and snack and the price you can't beat. I have also been to a couple volleyball and basketball games in the building and it's been a great experience. I am grateful to have such a great facility close by that offers plenty of activities for the kids. read more

TERRIBLE!! Staff has awful attitudes! They are not allowing parents to watch their kids practice! My 6 year old son had his first basketball practice tonight and I was forced to sit outside. They do not accommodate parents and they are still doing temperature checks and wearing masks!! Who in their right mind is still wearing masks!!? Didn't they get the memo that everyone now knows masks do not help, they only hurt!! I do NOT recommend PSA. Time to find another facility for my son to play sports. Somewhere that values the involvement of parents in their children's lives!! Also, they need to change the pictures on their page. This place and it's administrators are absolutely ridiculous. They are not in it for the kids at all. There have been many examples of where the administrators here have screwed these kids over on schedules, forfeits, hours, etc. if you question them on anything they get extremely defensive and make comments about how their screwing over the kids is not their problem. This place is becoming an absolute joke! Their covid rules are the most contradicting rules I have ever heard of. We were at our kids basketball game and one of the parents pulled his mask out because he was telling his kid something. The terrible lady ref ran over there on her high horse and started screaming at the parents as if we are children then gave our kid a technical foul. One of the parents said he wasn't sure what was happening and she just completely went off on all of us saying she would just stop the game , kick us all out and ect..... First off she was not wearing a mask AT ALL! If you are going to put rules in place I suggest you make it a rule for every single person in there. Especially when they are running around blowing a whistle and spitting.The other ref had his on the whole time ,so why is she special?? She said she didn't have to because she is a ref (seriously). This is becoming a daily thing with this place and I am hearing horror stories about it daily from other parents. Secondly not letting the other parent in is absolutely ridiculous. Makes no sense to anyone considering we all live together all day and some of us have multiple kids playing at the same time,so what are you preventing?? The PSA needs to remember the parents are the ones that keep this place in business ,so you need to employ more respectful refs and management. Yelling and embarrassing people is not the answer and I did not appreciate any of it. read more

Where do I even begin with today's event? Over the last 4 years, we have always participated in sports through PSa: soccer, indoor soccer, all around season basketball...even select basketball and 7-on-7 footbal.... But today is the day, that I Will no longer give my money or any recommendation to this association due to ONE and only One ref. As a parent, my husband and switch out which games we can attend. Today was my day that I was allowed to view my son play BB. At 9:15, we start the game and as always once "tip off" is playing, i then proceed to support the concessions with my purchase of a diet soda. I Social distance....I sipp my soda, pull my mask up.pill down mask and support soda.. and proceed with my child's game. I have done this for the past 5games, however today was much different: 1: Tipp off 2: Buy diet soda from concessions 3: great game and great refs 4: Half time, game tied 11-11 5: Before the boys got on the court, ref lady called me out for not having my mask up quick enough and called a Technical foul on Me, which the other team went to the free throw line. ALL PARENTS QND COACHES CONFUSED 6: Opposing team parent...question what is going on, pulles mask from his face so ref can understand his question, per her reques!!!!BOOM" DOUBLE TECH GAME CALLED Great PSA... There are other better places!!! If there was a zero rating, this would the case. The communication is extremely disappointing from the paid staff and management. The volunteer staff are excellent and try to assist. But if you have questions for the staff, good luck! When emailing staff or trying to call, no one answers or you get no response. We've coached for many years in many organizations and this is one of the worst. It should be unacceptable for the paid staff to ignore or refuse to respond. The volunteers are what makes this organization run. We volunteer our time for the team in all facets but do not have basic support from PSA. read more

I wish I read the other reviews before registering my kid!! It's 2 weeks into the season and I have had to call multiple times for someone to finally tell me that my kid did not get on a team. And this is not a team you have to try out for. They said they will refund me but given the lack of customer service, it looks like I will have to dispute the transaction with the bank. The female referee is a disgrace. After reading several reviews of other parents, I can't believe she hasn't been removed from the organization. If you don't care about the true development of children, DON'T be a referee for youth sports. After being TARGETED several times by said female referee, I decided to personally email the directors. As a single mom and volunteer coach, I was completely disrespected during my youngest daughter's game, Friday, February 19 by Clarence Box. From the moment I tried to walk in the door with 2 of our team's players and my 8 year old daughter he was rude and made multiple attempts to not let me in and wanted me to leave my 8 year old daughter in the FREEZING car alone. He then stalked me and harassed me the entire game, checked the roster, questioned me relentlessly and threatened to cancel the game if I did not leave or make my EIGHT year old leave. I emailed PSA prior to volunteering to coach (otherwise 7 girls would not have been able to play) and explained that I would be happy to help out but as a single mom I would need to bring BOTH my daughters with me. Clarence has no human decency, was on a power trip and made me extremely uncomfortable. I had to ask the father of a teammate to take my daughter out of the facility or else Clarence would not let our game continue. Absolutely unnecessary. The WORST 'man in charge' I've ever come across. read more

Very disorganized all around. Games fail to start on time, referees appear to have little to no training with no investment in teaching these young kids how to play the game, and the administration is completely apathetic to any concerns or interests in making improvements. It's always a challenge getting questions answered and on more than one occasion, I've unfortunately witnessed defensive and outright rude behaviors from staff towards parents. General, all-around communication from this location is incredibly poor and very disorganized. We live very close to this location so it was convenient for my children, but I'm afraid it's worth it to drive a bit further so they can have a better experience. read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Don't ask questions if you are a white male. Witnessed decent customer service to a black lady and the tone immediately changed when I asked to have a players card made. No respect or decency. My first time trying out the PSA facility and, while it was very well kept and nice, no nice facility is worth the type of treatment I received. Just in case you are wondering, the posted hours have no influence on the times that they decide to stop running the player card machine. It's prob not an issue for most, but the games that are played in the adult soccer league are mostly 10pm games. They don't make players cards after 8pm. When I walked up at 8:30, there were 3 employees behind the desk standing and laughing. It seemed to be prime time for the facility as it was packed with different sports going on so it was very strange that between 3 paid staff (that seemed to be doing nothing but cutting up with each other) I was turned away because "they don't make player cards past 8pm". I paid $60 for the season, and then can't play the first game because they said "the lady" that prints the player cards leaves at 8pm and there was nothing they could do. It was presented as a hard stop and no compromise like other facilities would do. No temp card. No leniency for the first game of the season for a brand new PSA player. I'm not sure what kind of insane training that goes into running such a complex machine like a card printer but it seems that only one person in the facility knows how to run it. I live 45 min away so this was a VERY BAD first impression. Would rate 0 stars if possible. Don't be misled by the one star. read more

Lack of management. Overbook teams and events. Moved entire season to a jr high for games and then cut the season from 10 weeks to five by doubling up games for kids on the same day, sometime 5 hours apart. Poor leadership at this facility. Parents and coaches have complained - left messages with PSA McKinney Management, no return calls. Problem is getting worse and negatively impacting the programs. read more

We've always done summer indoor soccer for my son, he started at age 4 and is now 6, and we just started my daughter who is 4. We have been very pleased with the facilities and teams. We may deviate and do soccer again in the fall instead of just summer. Very friendly service at the concession stand as well! I would give 5 stars but sometimes parking is way overcrowded, we've seen people parking on grass. But altogether EXCELLENT facility! read more

We have had good luck with PSA McKinney for two experiences. We signed up for beginner basketball. Coach Ashley was tough love and awesome. Our son really admired her. We also participated in a week long 1/2 day soccer camp with the additional flexi day added to two days. The flexi was fine and soccer was very good. When my son confided to me at pick up that one of the kids was rude, a coach who overheard this came right up to us and wanted to help fix it right away. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that it is challenging to register (especially in person) and they don't have their registrations up early enough in advance. read more

PSA McKinney is THE worst place to let your kids play indoor soccer. Go anywhere but here. If there is a problem you are not able to get anyone to return your call or help in anyway. We registered our daughter for indoor , advanced and in McKinney with her dad coaching because they didn't have a team for her. However , we got placed on a team with only 3 of the girls knowing how to play soccer and had no idea that they had us in Plano. When calling , the lady we spoke to was rude and basically said it was our problem. Gave us the card of the woman who is supposedly the head person over ALL of soccer , she has never returned our call or email. Very business like! Our son who also plays indoor just had THE worst called game by two referees who I don't think have played soccer in their life. A player juked 4 players and scored and the ref gave the kid a blue card for sliding ???? He NEVER hit the ground. He made some very impressive soccer moves around kids and maybe that is foreign to her but he never hit the ground. She also called a header when the ball hit the kids chest. We have played with PSA for years and this is definitely our last. read more
