I initially went for the "Express Skin Treatment" but when my 45 minutes was up, there was no way I was getting off that table! Jamie graciously and easily continued my treatment (haha, awesome) into what is called the "Customized Skin Treatment.' Heaven the whole time...I'm still sighing from it. Before I left, I purchased some of the products she used from a line called "Dermalogica" and have been using them every since I left. My skin continues to feel silky and healthy. My eyebrows were long overdue for a touch up. I haven't waxed them in years as I have been having them threaded in New York for a long time now. I quickly realized threading services certainly aren't as common in NH/ME so I started looking for viable waxing services and that's what led me to Aviva. Alisha was so warm and accommodating immediately, and the space is beautiful, clean and calming. Alisha and I chatted throughout my waxing and she's incredibly friendly, interesting and kind while not getting distracted from giving me truly impeccable eyebrows. She was gentle and meticulous and made sure I knew what she was doing and was ok with the direction she was taking with shaping my brows the entire time, which I really appreciated. I have naturally very thick dark eyebrows and they really do make such a difference on my face depending on the shape so I'm particular. Everything was perfect, virtually pain free. I will definitely come back here anytime I'm in the area and will absolutely be recommending to all of my friends nearby. Alisha made me feel comfortable and relaxed the entire time, she's wonderful.

Before your wedding day even comes you get to visit her for a makeup trial, where we spent over an hour playing with different levels of color and intensity and by the time I left I felt amazing. I brought my mom with me for a second opinion and she made it so fun for the both of us. She worked seamlessly with our planner, hair stylist and photographer, and was always 3 steps ahead with the best outcomes in mind throughout the day. A small example of many: my fiance and I were planning to exchange gifts, and knowing I'd likely cry while opening mine she held off on applying any eye makeup that could possibly run until after we opened them. She was right - I cried, and the photos still looked great. In fact my makeup looked just as great at the end of the night as it did when she first applied it, thanks to her airbrushing magic and other products she uses to fix everything in place. Other appreciated things: she tucked blotting papers and a two tubes of lip color into my clutch, and left all my girls with a wand of their respective lip colors for touch ups as well. She did some light makeup on my groom that you couldn't notice in person but made our pictures look even better. She took pictures throughout my makeup application to check for anything that would show up funky on camera as we went. And for a nominal fee she'll stick around to touch you up one more time before you head down the aisle, something I especially appreciated since we did a first look and it was tearful. Do yourself a favor and call Joanne - and don't listen to wedding magazine timelines that tell you to wait until 3-6 months beforehand to do it either. She books up super fast.

She used an antiseptic first, then some powder and then wax. And then repeated the same in reverse order after she finished waxing me. Very quick and not too painful. It's a small little place but has the usual salon services at the usual prices. In case you find it difficult finding the salon, it's on the 2nd floor of a building that has a better store on the first floor. There is paid metered parking outside the salon. If you don't find enough information online you can leave her a voicemail. She responds pretty quickly. Do try this place out. She's really sweet :)

Jamie knows what she's doing, very well obviously, so right away that makes you relax. Then she just has a very calm and easy going demeanor, and easy to talk to. She was quick and efficient and I was finished and on my way before I knew it and extremely happy with my results. She's also very reasonable in her prices unlike sometimes overpriced spas for the same results and experience. Definitely try Jamie.
