I've done 6 Escape Games. In Atlanta, I have gone to Mission Escape in Midtown, Ultimate Escape in Cumberland, Paranoia Quest in Atlanta. In terms of quality of the puzzles, I would say this one did a good job; the puzzles were moderately easy to comprehend (not too far-fetched) and relative to the story line. Mostly visual puzzles. Guide was very good. They have their assistance on-screen help down well. Design of the room and 'Coolness' of the hunt was lacking compared to the others. It felt quite bare compared to the other rooms I've been through. Overall, it isn't my favorite one in Atlanta - but it's worth it if you have the time and money. Took 10 family members with players ranging from 14-60. We did the "Trapped in Time" room. It was challenging and fair. The room master gave just enough clues when asked to help but did not ruin the puzzle. A great variety of challenges that kept everyone involved. Last night my husband and I tried the FBI investigation escape room. This was our first time doing one of these and it by far did not disappoint. The puzzles and mind games kept us busy until the very end! Literally we escaped with 17 seconds left on the clock. The theme was awesome! Extra special shoutout to who ever decided to get FBI jackets for the players! We went with two friends that have done an escape the room before and they said that this place was awesome because the game master (person who took us in room and got us started) helped us along the way. This was our first time there and the staff were Fantastic!! Friendly- funny- and got you into the perfect mood to solve your case!! Without giving anything away mine was a party of six adults and we had a blast doing the CDC game- and had we had one more minute we would have escaped !! The nice part is when all is said and done your " Escape Master" not only shows you anything you missed but recognizes each of the players for what they did throughout the game! They took notes!! I think we broke a record. The solve rate is only 34% and the games are designed with eight people in mind. So, we were at a disadvantage. DISCLAIMER: I am married to one of the other reviewers, C D., and was also provided with the promo code. I too was asked to provide my honest opinion and feedback, and these opinions are my own. We were greeted with a friendly smile and asked to sign waivers when we walked in the door. We were also promptly informed that we would be teamed up with four other individuals to make up our team as a part of the escape. This was our 2nd escape experience, but our first experience at Urban Escape Games. We were provided instructions and shown a short video explaining the general rules of the game and got to know our new teammates before we started playing. Our "guide", Sylvan, then came and took us to our room, "CDC Lockdown". Sylvan was also great and gave us folders to start the hour off. He also indicated we had the option of asking for 3 help clues throughout the course of our game.. The clues and puzzles were of moderate difficulty, and with a team of 6, we felt like the team was the right size and not too big or too small. Sylvan explained to us that they allow teams of a maximum of 8 people. (Our first escape experience was as a part of a team of 10.) Without giving too much away, the puzzles were based on association, mapping, math, and critical thinking and problem-solving. It also relied heavily on the team members to openly communicate and demonstrate leadership as well as teamwork. As C D. mentioned, we escaped with 9 minutes to spare. We used all 3 of our help clues during the course of the game, which is part of the strategy of escaping the room (why not use the help clues if you have the option and opportunity to use them, right?). Afterwards, we got to take pictures as a team and as a couple and the pictures were emailed to us, and included in the experience. I would certainly return to UEG and play another game at full price. I had a hard time imagining how the virtual game could possibly translate into real-life and was sincerely ready to be disappointed - how could this be fun for an entire hour?? Well, it was so much more fun than any of us could possibly have imagined!! We got lucky that our group ended up being the two couple friends who know each other well. We were told it would be tough to get out with only four people, but we made it! Six of us are part of a weekly game night group, with really diverse levels of gaming experience, problem/puzzle solving, and intoxication. Leaving out the last element, we really enjoyed our time at Urban Escapes. The puzzles were a lot of fun! A lot of work, a lot of math (Pascal's Triangle played a prominent role) but also lots of room for creative types to think outside the mathematical box. The time really flew by! We used our clues, and missed completing our escape by about five minutes. All of us had a terrific time, and I think it really made us a stronger team. We all intend to do it again, and next time I think we will have enough people to completely fill up the team. Highly recommend this for any group of friends or co-workers. Honestly, I can't imagine completing this with strangers. We were lucky to know which of us could do math and which of us could find unusual clues in unlikely places. Our company had our first get-together at Urban Escape. We had a ball! Such a good way to get acquainted with each other better in ways that we don't get the opportunity to do at our jobs. We were in the Jewel Heist Room and, wowee, the clues were so cool; we each found our own ways to contribute and altogether bonded in a fabulous way! I was not sure what to do at first but quickly got involved. Very clever and a great experience. The entire staff was extremely accommodating, from my initial contact and throughout the planning process. We were able to have a separate space for our meeting (with a PowerPoint presentation) that worked out beautifully. The atmosphere provided such a good place to get to know each other. The staff was very friendly and gave good feedback on how people did at the end, pointing out specific moments of good teamwork. There were some really cool surprises I can't tell you about :) The photo at the end is a great idea. They are good at thinking things through. My friends and I did the CDC lockdown. I did this escape room several months ago as a giant team building experience with coworkers. It was the first time I had ever done an escape room so I really didn't know what to expect but it was phenomenal. It seemed that we had a dedicated staff member watching our room. While that was a little unsettling initially, it resulted in an excellent experience. The staff member watched us as we progressed through the room and knew exactly what hints we needed when we called in for them. I highly recommend this escape room and will definitely be returning to share the experience with friends and family. read more

We ESCAPED CDC with 9 minutes to spare! Disclaimer: I was provided a promo code and asked to provide my honest review. My review and opinions expressed are my own. We had a great time at Urban Escape! If you've ever played a mystery solving virtual reality type video game, this is 100 times better. Instead of clicking around a screen with your mouse, you can actually touch and examine objects to solve a series of puzzles and Escape/Win. There were a total of 6 people in our group. The max is 8 people for a session. The escape lasts 1 hour. We watched an entertaining intro video about how the game is setup. Our "game master" led us into the room and gave a brief intro and then left the room and a video started playing. There is a place to deposit your purse/coat in the room (your stuff is with you the whole time). Overall the room was new, items were new/great shape, all the puzzles worked correctly. Monitors are new. We had the right number of people in the room. We Escaped with a little over 9 minutes to spare! The owners said that we were 30 seconds shy of the record for the fastest solve. After the session, they give you a souvenir magnet that either says, "I ESCAPED!" or "I almost ESCAPED" Our team got the "I Escaped!" magnet for solving the room. If you don't finish, you get the "I almost Escaped" magnet. Game master took a few pictures of us and we were able to view and send (email or text) to ourselves immediately. Magnets and pictures were included as part of the package. Overall, we had a great time and would highly recommend URBAN ESCAPE! TIPS (not spoilers) if you want to Escape: There are 3 hints you can ask for when you get stuck. We used all three hints. When you first enter the room, you will find clues for more than one puzzle, but the puzzles must be solved sequentially. We could not figure out which clues went to the first puzzle, so we used our first hint within the first 10 minutes of the game. Don't be afraid to use your hints! Once you solve the first puzzle, by process of elimination, it will get easier to identify the next puzzle to be solved. read more
