First off, what a pleasure it was working with Paul and of course, congratulations on his big day as well! After talking to Paul on the phone, I knew he was the right photographer for us. He was quick to get back to us (he wanted our business), he was accommodating and knowledgeable about The Mission Inn (being a recommended vendor an all), and most of all, his photos were NATURAL Most of our contact was over email, but in the final days before the wedding, we spoke on the phone and everything he confirmed eased my troubles and stress for the wedding. Finding the right photographer for your wedding can be pretty stressful seeing as how important it is to the wedding. But choosing PS Photo Media was easy, and turned out to be a fantastic decision. PS Photo Media was one of several photographers recommended by our wedding venue (the Riverside Art Museum), but we decided on them after meeting Paul at one of the tasting events we went to for our caterer (Bon Appetit). A wedding photographer has one of the tougher jobs at the event, often looking like they're trying to herd cats, and I've been in a bunch of weddings where the photographer loses control of the event which means the photos don't get done. That wasn't the case with Paul - his experience and professionalism kept things moving forward, and when that didn't work his humor got the job done. He's been to enough weddings to know what needs to be done and in our case he was a life saver on more than one occasion, whether it was dealing with family issues or fixing my wife's veil. Paul was the photographer for my wedding recently. I was not very impressed by his work. He has a condescending attitude and did not make me feel at ease while we were at the photo shoots. He was rude to my bridesmaids for suggesting pictures they wanted to take. He did nothing particularly creative with the before shots of me and my bridesmaids and my husband and his groomsmen. Our family shots took 4 mins to take and were not very special. It took a very long time to get my pictures back from him after the shoots, even after I told him that I would need them quickly. We have been using Paul for a few years for seasonal family photography needs. He does an excellent job! He's a great listener, and purposes to understand what you are looking to achieve. Further, he is timely, responsive, polite, and energetic from your first planning phone call through the order completion. Although Paul is both experienced and very talented, he leaves his ego at the door. When I show him ideas of photos I would like to recreate for my family, he is always receptive and does what he can to make it work. Further, I have 3 young children, and he is patient and playful with them as well. This truly is a photographer with whom you'll want to build an ongoing relationship. In our most recent shoot--Paul took the ideas we had and then suggested some more to really personalize it. He takes note of subtle details in the lives of his clients and really works that in to the finish product. There is nothing "cookie cutter" about Paul's work. You will received an individualized product that uniquely represents your family. He is adept at choosing a great time of day in order to capture the best shots, so editing is usually not needed. However, he is very skilled at photoshop--should you prefer an enhanced look. So what can you expect to pay for something like this? Personally--I am shocked it isn't a lot more! Wow! Be very cautious! Not only is he really creepy, but he is a really traditional photographer. He sold himself as a really talented experienced photographer, but everything he did with us was SO not creative. All of the pictures were smile look at the camera, or smile look at each other, or kiss, that's not what we wanted, we wanted more photo journalistic. There's a reason he offers such a GREAT deal, because his work doesn't justify a higher price-tag. He made us feel rushed, and feel bad on the day of the wedding because things were running late, things that were out of our control. He was pushy, demanding, and very immature. His comments to my bride made me feel very uncomfortable. He kept insisting on her doing a boudoir session for me, telling her HOT she was. I understand telling a bride she was beautiful, but insisting on taking her naked photos because she was hot, was in my book over the line. I hired Paul for my wedding after I met with him at a vendor event. Everything seemed calm, cool and collective. I was super stoked to find him so quickly into the planning process. Our Engagement shoot went fine, pictures came out good. Wedding day came and I was so excited to shoot this day! Got too the venue, everything seemed rushed and his way. Being a photographer that's good too have a since of control, but the venue was so gorgeous you couldn't have a bad background, why he choose the background for most of my wedding photos was beyond me. I looked at other shoots he had done and I questioned myself how come i am getting sub par. After the ceremony, I asked if I could have a certain shot, his response was, and I quote "that camera is in the car". What was most shocking was how it took more than a year & a half to get my wedding album . I called Paul multiple times to ask where my wedding album and canvas were? he responded, I already shipped it and argued with me that I already received it. I finally received it and laughed out loud, what I paid for was NOT what was presented . I am truly embarrassed of the package I received . I did pick the photos, but as a photographer you should enhance, crop and even let the couple know if their were duplicates or even eyes closed. Nope, my wedding album showed just that and thankfully I have my photos because I am making a new album. My canvas I received was pretty but again what I saw at the vendor event and what was promised was not delivered and end result I made my own . I felt I was an experiment to his business. I met Paul through a mutual friend and former client. I had loved all his previous work so when it became my time to take my engagement photos I knew I had to have him. Though I was confident in his abilities, I was nervous driving up to the engagement shoot location. As soon as I saw Paul, all my nerves had vanished. He has a very calming spirit about him so he made shooting with him incredibly easy for me and my fiancée. He offered plenty of direction, yet also allowed us to incorporate our own movements and style into the photos. None of our photos came out rigid, posed, and awkward like other work I've seen from other photographers. He went above and beyond for us, allowing us to get all the shots we wanted and then some. We got to see sneak peeks that same day and he was very quick to get us the photos back. We are having him shoot our wedding next year and can hardly wait to see how amazing those photos come out.
