The staff is communicative, caring, and fun. They strike a great balance between fun and learning, and our kids always came home having learned a new fact or life skill along with a story about a fun game or dance they did. We have been so surprised at how independent and outgoing our kids have become since starting at CHMS. We had to relocate from Houston, and of all the things we'll miss, CHMS tops the list. The folks there are so dependable and truly felt like family. It was truly a privilege to send our kids there, and we cannot recommend them highly enough.

This is a child led program and my daughter is blooming learning so much, right now she's very focused on sewing ! She designed her first dress this spring and loves cooking and learning with her peers in an intimate class setting. I really appreciate the teachers participation in her enrichment and I'm so glad my daughter is open to being taught by them. We are so fortune to have found this gem in Houston! Based on all the data for how important this is for kids, this doesn't seem like a challenging request -- but Blossom Heights was one of the only places I found where kids spend more than 2 hours outside (and most places it's more like 30-45 minutes). They have full and part-time programs, too, which is a major plus. It is not near where I live, but 100% worth the drive. The emphasis on open-ended play and being in nature is perfect. Each classroom has a dedicated outdoor area curated to their age/development. My son is outside for hours every day--painting, reading, playing with leaves, learning about bugs--it makes my day when I get pictures in the communication app of all the cute things he's doing. I'm so grateful he isn't stuck at a desk baking under fluorescent lights, or in a room with a million beeping toys. The classrooms are warm and cozy, full of open-ended activities but not overwhelming. The teachers and administrators are all so kind and loving. His teachers have been so patient with his reluctance to nap, and they give us the cutest insight into his days and growth. "Open-ended" and "play-based" is not a code word for laziness here, the teachers are extremely involved in crafting an environment that the children can learn from and guiding/nurturing them. They've been very careful with Covid precautions, too, and I never feel I'm taking unnecessary risk by bringing him to school. My only complaint is that I can't go to school here!

She enjoyed her one month so much there so I enrolled her in summer camps right after and she completed one full yr Fall '23 to Spring '24 until it was time for elementary school. She made so many friends and still keeps in touch with some even after entering a different school. It is great for kids, great for moms, and my husband loves how much the kids are flourishing there. I researched many Parent's day out programs in Houston, before deciding on First Friends and I am SO glad I did! My kids are so happy and thriving in this program. The teachers are nice, experienced, patient, and passionate about the kids. I love that I get a daily report on how their day was and the teachers are very communicative. The director is always at the door to greet parents at drop off and pick up and she is very involved. I am just so happy with this program. It is safe, clean, and my kids so happy every time they go, even more they are learning and gaining great social skills. They do so many activities that help with fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and they do so many crafts I'm amazed! From comments I have heard from other Mom friends it's seems that other MDO programs are more concerned with tuition than the kids and parents, that is not the case at First Friends. If you are looking for a MDO program check out First Friends you won't be disappointed! Your kids will love it and you will have peace of mind that they are safe and happy. All the other First Friends moms rave about the program and I have not heard anyone have any complaints! Most parents have had multiple kids go through the program. They are all very friendly, very nice and what is most important: they take good care of the children. My son who just turned 4, was not interested at first to practice any writing. And then, all of sudden, when he felt ready, and with the help and encouragement of Ms Liz, he started being more serious about it, instead of scribble-scrubbling. My son has learnt to count in Spanish and sings songs in Spanish and says words in Spanish. Love how he learns fast! Ms Dyesha is also one of my favorite teachers! She is funny and engaging. Love to start my days with joking around with her when I drop my son off(when I am not in my usual rush)! I love when I go pick him up in the evening and I am always welcomed by the warmth of Ms Ebony, the Assistant Director! She is funny and friendly! They might be understaffed, but they are able to manage and take good care of the children. The tuition is paid at the 1st of the month and it includes breakfast/snack/drinks. They serve breakfast from 6am to 8am max. As they start splitting up kids into their assigned rooms around 8:30. They do provide a discount for siblings. And they also have before/after school pick up. They also have a babies room where newborn and infants are taken care of. Never been there, but I know they have few babies in there, as I stumbled upon parents at drop off/pick up times.

When we started the search for day care and walked into TGTA, Ms. Toma instantly made us feel welcome and safe. She encouraged us to ask questions and visit as many other facilities to feel confident in our decision. Needless to say we knew from the start that TGTA was the right fit. Every morning our toddler runs up to her teachers and gives a big bear hug, which is a constant reminder to me of how much she enjoys her time here. I appreciate that she gets designated reading, music and art time. We find that her vocabulary, social skills and general curiosity are increasing by the day. For our infant, we receive daily reports for feeding, naps, diapers, etc which makes the transition from school to home that much easier. There is transparency with multiple webcams for parents, and flexible hours for drop-off and pick-up. The teachers and staff truly care about our kids, and we consider ourselves so fortunate to be part of the TGTA family.

Amazing day care center!…read more My kid has been going here for over a year and has transitioned between 3 classrooms. This Facility was our favorite by far when we did tours in the area - modern building / facilities, great technology to stay connected and monitor your kids, and very friendly and competent staff. This is what daycare should be like in today's age! Parking can be a bit of a pain at times as pickup / drop-off for most parents are around the samtimes and the parking spaces are not the biggest. There's also a high school across the street that causes some traffic disruption but just avoid those times. They give you two apps, one that the teachers use to track meals / diaper changes, and one that you can see your kid at all times. There's a fairly structured curriculum for the kids, though usually I just see them running around having fun. The staff are all very friendly and will try to give each individual kid as much love as possible. Highly recommended

As much as I wanted to like this school because of the initial tour (which is gonna be the only…read moretimes that you might ever see a director or the owners) and the proximity to us, the experience for us was disappointing on many levels. We left three years ago after several months of enrollment, yet I STILL have negative feelings about our time there and unfortunately, I continue to hear from others about some of the same issues. I was initially very enthusiastic about Mariner and even recommended it to two friends, both of whom stayed And were quite happy. In my case unfortunately, things did not work out and turned unpleasant quickly. In my son's class, one wonderful teacher left, followed shortly by the other. Within a short period of time, the class went from a teacher-to-child ratio of approximately 1:8 to 1:22 children. The replacement teachers who showed up over night were very young, no native English speakers and without credentials or experience I would expect from teachers responsible for so many young children. More concerning to me were the safety issues. On two occasions, my son came home with unexplained bruises. The second incident ultimately led me to withdraw. I received him back with a huge bruise, and no one at the school could explain how it happened! Two days later was then told that he 'had a habit of rubbing his head against the carpet'--something he had never seen before and I have never seen since. During my meeting with the director, it became obvious that someone was not watching my son and he got injured, but they were not clear about how it happened. Do not send your child here! We immediately withdrew and while Ms Jenny and Ms Pat handled the situation courteously and refunded tuition and deposit without delays, the experience left me deeply concerned. During the time my son was enrolled, there was also an extraordinary amount of staff turnover. Several teachers who had left stayed in touch with us and told us they had left because of poor working conditions and low pay ($13/hr). There was also a woman at the front door (Ms Jessica 2021-2023) who was consistently rude and made morning drop-off unpleasant for families. She was eventually replaced only after she moved to New York. Another thing that always bothered me was the overwhelming smell of cleaning chemicals. I understand and appreciate the importance of cleanliness, but my son would often come home smelling strongly of Fabuloso. It was so strong that I found myself wondering whether the school was relying too heavily on chemicals rather than using more thorough cleaning methods such as deep or steam cleaning. I genuinely dreaded that smell when I picked him up. To make a long story short, there are better options out there. After leaving Mariner Montessori, we enrolled our son at Children's Village in West University, and our experience there was absolutely wonderful year after year. Mariner Montessori was a very difficult experience for us, and unfortunately, even years later, I still have not forgotten it. I heard a similar concerns from another parent, and finally decided it was important to share my experience as well. I hope this helps other families make an informed decision. Each school has their pros and cons.

We had to switch daycares after moving, and we truly miss Primrose Garden Oaks. We are especially thankful for everything they did for our son. His teacher, Miss Luz, was absolutely wonderful, drop-offs were always easy because he felt safe, loved, and comfortable with her. Even on his last day, the administrative staff made a point to give him such a warm goodbye, which meant so much to us. We have since moved to another Primrose location, and unfortunately, the level of care and personal connection has not been the same. Some of the things that really stood out at Garden Oaks were having a staff member consistently present at the front desk to monitor who was coming in and out, staff knowing both parents' and children's names, breakfast being included, and the consistency of the teaching staff. Primrose Garden Oaks truly felt like a family, and we will always be grateful for the love and care they showed our son.

It's hard for me to write this review but it has been a few months and I think I can finally say…read morethings without being emotional. When my toddler started here, things were so good! It was amazing to see him be social especially since he's a COVID baby. The ratio was small, his teachers and staff great. A few months passed and the school started to reach maximum ratio in his class (higher ratio here in general compared to other facilities nearby) and that's when things started going downhill. My son started to not want to go to school. For weeks it would be a battle and he would cry seeing the school. I didn't understand but then we started getting daily phone calls with reports of incidents--he was being bitten, hit and scratched by others for 2 weeks straight. Sometimes he would come home with bruises with no reports and we'd have to call to find out what happened. We had many, many meetings and calls with staff to rectify the situation as we loved the school but in the end, they took little responsibility and minimal changes while my son still bears a scar on his face from one of the incidents. There's so much more I could write but I think the above is the most important. They just expected me to shrug things off, even sent a mass letter stating that biting is normal. Not sure what that helps when my son was getting hurt daily. Also, he never hit or retaliated--I asked the teachers. So it wasn't him.
