Even though I was critical in my review, all in all, it was acknowledged that the work done was professionally done. For sure, if a client wants work completed in a specific manner, it needs to be documented, as sometimes things discussed were not calculated into the estimate, and/or were perceived as future projects that needed an estimate and acceptance where both sides understand the terms and parameters of the obligations and commitments. I wanted to delete the review of Aug7, 2025, but, didn't see an option on YELP to do so. Perhaps it's due to the fact that I'm from the stone ages on the 20th century that I just didn't see the delete button for a previously submitted review, or maybe it just was never an option to remove a posting. Whatever the case, the two star review I previously submitted on YELP for Richmond Hill Handyman is inaccurate and should be ignored by those looking at reviews for this business.

Dale Shoemaker is one of the owners and came to our house to evaluate. He went on our roof as well as into our attic to see if there was any major damage or possible issues due to hail or wind. While one of the people who quoted said there was wind damage, Dale was very honest and said some of the roofing tiles were extremely worn as shown by the amount of particles in the gutters. What I really liked about him is that he said "honestly you can probably get 1-2 more years on this roof without any issues". No hard closing. He offered us extended warranties and could start as soon as we received approval from our POA. His price was reasonable and in the ballpark of others. They take credit cards, but also charge an additional 3% for that service. Brody from RGR called my wife once we had an approval to set up the job. The first thing they did was deliver the materials to our home and drop it on a pallet. Once they started the job, there were between 8-10 workers onsite. In one day, they fully demoed the roof, repaired any damaged plywood, layed down the protective layer and started applying the roof. They were completely done in less than 1 and a half days. The second day, they finished and detailed some of the corners and overhang. They went around the yard with their large magnet to collect any loose nails. Our neighbors have commented on the speed and quality of the work.
