This man was the leasing agent who rented us, what we later learned, was his mother's property. We…read morelived in her guest house. He and his kids entered her property with their keys, any time. We were not aware of this mother/son relationship at the time we signed. We *never* would have signed such a lease. Day 1 we found property had a long standing raccoon latrine (FECES) through the kitchen. Pest control also diagnosed German cockroaches, which we also saw on day 1 (it is how we discovered the feces). Raccoon feces is a CDC and TX state recognized biohazard, so we asked both parties to exit day 2. Mother later said via text, all caps " no way you're getting out of this lease." Miguel and his mother continued to be combative to the very end of a truly miserable and disgusting experience. Their defense of feces in the kitchen, per my text snapshot below was, to the effect "it's just dog poop the prior renters left to retaliate against us." They continue to state this 30 days later, regardless of the fact that the professional biohazard team I called stated it was definitely raccoon feces and definitely a biohazard. We exited on 3 day. Mother then had 10 days to remedy but failed to remedy. We retuned to feces remaining. He, and/or (it is unclear to me if there is any delineation between the two) his mom are continuing to charge us the full rent for the entire contact. We spent 3 days then 5 more days total there (as we had to wait for movers). In all Communications we ever had all they both constantly did was mention "attorneys, courts, judges, legal cases, affidavits (?!), and now Miguel likes to mention "slander". They never acknowledged the *actual* biohazard and cockroach problem at hand. They appeared to even deny /deflect that the photos weee taken at the house. Truly shocking all of it. Both continue keep threatening us - eg, that WE have threatened to destroy the property! Or that WE are making threats - when all we want is to terminate the lease, pay one extra month to resolve and be free of them. We *didn't even live at this property* as we paid for alternate accommodation due to the biohazard! Thousands in damages have been lost and are owed to us. My opinion - This man is not all there. He is ready with legal defenses the minute you mention the word "cockroach" or "feces in your kitchen." Avoid him at all costs. He is ethnical, sue-happy, and useless. The conflict of familial interest scenario is also very bizarre. We'd *never* have signed a lease if we knew he (seemingly, thought we cannot state for sure) was doing his mother's bidding. Supplying photos of the property he was proud to rent, as well text messages (among dozens) from this man here.
