Because we did not notify them four months in advance that our lease was over, it automatically renews for one year. Yes, that is right! After you pay for the equipment completely, they will keep billing you if YOU don't remember to notify them four months in advance. Then they want this fee and that fee. We have leased from Axis Capital, National Funding and North Star. Nobody plays this game except for Providence. Stay far away. If there was less than 1 star this company would get it. BE VERY CAUTIOUS USING THIS COMPANY. The Providence Capital salesman phoned me consistantly for years asking for our business. We finally gave them a shot on a purchasing a truck and trailer based on what we were told. We agreed, and paid them a deposit to get things moving. Once the debt contract came back, it was not a loan but a lease, and calcualted at double the interest rate we were told. Further, after the final payment they required us to purchase the equipment at full market value. We attempted to back out of the deal due to their Bait and Switch technique but their fine print allowed them to keep our deposit of $15,000. Lawyering up would have cost more so we were forced into expensive debt that we hated every moment of paying to these scum bags. I truly hope you go somewhere else. read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU LEASE. THIS HAPPENED TO ME. In their lease proposal on paragraph 2 "(2) If Providence is unable to approve the proposed transaction on substantially the same terms as outlined above, the total deposit shall be refunded less thirty percent and entire documentation fee" Example: Providence proposed a $408 monthly payment. After I sent them a check of $1115, they then sent me the final agreement for $454 monthly. I did not like it and told them to refund my money. They had no problem to give me a check of $571.20. They took a fee of $299 plus 30% of the check I sent them. All because I did not agree to pay $454 monthly instead of $408 which they had proposed. ALL IM SAYING IS TO READ CAREFULLY AT THEIR PROPOSAL AGREEMENT AND THINK TWICE! read more

So this company doesn't lend less than $5000. The term sheet was very vague and favored Providence only and was confusing. The over all cost of the loan was super expensive because you pay $10600 (2 payments upfront and 58 monthly payments of $177) +$199 (which is a fee charged for their staff). The guy I dealt with is also a trained liar because he never revised the term sheet to reflect our conversation. He also tried to tell me he or his company were making no money on the deal even though they want in the big picture an additional $4600 worth of interest and that by taking this loan I was earning accreditation! I have no idea why anyone would use this company. We set out to purchase an industry specific software application and were referred to Providence to request funding. The person we spoke with was very pleasant and quick to respond. Unfortunately, the terms of their lease proposal are harsh and oppressive and we didn't proceed any further. I've never seen a process work this way so if this is the industry norm, forgive me, but this was my experience - After you apply for financing, you get a lease proposal. The proposal must be signed and contains a documentation fee of ~$200, an interest rate for your loan, and a deposit requirement, along with what I consider to be incredibly one-sided restrictions. Only after you sign the lease proposal do they decide if they are going to actually offer you financing and on what terms. You are required to submit a deposit along with the signed lease proposal, which is pretty much non-refundable and in my particular experience, was a little less than 10% of the requested loan amount. If they approve you and you accept the offer, the deposit goes towards your loan. Fair enough. If they approve you on substantially similar terms (which is undefined) and you decline, they keep the entire deposit. If they approve you but on terms that are not substantially similar to the lease proposal, they keep 20% of the deposit. Not to mention the lowest available interest rate was .4% higher than advertised on the application and you must irrevocably consent to jurisdiction in Orange County, CA and waive your right to a jury trial. To APPLY for a loan, not actually get it, just APPLY. No thanks. read more
