So much fun! I've been doing escape rooms for years now and I love when I find a really good place. It was our first time at Project Escape and the staff there was so nice and welcoming. We did Vault 202 with only 4 people and although we didn't escape we had a blast! We had 5 clues and our game master Collins was so cool and fun! He was really helpful whenever we asked him questions. The room can hold up to 8 players so the fact that we almost escaped (we had 2 more puzzles to solve) with only 4 people was really good. I believe the difficulty for the room was 6.5 out of 10. The puzzles were good and not too hard or confusing. It was challenging enough that it was fun and didn't make you feel lost. I'm definitely going back to try the other rooms!

Can't wait until the next time...

Took the kids and ended up NOT escaping from two rooms lol but totally worth it! We had such a good time. We will be going again. Not to mention the staff was awesome! This place is definitely kid friendly!

Our group had a great time at Project Escape. It was difficult choosing between all of the different rooms because we had a mix of first-timers and some veterans, but ultimately we elected to go with Vault 202. This room was right around the median in terms of difficulty, and it had a good amount of scavenging and teamwork involved. When you arrive, you have to sign a quick waiver form. I like that in the waiting room there are some mind games to sharpen your mind just before you start. I saw a couple of people enjoying the rubik's cube, so they must've been pretty serious about their readiness. I just played a quick game of tic-tac-toe to keep my mind sharp. We waited just a little longer than our scheduled start time. But after our game, I kind of understood why, and I'll get into that a little later. Once we were ready to begin, the hostess walked us through the hallway and into our escape room. Once inside, she did a fantastic job explaining all of the details to us, what to expect, and things of that nature. And then we were ready to begin! The hostess was great with giving us clues and making sure we stayed on task. I can't tell you how many times she helped us out of a tough situation. She helped us just enough to keep it interesting and fun for all of us. In the end, we were able to escape with just under 2 minutes to spare. During the escape room, there were A LOT of clues we had to go through and toss around the room. After debriefing us, our hostess had to return to the room to put everything back in order for the next group. This is why I mentioned that it didn't surprise me that it took a little longer to tidy up depending on how strewn about the clues were by the previous group. We took some pictures in the room and outside with some funny signs. Overall, we all had a fantastic time. Everyone was smiling and laughing after the experience. I can't wait to rehash it with the group later on. Definitely give this escape room a try. You'll be sure to have a lot of fun.

WE JUST ESCAPED ALL THREE ROOMS! Tonight!!! Really, really cool escape rooms with awesome staff. Everyone here is super friendly. I have tried escape rooms at other locations and I think Project Escape's rooms are a bit on the simple side when it comes to design, but they still involve very complex puzzles you'll enjoy solving. We started with Knight's Quest, then Vault 202, and finally Exposure. I liked them all fairly the same. Vault 202 seemed the easiest for us and Exposure was definitely the toughest -- lots of puzzles to piece together. We would have never made it out of Exposure without an awesome game host helping us along the way. There is a loyalty program where if you escape the three rooms, you get a free t-shirt (they sell these for $20 at the front). It's an AWESOME feeling! If you lose your punch card for any one of the rooms, just show them a copy of your victory picture as proof. PRO TIP: find deals and discounted pricing for this place on sites like Groupon; we did all three rooms with a discounted rate. HAPPY ESCAPING!!!

Excellent experience, we met new friends and conquered Vault 202! Woo woo!

Excellent family activity!! We had our very first Escape Room experience today, we visited Project Escape and selected Vault 202. We used a Groupon, based off other Yelp reviews and it knocked the price down to about $21 each. (The savings was about 20%, but would have been worth it regardless). Our family group consisted of 2 adults and two kids (11 and 13). We scheduled our visit online a few hours prior, and we were the first group out of the 10 spaces. When we got there we saw that we were teamed up with another family, and thank God that we were. It made the experience truly enjoyable and as a result we solved the room! We traded contact info to do another room together. Everyone went nuts when we "disarmed the bomb." It was the epitome of good, clean, fun. I encourage everyone to be open to teaming up with folks you don't know. TIPS - when the clock starts, immediately search for clues, shout out what you find, then place them in a communal spot where everyone can start piecing things together. From there, don't hesitate to divide and conquer the individual puzzles. Time goes quickly, we started requesting clues (you get 5) after about 25 minutes when we first felt somewhat stuck. From there, don't hesitate to request clues (once the group agrees) while continuing to work on other puzzles. Lastly, our game master was awesome and contributed to our positive experience. My family talked about the game the entire way home. We will be back!

Project: Escape opened March 18, 2016 in Marietta. It's one of several escape room businesses to open in metro Atlanta over the last couple years. My friends and I are escape room enthusiasts and have formed a team, Team Bad Math, to tackle escape rooms across town. To date, we've taken on close to 25 different rooms at various businesses. We took on Artifact at Project: Escape on July 22, 2016 and successfully solved the room with 10:34 left on the clock. We had a good time and look forward to returning and taking on Project: Escape's two other rooms, Exposure and Vault. Here's a quick rundown of the rooms: * Exposure (4-12 players) - you have to quarantine a virus and make it out of a lab before it's incinerated * Vault (4-10 players) - you have to disarm a nuclear bomb before time expires (this room is inspired by the Fallout video game franchise) * Artifact (2-8 players) - you have to piece together a missing archaeologist's final discovery before you potentially go missing as well We had a team of five for Artifact. Since we didn't want to team up with strangers, we bought out the entire room for our time slot. Buying out an entire room is the only way to ensure you won't have to solve a room with strangers. However, the folks at Project: Escape will tell you that some of their most successful runs have been done with teams of people who've never met before. Our team, which can vary in size depending on who's available, just prefers to solve rooms together exclusively. I like the camraderie. Project: Escape regularly charges $25 per person per room. However, at the time of writing this review, there are currently some excellent Groupon deals available at https://www.groupon.com/deals/project-escape-2. You can save up to over 50% per ticket by purchasing through Groupon. When we arrived for our 9:45pm Friday night booking of Artifact, we were surprised to see the lobby packed with people. The escape room business is alive and well in Marietta. I've never seen an escape room lobby so packed. The place was emptying out its three rooms and reloading them with another wave of customers that included us. Start times are staggered 15 minutes apart, but it felt like all three of our groups (Exposure, Vault, and Artifact) started at the same time. I think it's because they happened to be very busy and it took some time to reset the rooms. Artifact was fun. This room was less action, gadgetry, and technology, and more cerebral than what I'm accustomed to. The setting is an archaeologist's office. There are lots of clues along with riddles and puzzles that must be solved. There are plenty of locks, but it's not overkill. I was hoping for some "ooh-ahh" moment with this room, but really didn't have one. Usually, this comes from a really creative contraption or some sort of unexpected reveal. I didn't experience that here. Perhaps I will in one of the other rooms. Regardless, I thought Artifact was well put together and appropriately sized for our group of five. I could see it getting tight with eight people, but still doable. The room had quality props and an awesome soundtrack that included tracks from the Indiana Jones movies as well as dramatic music that amped up the pressure when time started to wind down. (Side note: They used Indiana Jones music in the Destiny room at The Escapery, also in Marietta, too.) Matt Hutchinson (I believe he is one of the owners or at least, a manager) was our gamemaster. He gave us an overview of the room, objective, house rules, and video-monitored our progress throughout the one hour we had to solve it. Unlike other escape room businesses, there was no limit on the number of hints we could ask for at Project: Escape. Matt kept an open, humorous dialogue with us via chat over a video display. He did admit to us before the game began that he lets folks "flounder" a bit before giving away hints. That makes sense because it makes the game more fun and satisfying. We tried to not ask for many hints. One thing I like about Project: Escape that is different from all the other escape rooms I've been to is if you beat a room, the staff lets you take a victory picture *inside* the room itself. That's pretty cool. Also, if you beat a room, your team gets to sign the door to that room. Look for our Team Bad Math signatures on the lower right door jamb to Artifact. :) If you solve all three rooms, you get a special Project: Escape victory T-shirt that's not for sale.

This was our first time doing this so we chose the one with Science formulas?! Math?! Its called the EXPOSURE IT was lots and tons of fun. Some of the clues, as explained in the directions, are right in your face and sometimes you can't think too hard because it's the obvious answer. Other times, it takes some more brain power I won't give away too much since there will be others after us, but we were just two clues away from breaking out! They have a cool system where every room has a "game master". They'll be watching over you through a camera. You're given 5 hints throughout when you ask, and they'll appear on the screen in the room. Also, if you get claustrophobic, you can walk out at anytime. I think the general consensus was that we'd all love to go back and try another (easier) room. But there was not any easy rooms at all they where going harder harder.

Ten minutes away from the record!

My bro and I first time here. Both of us done escape rooms before, so we have some exp. We also had a friend and a family of three too. We had a great time! We done the murder express. We were ten minutes away from record. The staff were friendly and nice. I can see why this place is top 6 in Atlanta for escape rooms. We'll be back to try another!

We visited on December 17th in the evening as a group of 8 and teamed up with a group of 2. I forgot the name of the room we did but it was a lab setting with white coats hanging against the wall. Our host was new so he was still learning the ropes. He explained the rules and answered all questions and did a great job! I just thought some of the objectives were extremely unreasonable (don't want to ruin it for you by giving it away) and the only way to figure out those parts is to ask for a clue. There is one particular part that unsolvable without asking for a clue. I also felt like there was no flow to the story. There were many times where I just stood around bc there wasn't anything for all of us to do (i didn't have this issue at other locations). Also, our host completely butchered some of our clues. He gave us the wrong clue and we pretty much spent 7-10 minutes standing there trying to figure out what he was saying. When time ran out and he came inside the room and when we asked him how to solve the part we were stuck at, even he couldn't figure out that particular objective. BUT HE WAS GIVING US THE CLUES?!?! I did not like my experience here. But they have 30 good reviews. So maybe I am an outlier but I'm being honest.

"Archeology is not an exact science. It does not deal in time schedules!" -- Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) Project Escape is located in Marietta - kind of across the street (Cobb Parkway) from Marietta Diner. A good landmark for those of you that know it. Also a good pre or post game meal for those of you looking for a full-evening plan. My friends and I are serious about our escaping, so this is a our usual schedule. We found PE because of Groupon and are very happy that we did. A couple of great points about PE: Obviously, the Groupon, but also they allow you a deal for buying out the room - this is a must for my team. We have learned (the hard way), that it is always a benefit to us to work with strangers. We have a core team of 6, with other friends who join us from time-to-time and our dynamic is such that it works best for us to work with ourselves. Also, Matt (the owner/creator) is our level of nerd. So many amazing Easter Eggs in each room that it's like Christmas as you go through each of the rooms. Our first time at PE, we did the Artifact room - think Indiana Jones theme. Very fun - 5 of us took on this room (max of 8 people for this). We did well and escaped without a problem and loved every minute. Personally, I had fun with the theme, the music (I was calling out to our Game Master, Matt, which movie each piece of music was from). The music kept me inspired for sure! The room was not overly filled with tricks and gadgets. Just enough with the locks and puzzles and nothing so complex that we felt lost. Just the right amount of thinking needed and we had the right group to get it solved. It was crazy busy on a Friday night - we didn't start at our scheduled time. They do stagger start times, but the lobby was packed with people and actually all three rooms got started around the same time. It did work out well for us as there was no outside distraction when we got going. More recently, we came in on a Thursday night to do Vault 202 - a Fallout themed room. Hannah (of Cambridge) was our Game Master this time and she did an excellent job as well. They had upgraded a bit with the screens in the rooms (they talk to you thru TV monitors) and track the number of clues you use - this had been tweaked a bit from our original visit in August. Vault has you locked in a post-apocalyptic fallout shelter and you have to work your way out before a nuclear bomb detonates - this one is meant for up to 10 people. We had 8 and it seemed like too many to me. At times, people had little to do or we were tripping over each other. The room is plenty big, but the area where you work on things it concentrated. This room seemed to have more things to unlock and solve and was less brainy than Artifact. Lots of nods to Fallout (which played to to the two guys in the group more than the ladies. We definitely wasted probably 10 minutes in this room having so many folks as communication was lost a few times, but (I'd have to ask), I don't think we used but one clue. Overall, the quality of the rooms is great and the creativity is top notch. I do like that they allow you to get group photos in the rooms, with props, after you escape. You also get to sign the doors. Next up, is Exposure (which is being revamped a bit) and takes up to 12 people - I think we won't have so many. They do give you a punch card as you solve rooms and once you solve all 3, you get a limited edition tee shirt. Cannot wait for that one!

We escaped! This was the most fun I've had in s long time!

This place was AWESOME! I say grab some friends and escape! We would have never made it out alive without the help of our guide, Steven!

Amazing place to have a fun night with friends and family! We did two rooms.. Saw themed room first, which we should of waited bc it's my favorite movie and there was a lot of technical issues. The good thing is that they are planning to reset the room which allows us to go through with new story. The second room was the Vault.. when we entered the room it was already warm, the temp increased as we played.. in not sure if it's an central unit issue? None the less, we escaped and it was so much fun! There were a LOT more clues on Vault than Saw.

    Aaron C.

We had a freaking blast! Our game host, Skyler, was awesome. They allow you up to five hints in the game that we played and they are actually interactive hits, so is he is watching you struggle he can help you with the things that you're struggling with. But it was so much fun. And we made it out of the room! The big question... To hit the button, or not to hit the button...

Beat the Bomb is such a fun, interactive experience! I came with my boyfriend and we had no idea…read morewhat to expect - the structure of the game is that you play 4 mini games that last 10 minutes each. The better you do in these mini games, the more time you're awarded to "beat the bomb". After you go through your 4 games, you suit up into the hazmat looking suits, step into a room with all the paint, and you have as much time as you've accrued over your mini games to beat the bomb! If you don't beat the bomb, you'll definitely get splashed with the paint, but if you do beat the bomb, you get the option to get splashed or not (but why would you ever pass on getting splashed???) How I see it, the mini games are split into 2 categories - 2/4 games require more brain and memory, and 2/4 games are more active. They alternate them, thankfully! My only complaint is that the wristband scanners in one of the rooms (the audio/visual room on the left side) felt a little jank. We had to attempt to scan multiple times before it would read. Teams are minimum of 2, maximum of 6, so ideal for a date activity, a small group of friends, or a family! It was so fun to receive our photos and videos back! I'm glad that this is included in the base price, as usually getting any type of photo/video back is an upcharge. Would highly recommend this unique experience

A heads up would have been really good bc we had plans after but had to cancel them. One of the rooms weren't working (our 2nd game) and one of the staff told me we would have to come out of the experience and wait another 30 minutes if we wanted to get it fixed bc there were other groups right behind us. That was a weird response and solution. Then a nice male staff member saw us waiting and said "oh that's silly, I'll hook yall up" and fixed it for us so we could continue. Shout out to him for just doing what was logical but also being nice about it. At the end of the experience, we waited 30m for our video to pop up and never got it. We ended up getting another groups video. The staff said to just email HQ. I emailed them and never heard back. So what should have been a 1hr event turned into a a cumulative 4+ hr event. The concept was great and I'm sure other groups have a great experience, but they were battin pretty low on the day we came through.

Our game master met us about 15 minutes before our start time. It was a short dark walk to the cabin. He gave us the instructions inside because it was very cold out. Once we got inside it reminded me of Stranger Things, and it was pretty awesome. The room was freezing but they did have a small heater. There were 9 ppl in our party. So leaving the venue was difficult probably because it was night time and I believe he said it was a sixty acre farm. The pricing was low and I'd even say a steal for the experience. The game master provided clear concise instructions. His enthusiasm really set the tone for the game. He also gave us all the fun facts and details about how the cabin exterior and some interior was actually part of the Stranger Things set. The game challenge level was just the right level of difficulties and the clues and theme as a whole was very well thought out. This was definitely a gem we stumbled across in our visit to Atlanta and arguably one of the highlights of our trip. 10/10, would definitely recommend.
