The staff at LaPosada are exceptional! Kind, Welcoming, Helpful and knowledgeable. The services, activities, meals and quality of living is tremendous. My mother absolutely loves her apartment and she loves living there! She has made friends quickly and always has a friend (or new friend) to have dinner with each night. And we have joined her for dinner several times and the food is upscale and delicious! We especially like the cocktail hour each night in their bar area. I love that there are two restaurants to choose from and there are new specials every night. There are also plenty of fun, interesting shows, activities and exercise classes for her to participate in. She enjoys regular transportation to Publix, the mall, or a doctors appointment. In addition, the grounds and community center are so beautiful and peaceful. A special shout out to many of the wonderful staff members: First our initial contact Lonnie Ehmann who shared her time and talent and layed the foundation for our initial visits. Fabulous Kim Mancini, Yolanda, and Vivianna all made my mom's transition seamless and comfortable. Stephanie, Jennifer and all the wait staff at the Waterfront dining are so gracious and outstanding! The list goes on and on - I really can't say enough about all the staff at La Posada!! There is incredible comfort and peace-of-mind knowing that she is well cared for and that there are systems in place to check on her well being. Thank you for all that you do in making my moms' living conditions exceptional!

Now they require elderly folks, many who are ill and debilitated to come down the the main building to get their dinner (unedible, cold and mixed together in plastic containers). If they cannot, they charge the residents WHO ARE PAYING ABOUT $7000 (THAT'S RIGHT SEVEN THOUSAND) A MONTH a additional $4 to deliver food to their apartment, that they have not choice but to pay if they can't ambulate down to retrieve a dinner they can't get in even one of the four restaurants. This is only one example of the many, many ways Devonshire exploits the vulnerability of residents they see as wealthy enough to pay and too feeble to fight back. Terrible place...

The food is inconsistent. Sometimes the food is excellent, sometimes not so much. Sometimes the service is excellent sometimes not so much. On a recent visit I ate at the Cavendish twice. One night I got a slab of sea bass that had 2 grill marks and no seasoning served on a white plate with the potato. No garnish, no flavor. The other night I got duck with a tasty sauce and onions on top and it was excellent. This is a very expensive place which you have to pay for the meals whether you eat them or not even if you are out of town for an extended period. Residents have to make reservations for all the meals in person which is a hassle. There do not seem to be enough reservations for any of the special dinners. If you are new it is a tremendous amount of pressure to try to get into a table for dinner which you have to do every meal you eat. They talk about a friendship table once a week where anyone could come but it turned into the same people every week with no room for new people and there was some issue with that group so they stopped it. If you are thinking of coming here, or have a parent coming, eat here many times before you come. Come and socialize and make sure that you are comfortable here. Once you have pay your deposit, you have 4 months to back out. Moving is very difficult at any age, especially for those over 80 moving from a house. Once you are here, it is difficult to go somewhere else so I suggest you spend a lot of time here during those 4 months. I wish my mom would have. It seems a better social place for couples than it is single women. A big plus is that if you golf you can play at PGA National and use the health club. There is a league you can play in. The apartments are spacious with good storage as well. If you visit please ask about the concerns I have shared.

It is extremely easy to get to in Palm Beach Gardens less then a mile off the Florida turnpike. It is very easy to park once you come in to the development. It's an extremely nice lobby where you are immediately greeted. Check in was easy with their system and on our repeat visits were even easier as the computer remembers who you are via your phone number. My Aunt is there under the assisted living facilities and their level of personal care and monitoring of her is magnificent. Staff would be visiting her regularly While we were their sitting with her. She is currently eating meals in her room so they would deliver each meal on a very timely basis. The dining room is lovely and a wonderful environment for people to have their meals and socialize. There is plenty to do there, arts and crafts, game room, library, cinema and a very nice gym room with a lovely pool. The outside is equally as nice with plenty of comfortable sitting space. With a beautiful venue and high level of care, Discovery Village is a wonderful place to be. I also posted plenty of pictures of the facility. While a good majority of residents still abide by the Catholic No-Meat-Fridays, the facility sometimes only serves meat dishes on Friday - stating "We can make you a Grilled Cheese if you want". The priest hired to say mass can care less about the mass - many times he skips parts of the mass in order to get out of "work" sooner. Given the high price paid for a Catholic Senior Living Facility, their performance is AT BEST is one star, if even that.

You can't make this up. Nothing has changed since my last review: constant rate hikes, revolving-door management, and billing practices that feel designed to wear families down and drain accounts before their loved ones die. Maybe that's just the industry, but FountainView doesn't even pretend to care. If corporate is paying attention, there's no sign of it. -- Original Review Summary (for context): When I first chose FountainView for my grandmother, the initial rates and promises seemed fair. But quickly, my experience became nothing but frustration: arbitrary rate hikes, zero transparency, and no clear rationale for the constant cost increases. Families deserve better.

If you're actually considering FountainView, I strongly urge you to:…read more - Get every care assessment and cost breakdown in writing -- they'll often try to handle it all over the phone - Monitor every billing statement closely and request documentation for all care changes - Keep records of all conversations -- what's agreed to with one person may be walked back by another - Be ready to advocate persistently and protect your loved one from unnecessary confusion or pressure My strong recommendation is to just look elsewhere at all costs!
