The customer walks through sliding glass doors and sees an array of sorted furniture from chairs to coffee tables to couches & dressers. You will also find books, kitchenware, home restoration tools, new paints and various furnishings to bring your home or organization back to life. When the customer finds piece of furniture they like, simply bring the tag attached to the piece to the front counter for a quick & easy checkout experience. The friendly worker will give you two copies of the hols slip: one to place on the piece of furniture and the other to take with you to the pick up area. To get to the pick up area, drive your vehicle around to the back side of the building where friendly staff will assist in loading your new to you furniture into your vehicle.

Seriously, what am I supposed to do with an electric drill that doesn't include batteries? Nothing! That's what! I think they also sell furniture or whatever. Very inconsistent and unjust treatment of residents. Some residents get yelled at for sitting in…read morecertain places while others get to sit in the same place and no one says anything to them. I've seen people thrown out in the middle of winter into the snow just because they spoke up for themselves. I've seen staff treat the homeless like criminals even though everyone's situation is different. This place isn't all sunshine and rainbows like so many people are trying to make it seem. The staff are on a power trip; including the security in the cafeteria. I went to grab a single hat before dinner and the security told me "you can shop after dinner, bud." Like, I wasn't going to "shop" I just wanted a hat. What does it matter if I grab it before or after? I've had staff talk down to me and threaten to throw me out when I spoke up for myself. They don't like people with minds of their own in places like this. Sure, it's clean, and it's a place to stay but you might as well be sitting in the emergency room. There's no space in the day room. They have like 30 guys sharing 1 bathroom and they won't let you in the back to use the bathroom that has the appropriate number of toilets. If you knock and ask, they give you the worst attitude like you asked them for a hundred bucks or something. They don't give you enough time to sleep. You can't go to bed until 9pm and they wake you up, sometimes by shaking you, at 6am. Some people take a while to fall asleep and some people take a while to wake up. I have explained this to them many times but they don't seem to care. The only reason this place is as popular as it is is because they put up a good front and use the name of God to make themselves look better than they actually are. It's not a good place to live. This would be fine if it were a halfway house or a group home or something like that but it's not. It's a homeless shelter. Not all homeless people are on drugs or have a criminal record. Some of us just have really bad luck. This kind of thing is a fine example of how assumptions ruin things for the people that could actually use it. I am enraged and saddened at the way I've seen people treated here. They have no understanding of mental health at all so if someone is having a rough day, instead of trying to comfort them, they yell at them and threaten them with further homelessness. It's disgusting. To anyone thinking about donating here: don't. There are much more humane places that would actually use your donations to help people in the right way. This place is more like a zoo than a shelter. And the staff are more like corrections officers than volunteers. Don't let the smiles and the kind words fool you. Behind closed doors, these people are quite cruel to the needy.

However, what I didn't care for was the lack of inventory ( the store might have been a little sparse since they are just starting out) & the high prices. I comprehend the amount of hard work that goes into upcycling, I participate in this hobby myself; however the piece you see in the pic I provided was over $300.00! I could see if the sink was actually functional but it is strictly decorative... bases from old Singer sewing machines can be picked up @ flea markets starting at $25.00 & a used door @ Habitat for the same. I'm not saying don't shop here, just make sure you have a few pay checks saved up beforehand & that you bring a large van or truck as most of the furniture is too large for the average car.
