I had an accident and my right foot was very painful for months after it when I went running. I was worried that my tendons were damaged but after he performed several check and an ultrasound on my foot, he concluded that the tiny muscles holding the tendons are in fact swollen but that the tendons are fine. I visited him a few times. The first time he didn't want to take any money from me because he suspected it wasn't a big deal based on the small tests he did. He told me to come back when I had complaints after resting my foot for 4-6 weeks. I did that. He only charged me once for a full exam. When I went back for a "second opinion" and I asked him for another ultra sound just to make sure it's really not my tendons, he said "Sure, why not". He did the exam and the ultrasound on both feet and showed me how they differ and why they differ and gave me more general knowledge and assured me that my tendons are in fact fine. His patience, genuine kindness, understanding and professionalism aside, he didn't even charge me for this exam! He just charged me for a mere consult! This guy is awesome. I don't care if you live in Amsterdam Zuid or Amstelveen get your painful foot to this awesome podiatrist! You won't regret it!

Sento is a fantastic gym. The main downfall is that it's really pricey, but it's the high price…read morethat also keeps the volume low, so you can't have it all. The gym is on the second floor. The exercise area is pretty small but has all the essentials and some nice extras including an assisted pull up machine and heavy bag. On the third floor there's a sauna, jacuzzi, water massage table (amazing) and even two swings to relax on. They also provide free bath salts to scrub your feet, and also tea and water. This area is probably what sold me on the gym. One more level up there's a roof top deck with lounge chairs, which I haven't had a chance to enjoy since it's winter, but that must be fantastic. The facilities are impeccably maintained and the staff is very nice. Many of them are also trainers, and are willing to help you out during your workout. They initially start you off with a free session to set goals and create a schedule and then it's up to you if you want to get more training or just more casually get help here and there. Oh and I forgot to mention there is a huge pool on the ground level. Probably the best in the area. Just check the schedule bc there are days for kids (hoards screaming lil ones come and jump on huge inflatable slides) and then there are other days for nude swimming (whatever floats your boat...). Of course they have "normal" swimming times too. The only thing I wish is that the group classes were included but that's a separate fee and group called Club Marnix I think. Anyway, I do enjoy the serenity of the gym at night, so while I encourage you to visit, I also secretly don't want it to get crowded ;).

It is advertised as a "sento" which in Japan is a communal hot bath. They do have a bath, but we'd call it a large hot-tub in the US (round thing that accommodates four, maybe five people. I've had major back surgery and recovered very well, but as I get older, I need regular therapy and reminders on how to stretch, exercise, and stay flexible. The difference between this fysio and what is in America is the price and the service. This is actually covered with our basic health insurance. They also don't make us get on a treadmill or do stretches by ourselves, they physically assist me in doing what I need to do. They also work out tough muscle pain, spasms and do dry needling. Absolutely amazing!! The therapists here are highly committed and thoughtful. It's a very small place and they are always booked, but if you are persistent, you can get in. I support them 100%.

I had a consultation session here with Sharon about my pelvic and back. She is very nice and knowledgeable​ of her craft. At this practice they have a variety of professionals that can meet your needs. I specifically requested for a senior level professional, so they linked me up with Sharon. In addition, she speaks Dutch, English. Spanish and Portuguese fluently. What I like about Sharon is that she is highly trained and very much knowledgeable of her field.
