I apologize for the length of this review in advance but I find people who read reviews prefer honesty and thoroughness above all. I discovered Prototype House about one year ago and have since brought them two additional projects from people very close to me on top of my own project. In 2002, I began the entire process of going from idea to patent, to sourcing, to developing, production, sales and licensing of an invention in the toy/sporting goods market. I ended up selling the product to major and specialty retailers in Canada, the USA, and internationally. The product should still be on shelves today but it is not. The long and short of it is that even with three decades of manufacturing and sales experience behind me that led me to believe I could develop and engineer the product on my own in conjunction with offshore factories, I was totally wrong. The product sold but it was never designed or engineered properly from the start. Most good factories are great at one thing; copying. They are not there to design or innovate. Had I used a company as good as Protohouse from the start, I would have saved considerable time and money, but more importantly, our product would likely still be in the market globally and I would be writing from my large yacht. I waited essentially a decade for a new generation of kids to relaunch and this time, I am doing it with the expertise of Protohouse and for a fraction of the cost, we are doing this the right way. Wow! This can be a scary field when you don't know what you're doing! But with the team at Prototype House in my corner I literally felt like I could take on the world! Matthew and Juan were so encouraging as I presented my idea and also realistic enough to help me understand what to expect as we moved forward into design. That's where Heather's talent really shines. She helped me visualize my dream as she plotted it out on her computer! The Prototype House is awesome!! When I was looking for a company to help develop my new product I was very wary of getting ripped off and possibly having my ideas stolen. From the very second I walked into The Prototype House I knew they were the place for me! I could instantly tell they really know their stuff and have years of experience! The Prototype House team was the only one that started sketching exactly what I was thinking right there in our first meeting, before any payment discussions. They've completed each stage before their set deadlines and their pricing is very reasonable. They've even invited me to join them to visit manufacturers in China next month to discuss final production of the product. All of their designing and prototyping is done in-house. From beginning to end an all around an amazing experience. Knowledgeable staff and very hospitable. Matthew was very helpful and pointed us in the right direction. Brought up points and ideas that we hadn't yet even thought of. We never even discussed pricing or any money for that matter. The focus was on our product and the best way to get it out there and licensed. He showed a genuine interest in our idea and made us feel like we were definitely on to something. If nothing else the visit was well worth it, at least for the motivation and momentum to keep the ball rolling.
