We were able to utilize their space for our large group from across Canada and the US and we were super impressed with the space. Two full days in their large conference space together and cabin fever was never a thing. Two large screens, WiFi, free coffee and beer, snacks. Escapes were plenty if needed but thankfully our group never wants to vote anyone off the island when we are together. We brought in outside food for lunch and delivery and the staff was friendly. Would love to get a work space here if I lived in the area. There seems to be loads of opportunities for socializing, networking, and getting work done.

Great common area for socializing, holding open meetings, and hosting meetups/group meetings. Major issues they're still working out: 1. Need to fix heat. Our team members are literally wearing jackets and scarves all day. 2. Need more meeting rooms. With desks and office capacity for 70+ people, you would expect a number of shared meeting rooms, phone booths, etc. Unfortunately there is only 1 boardroom and 1 phone booth. All other rooms have been rented as private offices. 3. Need better internet/wifi. Connection speed is mediocre (6Mbps down/8Mbps up this morning), wifi signal strength inconsistent, many ethernet ports not connected to network. For a coworking space for digital companies where VOIP is common (especially in the absence of meeting rooms with phones) and screaming fast internet is a staple, there's still lots of work to be done.

I recently toured the space to check it out and if I lived in the area, I would be signing up in a heartbeat. They offer hot desks, dedicated desks and private offices which range in price from $250/mth to as much as $3200/mth for their largest office. Each of the offices give you access to the facilities which include black and white printing, reception, coffee, tea, soda and even BEER! The environment is very collaborative and I was told they will have an online community to allow the members to connect online. Nowhere that I've experienced has 'got it' quite as well as the accommodating ambiance and fine cosmetic curation exhibited at East Room. That's not a small feat. It's a world where everything is filtered to exacting standards. Every element from the mid century modern furniture to the Aesop soap in the restrooms seems hand-picked to portray the enthusiasm of entrepreneurship and the celebration of connoisseurship. This is a place where they call their patrons 'members'. A place where they devote as much energy to building a creative program full of music as they do to having a functional workspace. It's a jaw drop every time you walk in the room. The entire space is formed around several communal areas that are warm, inviting and accessible. Is it an office? Absolutely not. Is it a nightspot? No. It's best described as a 'cultural incubator'. Sure, this is casual commerce. But it works. Unlike other spots of this sort, there aren't people coding away on dark computers in self-exile. And somehow they've kept the douchebag-filter on 'strict'. I've been incredibly impressed at the consistent caliber of interesting and influential people who have entered the space. This wasn't very convenient as it was super cold out - also DARK in the potties. The basement was definitely trashed though. Lots of spills, and cans and glasses on the floor. Not enough garbage cans, obviously. An Instagram corner of course - with disco balls. Crazy to contrast it with the rest of the basement area. Music was good, but there wasn't enough/any real disco tracks. The crowd wasn't really crazy at any point. Maybe it just wasn't my type of party?

There was a slight hiccup with cancelling our services as the individual that normally handles closing accounts was on vacation when we asked but one phone call and forwarding on the email with the date we requested our services end was all it took to sort it out and get a refund for the extra months charged.
