Called first thing in the morning with a furnace/thermostat issue. They scheduled us for same day service. The technician finished up with a prior appointment early and called to ask if we would like him to come early (we were thrilled to accept). Russell, the technician, arrived and immediately corrected the problem, then gave us some input on changing out our thermostat. We were charged the base fee of $89 - no additional charges. Russell was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional (don't be put off by his youth - he knew what he was talking about). : ) Michelle in the office was prompt and friendly. Zero issues. I will be calling them again if I'm ever in need of any of the services that they provide, and I would recommend to others in/around Estes Park. read more

Interesting company. Tech came to my house because the whole house humidifier was not generating enough water. They quoted me $580. I ordered the new valve from Amazon for $21 and fixed it myself. Also was quoted $4600 for a new gas water heater. Sounds like a bit much since you can purchase one for $650. Very scary company. read more

Professional and reliable company with excellent service up here in Northern Colorado!

I'm a professional ex-general contractor that has worked with hundreds of subs. Take my word, the quality of work replacing a furnace and an a/c unit was sub-par. They ran the lineset along the walls of my laundry room, when it was in the crawl space originally. They also scratched my walls up and didn't clean up well after themselves. Communication was not very good. They also replaced a water heater for me at a price that was very high. I won't be using them again. read more

We have found them to be an excellent company and have experienced no price gouging or difficulty in dealing with them. Harold and Eric are very customer friendly, and we would recommend them highly. Harold went out of his way to resolve a problem with a new tankless hot water system that had been installed by another company. In short - overpriced and difficult to work with. I made the mistake of not getting a detailed estimate, and understanding it completely. Then, my builder paid them before I had a chance to OK everything. Some of the work they did was very nice, but they never did several things they said they would, and I have given up arguing with them. They also did some very odd things - such as placement of intake vents, thermostat and exhaust pipes - they did not think through the aesthetics of where they were placing things. read more

We've been using these guys for 3 or 4 years now, and they've been quite good for replacing really expensive items and repairs. At the very least, they answer their phone. However, we've been asking them to check the pH of our radiant heat system repeatedly now for over 2 years on their recommendation - they never tested it or let us know. Now we are faced with replacing ANOTHER heat exchanger within 15 months due to their neglect! (We only found this out because we went with another repair company after Protech pushed us to buy a whole new system for $16,000 to $19,000.) Our new company tested the pH and found it unacceptable, so the warranty on our 1 year-old heat exchanger is probably void. Needless to say, we cannot recommend Protech at all, except for the fact that they will answer their phones and send someone out. If you do choose to use these folks, make sure you get several other estimates for repair and stay on top of the maintenance for your own system. (BTW Harold retired recently!) read more

Highway robbers! Protech charge me $1500 for repairs to my radiant floor heating system. I called 2 other companies in Estes and they both would do the same repairs for around $500. Tim McPhee the owner offered me a refund of 15%. I had my CC company "charge back" $999 to my CC. read more
