The University of Bristol is pioneering significant areas of teaching and research in Systems Thinking applied to complex socio-technical processes. Emma was a key player in some of our early research on the Academic/Business boundary, helping us to develop process modelling and decision support tools for organisational development in real public and private sector companies. Now as a Visiting Fellow in the Systems Centre at the University of Bristol, a multifaceted entity which has over 80 Research Engineers and over 30 companies involved in Systems work, she uses her experience to provide teaching to both undergraduate and postgraduate programmmes in the Engineering Faculty. Recently she has been a key player in the development of new teaching initiatives, involving the Engineering Faculty and the Graduate School of Education together, in the area of Systems Learning and Leadership, broadening the reach of systems thinking ideas.
