Although I agree that this place has a cool vibe and I enjoyed the events as a member, the business side of things can by the co-founders can be shady.
I bought full access to the lounges. I went to cancel on Jan. 2 as Jan. 1 was a holiday. There was NO terms and conditions on their website or cancellation policy or refund policy. In addition, they did not make me sign any membership contracts when I registered. I thought you could cancel your membership all the way up to the first day of the month. I was not told otherwise.
I sent both of the co-founders Jeff Howard and Neil Martin 6 text messages and emails to date and did not receive a reply. When they finally did reply in regards to my cancellation, Jeff said that I had to cancel by the last day of the month, which is Dec. 31. He did not mention this when I first started with PS and I believe he could have made up this 'policy' on the spot to save himself.
In addition to this, I was out of town for 2 weeks and then couldn't come back to Toronto for an additional 2 weeks due to the via rail blockage by the protesters. I asked for an extension on my membership since it was out of my control that I couldn't come back to Toronto. Again, my emails went unanswered.
Additionally, different members get different treatment at this space. They say the lounge membership is $45 and it's 2 visits. But it's an 'honor system'... so a lot of members go way more than 2 times and they don't check. While on the other hand, they over charge other members like myself and they also don't reply to any emails or pick up my phone calls.
At this time, I am submitting a complaint with Consumers Canada for what I consider to be unethical business practices conducts by Project Spaces. read more
