Ladies who have yet to reach menopause…read more I've been feeling sh!tty for years (at least 10). I recently learned you can go through perimenopause for up to 20 years! Not through my regular doctors...but I stumbled onto a clinic where we tested my levels of hormones. My regular doctor has done this for a while now...but I'm not quite "low enough" for them to consider any treatment... ...and I still have a regular period. All other hormone levels low, but not "low enough". Keep this in mind as I tell you my testosterone level has been literally zero or barely on the scale for at least 14 years. This first adjustment, we added testosterone. HOLY S#!T! What a difference! I don't hurt all over in my joints, I sleep great, and the brain fog (almost unbearable!) lifted. Also added were supplements for estrogen enhancement. We recently added thyroid meds because I am (and have been) low in thyroid hormones. My brain fog is completely GONE! I can't believe how it's gone! I love being able to think and speak again without stumbling for word and memory. I have shared all of this with my PCP, who, at no fault of hers, scratches her head at this. They only go by their specified levels, not by levels other labs report, and per her, "We really don't do anything about hormones". She used an antiseptic first, then some powder and then wax. And then repeated the same in reverse order after she finished waxing me. Very quick and not too painful. It's a small little place but has the usual salon services at the usual prices. In case you find it difficult finding the salon, it's on the 2nd floor of a building that has a better store on the first floor. There is paid metered parking outside the salon. If you don't find enough information online you can leave her a voicemail. She responds pretty quickly. Do try this place out. She's really sweet :)

But being outdoors oriented, I've seen plenty of sun. While Lauren's spa is new to Portsmouth, she has years of experience in other parts of the country. All of her equipment is new and state-of-the-art. For me (I'm in my 60's), she suggested an initial focus on sun damaged areas and surface capillaries over two IPL sessions. Alisha was so warm and accommodating immediately, and the space is beautiful, clean and calming. Alisha and I chatted throughout my waxing and she's incredibly friendly, interesting and kind while not getting distracted from giving me truly impeccable eyebrows. She was gentle and meticulous and made sure I knew what she was doing and was ok with the direction she was taking with shaping my brows the entire time, which I really appreciated.
