We had a poor cell connection at first and therefore miscommunicated about what I needed. When we discovered it (not his fault at all) he came back and did the rest at no charge. The biggest job I've hired him for so far was to brace/strengthen and refinish my deck. I had the decking replaced last year, but didn't get around to finishing it after it had seasoned. A year passed and the wood was starting to look dry and cracked. My little daughter couldn't go out barefoot anymore because she would get splinters every time. Kris gave me a competitive quote and made an excellent recommendation on a material to refinish and protect the decking. Now the deck looks brand new, it has a little bit of texture to provide traction if it's wet, no more splinters, and it's super easy to clean. It was an all-day job for Kris and two helpers, and I couldn't be happier. I appreciate that Kris is willing to do some little jobs too. I hired him to clean my gutters, and another time I hired him to do some repair work and repainting to part of the exterior of my house. It's good to have a business like KAR that you can always call on to do good work for anything related to home improvement or home repair.

I've owned a few properties in Rockland County over the past 20 years, and have been through just…read moreabout every contractor, plumber, electrician and painter in a 50 mile radius. And in two decades none of them have come close to the professionalism, price, trust and expertise KAR brings to job everyday. Kris and his crew essentially rebuilt my entire home over a 3 month period. Spanning from wall removal, bathroom renovation, rerouting electrical, custom sink installs,, adjusting floor deflections, baseboard customization, door installs, crown molding and painting. Literally everything I could throw at him was not only done on time, but it was done right and at the price quoted with no surprises and there was zero worry about leaving him and his team to work without me home or around my dog. Even the most mundane jobs, like silencing every creak in every floorboard and hot water pipe in the house was done and Kris refused to leave the job site until it was completed. You're not getting a guy that does contracting as his job. You're getting a contractor that DOES his job, period. No matter what you're looking to do, I highly suggest calling Kris first for a quote or second opinion. I'll wager the only problem you'll have is being forced to put out an extra plate on Thanksgiving because a new family member will be getting invited over.

We hired Richards General Contracting to seal our business's parking lot, and unfortunately, the…read moreexperience was extremely unprofessional from start to finish. He was supposed to call ahead to let us know when he'd be arriving, but instead showed up without notice. Part of the agreement included filling in all cracks before sealing, but several were left untouched. He also promised to apply two coats of sealant but barely managed one -- and the coverage was noticeably uneven. His equipment broke down multiple times (including different machines), causing a four-day delay in what should have been a straightforward job. It was clear throughout the process that he lacked the necessary knowledge and expertise for the work. To make matters worse, he caused a scene at the end, demanding payment despite the poor quality and incomplete work. We do not recommend Richards General Contracting for any commercial or professional sealing projects.

He has great expertise, and is an incredibly hard worker. He is easy to work with and worked really well with our designer and other contractors. We brought Frank on early to be a part of the planning process to assure that the design and overall concept for the kitchen was feasible. Frank had some great ideas and educated us on brands to look at and which to steer clear of. We changed some of the concepts of the kitchen design and even had to bump out a wall to accommodate the new AC heat pump unit. Frank just went with the flow. I really liked the preciseness of his work and how he always left our house clean when he finished for the day. Frank gave us a few special touch ideas that really made the project pop. We couldn't be happier or have picked a greater Contractor. Highly recommend him for your next project.

We contracted Bona-Fide Construction in January 2023 for a small bathroom remodel. Initially, we…read morewere informed that this would be a collaborative project in which they worked with the owner of the home to ensure satisfaction so we were looking forward to working with the company. However, we noticed that accessories, and appliance like the bathtup, towel racks, lighting fixtures were mostly their "idea". When they were done, there was quite a bit of cleanup that we had to bring to their attention like messy grout under the vanity which looked awful and paint causing the door to stick. There was also a lot of cleanup we had to do as there was dust all over even though they told us we did not have to move anything "out of the way". Fast forward to June, I contacted them due to several nails popping out of the "new" ceiling and they informed me that the warranty on their work had expired but as "courtesy" they would fix this item. Important to note here here is that the nails were popping out of the ceiling initially when they began the work and this was brought to their attention to which they responded that they would "take care of it". Initial issues included hot water coming out of "cold" water faucet; installation of a vanity which may have been damaged as it seems crooked as installed and the door - to this day - does not close properly. Technically, it was the wrong vanity to replace the old one as it's too high as well. Based on our experience, they do not work as collaboratively as they should with the owners. We depended on their guidance as supposed "experts in the field". I would not recommend them for bathroom remodeling.
