I was advised that my repair or the replacement of the glass would be covered by my Progressive insurance. If I was unsatisfied with the repair they could get authorization to replace it. They scheduled another appointment for the windshield replacement. At completion of the windshield the cowl did not fit tightly against the glass, due to broken plastic clips, which needed to be replaced. They agreed at no additional charge to bring my van back at no additional cost to install the new plastic clips. After I purchased the clips on Amazon, they installed the clips at a separate appointment. Their customer service and workmanship was excellent. I strongly recommend SafeLite for all windshield repairs.

Price was affordable and the install was convenient as they came to the house. It seemed as if the install was completed without incident, until a day later when we noticed that the technician had dropped polyurethane on the car. This probably wouldn't have been a huge issue, except for the fact that this vehicle is a show car, with a $6,000 custom "House of Kolor" chameleon paint job. If you know anything about polyurethane, the adhesive that is used to seal with windshield, you know that once it cures, it's impossible to remove. I called the branch, and they sent the technician back out... with PAINT THINNER AND A PAPER TOWEL. When I called and asked to speak with the manager, she completely dismissed the situation. Once I pushed the issue, she decided to look into it further. As she should, considering her technician was completely careless in choosing to not cover the vehicle at install, and then careless or at the very least, incompetent when trying to remove cured polyurethane from a custom paint job. He removed the polyurethane, but with it came the clear coat as well as the paint that was underneath the polyurethane. We got a quote from our paint tech, and then the manager, Stacey, told us she needed a second opinion. We received the second opinion and the quote was significantly higher than our technicians. She dragged her feet through the Thanksgiving holiday. Her excuse was that everyone was on vacation, she was on vacation, she was short-staffed, etc. Finally, she wrote an email stating that their in-house attorney has advised that she cease communication and the claim be processed through general liability. This was a week ago. No one has reached out from the general liability insurance despite my 2 requests asking Stacey to expedite this process and have them reach out. I am a AAA member, and feel as if they should not be able to carry the AAA name. When your technician is careless and makes a mistake, you do the honorable thing and fix the issue. We have now lost time, money and are working through things with our attorney and contacting AAA corporate. A $400 windshield replacement has turned into a $3,000 loss. Please save yourself the hassle. Go to Safelite or another company that will not be careless with your vehicle.
