I merged onto the highway behind an untarped gravel truck. Immediately, before I could change lanes to get away from this obvious hazard, it dropped a stone off its tailgate that bounced up and cracked my windshield. I flagged down the truck. The driver said to call his insurer, Progressive, and they'll handle it. After making me submit a ton of online paperwork, do an online interview, then wait a month, Progressive refused to cover my windshield, citing lack of evidence (even though the driver was their covered customer). Only one star? Wow. This insurance company must really suck. FLO can't save it ... Claim Number: 26-838828786. 2008 PT Cruiser with only 26,800 original miles and an old lady backed into a rear fender. After haggling with Progressive who initially refused liability, I flipped it to my favor. Now they want to salvage my car. Progressive says paying repair costs of $3,300 will be more than the value of the car. Really? I find value of this make and model all over the place in excess of $6,000 AND they have 70,000 to 120,000 miles. Mine has 26,800. Progressive not only sucks, they lie, cheat, and deceive - the trifecta of fraud! Go somewhere else for insurance. Thanks for listening. read more

Progressive is the worst insurance company. I can't get any help on anything I call them for. I'm taking my business to state insurance or triple A. Only because I'm required to have car and home insurance. What do they do with all the money you pay them? Use it to pay their salaries so they can answer the phone to say your insurance doesn't cover accidents it only covers my salary and commission. read more

So far I have had a frustrating experience with Progressive. Wanted to move my homeowners insurance also but am still waiting for them to get the information correct on my car. And this is just for a policy, not a claim. I'll give them 30 days, if they still can't get information correct I'll look elsewhere. If they fix the issue I'll update my review. read more

Have had Progressive for a few years now. Dutifully paying my premiums every month. Came out to find my car with damage from the front bumper to the rear quarter panel. Looks like someone swiped me. Placed a call to see about getting it fixed and I should've known something was up when the lady on the phone kept asking me how much damage was already there (??). I told them "none" as we just found all of it the same day. She told me they could just give us some money if we dont really want it fixed (again ??). I said no, I would like it to be fixed please. We go through all the motions of getting it down to the body shop etc. Show the shop all the damage etc. Body shop was great..said theyd get all the info to Progressive and get it fixed right away. Progressive comes out to "inspect" it. And then has the nerve to say the rear damage couldnt have been done at the same time as they thought it appeared to be done by a person with "fingernails". Wait huh?? Both the paint and the rubber fender well edging were all damaged. And that was fingernails?? The best part is they said we'd have to place a separate claim for that one (aka pay another deductible) if we wanted it fixed. What a scam! Just trying to do whatever they can to squeeze some more money out or not cover it. So pissed! Dont waste your money on these guys. They'll be great while they collect your money. But will try to scam out any way they can when its time to cover something. What a rip off! read more

I have had progressive home owners insurance for several years, on Dec 27 , 2022, I had to file a claim.The adjuster assigned was in Florida, it took her several days to get back to me , the water damage to my house, was severe. It took her 3 weeks to get the field adjuster out and then 10 more days to get the remediation team out . By the time she had done all of this I had black mold in the walls of the bathroom, living room and my sewing room. She then sent me a check for less than 13,000. Dollars to cover the damages, My contractor has estimated the damage at 95,000. Dollars. Neither her nor her supervisor will return emails or phone calls. My 100 percent dis able vet husband and I have been living in this since Dec. The first check is gone. And it looks like I will have to get an attorney, and file a bad faith lawsuit. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Just over two months ago my son was leaving work and was hit by a non-insured Drunk Driver while he was sitting at a stop light , totaling his 2022 Toyota Tacoma that he only had for two months prior to the accident that he had been saving for several years. Now he has no savings left no running vehicle and is the sole supporter of his family. For the last two months he has been borrowing a car from his sister in law in order to get back and forth to work which is about to end. He has full coverage insurance along with uninsured motorists coverage. Progressive insurance is dragging there feet with the claim not providing a rental car or returning any of his calls. The vehicle is still sitting in the storage lot adding storage fee of over $3000 as of today , he doesn't have the money to get it out of storage so the fees keep climbing up. I wish he would have listened to me and had entertained my suggestion to check with AAA , Farmers , State Farm or All State for his auto insurance, they would have handled his claim by now. Progressive Claim Office, handle your claims before I contact the California Insurance Commissioner. My son is trying to handle this claim on his own, that's why I don't have a claim number. Lawyers wouldn't take the case because the at fault Drunk Driver has no insurance so there's no money in it for them. But don't think that for one minute I will let you screw my son over. He is not aware that I am doing these Yelp posting's . So all you smart shoppers out there using Yelp for reviews, think twice people before signing up for Progressive insurances. It's better to pay a slightly higher rate and know that you'll be taken care of. read more
